Beast Warrior : Megatron

The leader of the Predacons, a criminal and a rogue, a megalomaniac and a powerful fighter, it's no wonder Megatron is one of the favourite Beast Warriors - he's so interesting! We first meet Megatron in Beast Wars: Part One when his ship crashed along with the Axalon on prehistoric Earth. Megatron had previously been pursued by the crew of the Axalon after stealing a Maximal relic from Cybertron - the mysterious Golden Disk. When he arrived on Earth, like all the others, he had to adopt a beast mode. He chose a fitting Tyrannosaurus Rex. Megatron's not your typical bad guy, though. He's very smart, he speaks well and does not have a maniacal chuckle after each line (rather he clarifies his thoughts by saying 'yessss' and 'no' at the end of nearly each sentence) and he occasionally wins against the good guys! Megatron's only real rivals who have the capability to physically beat him are, in my opinion, Optimus Primal and possibly Dinobot. He's extremely powerful, more so when he became a Transmetal! In his Transmetal form, his tail became a super laser weapon, he had shoulder mounted guns, he had wheels that slide out from under his feet and blasters which can work as a sort of vehicle form (with the wheels) or as jets in his flight mode. But he didn't stop there! The Predacon commander, due to treachery in his ranks by Tarantulas, became a Transmetal Two (after merging his spark with the original Megatron's in the episode 'Master Blaster') His beast mode changed to that of a red dragon and his weapons include fire and ice and of course, he is a winged dragon so he can still fly! More powerful than ever, it is at this stage that the Maximals realize just how truly powerful and dangerous Megatron has become. Megatron's original intention was a search for energon, an energy source that will give him great power and if he gains enough, the ability to conquer and rule Cybertron. Yet, further in the series when he discovers a second Golden Disk, he has gained the power to change the future of Cybertron! Dinobot sacrificed himself to destroy this disk and stopped Megatron before he could do any major damage. Despite this, Megatron still had his own agendas and continued to be a potent threat to the Maximals right until the end of the series. A skilled leader, a careful planner and an altogether entertaining character, Megatron ranks as one very vital character in the Beast Wars. Quote: "I'll say one thing for my namesake, he liked his artillery big and plentiful. Now, where was I? Ah, yes. Mindless destruction! Good for the Spark, I always say."
