I am now an Uncle

Unread post by Razor One »

My sister in law just popped out a baby boy.

I dont know whats scarier at this point. The fact that I'm an uncle or the fact that my older brother is a father now

I'll see about finding a decent webhost for the stream of pics that will no doubt crop up.

I'm now off to see him and his no doubt relieved mother.

Just got back from the hospital, baby boy is healthy and weighs in at 7 pounds 14 ounces and he's 54 cm long (~22 inches).

He has his mothers face and his fathers nose and his uncles eyes.

His extended family on both sides are ecstatic. I think I'm still kind of stunned...

Aw, congrats on being an uncle, Razor One! Must be a special feeling. :) I don't know if I'll ever be an aunt, since my sister is much like me that she does not want to pop out any babies, lol! But if I WERE an aunt, I'd probably feel a little stunned and happy at the same time.

Congrats with the new baby, new uncle!
I don't think you should worry pretty much about being a
new uncle, it can be quite fun (while te baby's still a baby of course! :P )
I can tell you from experience, 'cause I'm already an aunt of two.
Great! so now you'll have someone to teach hot to play football with!

Seconding previous post. :D

I'm also one of those who don't want to 'pop out' any babies. And the reason? I don't get along with little kids. My nephew is enough (my sister got him at the age of 18, so I became an aunt at the age of 10. Plus the boy's 8 years old now, or will be in October).

Oh, Razor One, I advise you against saying things like "You know, that guy's called *this and that*" when your nephew turns 8. I've noticed that Amadeus tends to say "I knew that!" with a vexed and saucy tone. I hate it when he does that... makes me feel weird and think "Does this kid know everything!?". Not good. He's too cheeky to my liking. And besides, he's one of those kids who like to tickle a lot. He also punches me between my legs  , and says "But this is what the guys do to each other in daycare!". He doesn't do that anymore, but when he did, he didn't seem to realize that I wasn't 'a guy'.

Btw, little kids also tend to be nosey. They go through your stuff even if you tell them not to, they always bang the door open and run in yelling "See what I can do, see what I can do!" and then do something idiotic. My nephew jumped and landed on his back on the floor. Thank God he's not as annoying anymore.

Congrats Razor One!!! :D That's really great news ^_^

I'm not an aunt or anything, but my older cousins have been having babies for the past few years so I've gotten used to having kids around.

I'm looking forward to having a child of my own, but it probably won't be for another 2 years or so since I want to finish university first.

Congrats, R1! It's an experience that I'll never know, but I'm very happy for you. BTW, are you also on Seibs? I think I came up against you in HMW quite a few times.

A beautiful child, R1. Congrats on being an uncle! I myself am an uncle to six kids. Have been since I was seven. It's pretty crazy around Thanksgiving and Christmas, lemme tell ya. =P
Is the answer to this question "No"?
