Unlikely Beast Modes

Unread post by Blackrosefencer »

Okay, I noticed that there seemed to be some "go to" beast modes that the creators of Beast Wars used. I mean, there were two spiders; lots of insects; three dinosaurs (five if you count the two Dinobot clones); a scorpion and a part-scorpion; a bird and two that were part bird (if you count Airrazor and Tigerhawk as two separate entities); two cats and one part cat (again, counting Tigerhawk and Tigatron as separate entities) actually three cats if you count Ravage.....

There just seemed to be beast modes that made for pretty good beast modes and that's why they kind of gravitated towards repeating those.

And I think there are some UNLIKELY beast modes that they purposely steered away from. Now, I know some of them were toys, but when you think about it in the sense of using them for the show, they would have been difficult for the animators to animate or were just too ridiculous to even fathom for a character! Some beast forms would have just simply been awkward or uninteresting as characters or difficult to relate to. So I'm talking in terms of the confines of the show and not in terms of RPing or the toy line or even the comic books.

So here are some that I was thinking of.....

Fish
Naked Mole Rat
Bacteria :-D
Ladybug (since the insects were generally Predacons, I don't imagine a lady bug would have made for an entertaining or threatening Pred)
Chihuahua or any annoying yappy dog
Snail
Giraffe

Okay, so what unlikely beast modes can you come up with??? :-D

Ravage is a Cassette tape, not a cat!

I think seeing a Jellyfish beast mode woulda been funny (and rather useless!)

Ravage had a beast mode and an alternate mode! :-P He never transformed into it, but he was a jaquar. It says so in the sourcebook that you showed me!!! :-P

A gorilla, a cheetah, a velociraptor, a t-rex, a rhinoceros, a scorpion.... Oh wait.

A water bear. I think that's what it's called. It's some kind of microscopic organism, I think. Saw it a long time ago on TV, probably Discovery or something.

Tape worm
Guinea hen
Dodo bird
Aardvark
Giant anteater
Bulooga whale (sp?)
House fly
Chinchilla
Slug (to go along with Blackrosefencer's snail)

 Kind of difficult to think of some really unusual and unlikely beast modes.

I got a few.

Tick
Flea
Leech
Candiru also known as the toothpick fish, or vampire fish. It's been known to swim up peoples... i'm not even going to finish that thought *shudders*
Capybara
Mini Donkey
Mule
And Kookaburra.

I think Kookaburra would be an awesome Beast mode though.

Clams and peacocks. Nice, starshadow.
Duck-billed platypus
Good one! It's funny, though, I can see that as a beast mode... Interesting.
blue footed booby
Hah! Silly bird.

Ew. Ticks, fleas and leeches. Gross, N-H.

Here are some more:
Chupacabra
Bigfoot

Hummingbird
Pot belly pig
Sloth
Butterfly (unless, of course, it's fused with an ermine, then it would be be-awesome! )

A bacteria just doesn't seem feasible with the size and needing a 'host', chihuaha is a breed of dog and dogs wouldn't come to exist before humans had evolved more, as for fish there was always Depth Charge I suppose, and Rampage was a crab, but some more water based forms might have been nice on a planet with so much water.

In the rpg we seem to have more water based alt modes, including two squids and a penguin and a whale.

I would have liked to see a bear, an elephant, or a cute fuzzy rabbit in beast wars personally. :)

@OOP; aww, Primal will be getting another hug soon if you keep this up.

That's why this is the UNLIKELY beast modes thread!

Yeah, but I was talking about a fish, not a manta ray or a crab. At least the crab was able to walk around on land and they gave Depth Charge a flying mode. But could you imagine a character with a FISH as a beast mode....who had a FLYING mode. A flying fish just is too ridiculous for words. I can't even imagine it interacting with anyone...all I see is the character in beast mode flopping around on land since fish can't breath outside of water.... would make for an interesting episode though kind of disturbing for kids....
Good one! It's funny, though, I can see that as a beast mode... Interesting.
What would you name a character with a duck billed platypus as a beast form?!

And I was gonna say sloth too!! lol
Chupacabra
Bigfoot
:D Good ones!

I was considering to make a leech as a beast mode from a Predacon I was going to use on here until I scrapped him. Just imagining a giant leech.. *shivers*

Let's see an unlikely beast mode...hmm...Loch Ness?

An Amobra? Amobre. I spelled that wrong. Those live water creatures tht look like little volcanoes.

Do those even exist? XDDD

Much as Claw Jaw made a fun little toy, I always thought a squid was an unrealistic beast mode for a robot. Way too soft'n'squishy.

Guess that's what happens when you try to jump into the discussion when you don't have time to read it. I missed the part about "unlikely" beast forms.

How about shrimp, a cauliflower, and santa claus?

Now that I look back at the show, I would think they would want the strongest of the strong animals. Insects used to never make sense to me, or the spiders.

So I guess some unlikely beast modes would be:
porcupine
white tailed deer
vulture
bear
squirrel
giraffe
goat
pelican
flamingo
