Hey all!

I decided to put together this list of the 25 Greatest Beast Wars characters. They're ranked in order of importance, greatness, strength of characterization, long-lasting impact and legacy, etc. It's not just a list of my 25 favorites.

Anyway, check it out, and please let me know what you think, positive and negative. So far #19-#25 are up. http://beastwars25.weebly.com/

So far I agree fairly well with this list. I like Terrorsaur (he was my one of my favorite preds in Season 1), but I agree his role wasn't too important when Tarantulas (another favorite of mine as the series progressed) got more involved.

12 and 13 are up!
14. Quickstrike, Aw man he's my 3rd favorite.
Glad to hear that, it often seems like no one likes him. While I can't say he cracks my top 5 favorite characters, he may be in my top 10. But that said, he just was not an important or defining enough character to be in the top 10 of the greatest characters list.

I notice that, just by talking to other BW fans as well as through writing. Poor Quickstrike! :( lol.

EDIT: 13. Rampage? Really, well he's my number 1, but I really thought a lot higher, but, eh, oh wel. :)

I knew Rampage's number would be a controversial pick, because of how popular he is, but he's really just not that important a part of Beast Wars. I think he's a lot of wasted potential, unfortunately.

Importance is subjective and it really depends on how one chooses to consider a character's feats. The only things Rampage really accomplished were:

- Add a back story to the Axalon's mission.
- Destroyed the Axalon.
- Made Depth Charge an interesting character.

Off the top of my head, those were the only important things he's done in seasons 2 and 3. How you guys choose to rank these feats compared to those of other characters is completely up to you.

And those things all factor in to why he's ahead of half the characters. But the backstory to the Axalon's mission really only heavily factored into a couple episodes - the story didn't change all that much if the Axalon really was just exploring as originally stated. As for destroying the Axalon, they really could have had anyone there pulling on the ship (as it stands, a bunch of arachnoids were doing some of the work too) it wasn't, like, a character moment for Rampage.

At this stage of the game everyone left is important or at least fairly defining to the series itself. And think about who's left - which of those does Rampage really deserve to be ranked higher than based on actual import and significance to the narrative and amount of time spent on their characterization? I'm sure there's perhaps a few names people could argue Rampage could beat, but the vast majority almost have to be ahead of him - with a few exceptions we're primarily down to the people who were around for the entire series and got like many episodes devoted to them in addition. For people who just appeared in some of it, Rampage is very near the top.

After too long a delay, #11 is up. Just the top 10 now!

He had a very interesting back story, something different. So his potential could have been a lot better, but I see where your coming from! :)

Barely, but yeah, in this case the list wasn't so much about who would make the cut, but where they'd be ranked.

I considered including Beast Machines just to give me more people, but ultimately I didn't want to do that, and then I'd have to wrestle with stuff like if Thrust, Jetstorm and Tankorr count as different people than Waspinator, Silverbolt and Rhinox and it just got lame. Plus I didn't want to have to include Nightscream.
