Wild Sentinels Tigatron Painting Now in Two Versions!

Unread post by Dragonsflayme »

Original is 18x24 inches, acrylic on canvas board. Around 20 hours to finish.

Anyone intrested in prints? I'm trying to find a way to make a few affordable ones.. The print size i'm hoping for is 11x14 inches because I can't afford to print it. Unless someone wants to shell out $70 for one..

If anyone going to Botcon is intrested i can take pre-orders or something and bring the prints to Botcon to save on shipping!

Edity Tastic:
Yay for photoshop.

The version on the left is going to be the general release print.. the one on the right may be some limited run color version. Gargph..Now i need to reprint my test prints.

Wait. I have to lift my lower jaw up from the ground...

That is an automatic favorite, Df! Spectacular job!

How can something that elaborate and that big take you only 20 hours when my Transmetal Megatron painting took me nearly 17 and it's twice as small?! I feel so... slow. LoL Then again, there was a lot of color mixing for all of those Transmetal textures and pretty shinyness.

Totally awesome.

I would definitely buy a print from you. It's perfect to have Blu sign it since he'll be at the BC. But alas, I am not attending this year's BC because I wasted my vacation time and money on the MechaCon. ...But it was weeeell worth it.

Garry rocks!

Again, fantastic job on the painting, Df. I shall favorite it and comment on dA!

HOLY C--I'm gonna just stop my outburst right there.

This is something that I'd see at an art mussum(sp?) like the AGO. Can't wait to hear what Blu thinks of it. (possitive)

There was reference. Most of which is taped up onto my wall near where I worked on the painting. Two photos of tigers, the practice sketch of the tiger, and the practice drawing of Tigatron. I couldn't do something like this without reference.

I'm mostly self taught when it comes to painting, aside from a few years of private lessions in many art mediums, I've learned on my own. So.. just practice! Know it sounds corny, but it's true.

Thanks for the comments!

I couldn't do something like this without reference.
Nor can I. Wish I could but Beast Wars characters are very detailed and involved characters. I use references all the time, especially for my two paintings.
So.. just practice! Know it sounds corny, but it's true.
I can back you up on that, Df. Practice, practice, practice. I didn't get good shading with pencil with my first try. In fact, soon I plan on posting my first attempts at drawing BW characters. As embarrassing as they are to me, it just shows that I needed practice first before getting to where I am now with my pencil art.
