The following are links to neat vids on Youtube that show the animatronic dinosaurs going through a test procedure I guess. I was looking for just sound clips,but of course, put in "pterodactyl scream" and you get a million vids of people screechign like Terrorsaur. While it's funny to watch, it's not what I'm looking for. Luckily, I came across these and they not only sound cool, you see the product of some of the most creative and awesome work peeps have ever done. :'D
Note: The following might sound nerdy or creepy to some, but while I am primarily a visual kind of person, I am also a sound person, and the Sound of something can make or break it. :/ I like to share what things sound like, because in my head, Beast Wars is not only visually AWESOME, it's also extremely 3D to ear as well.
I wish I could animate it. ;_;
The first here is a pterodactyl.
As I RP Terrorsaur, I imagine these sounds, as well as ones he was supposed to be making in the show, in my head. :3 There's this one 'trumpet' from Jurassic PArk I can't find though. In my head, I I LOOOOVE to imagine Dinobot with the deadly stride and breathing and cool sounds they make in the movie. :'D (Not so bird-liek in movement though. -_- He's more deliberate than that. THe whole "looking around pointedly" thing is not him.) Again, not entirely like the JP movie because it wouldn't fit the BW character. Just added in now and again here or there as it fits. Like, if Dinobot sniffed the ground while out on patrol I think he'd make velociraptory sniffing sounds. :3 The fearsome shriek and other sounds aren't here, but I THINK we've all seen the movie so hopefully, yall know already. 8DDDDD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W89kWSXf ... re=related
And here are TRex sounds to include in Megatron's repertoire. When I RP him, too, I include these sounds where appropriate. It bothers me that the Trex doesn't move 'naturally' and its eyes look funny, but it's realy cool anyways. I wonder if Transformers 3 will include the Dinobots and have them land in a Dino-park and they scan the animatronic dinos.... I'm not fond of the Dinobots, but if it means brining in Dinosaurs, then be my guest, I guess. I just wish Grimlock wasn't slow. The King should not be slow.

Um, I'm just sharing what I visualize.
When they're talking and whatever, their imitations of sound are still a part of their dialogue, but say they're in beast mode and 'blending in.' They gotta make the real sounds right? n_n Now, when I write Terry and Megs, I'm not gonna say "refer to video blah for this sound", of course. I'll just write naturally. But I use JP as a reference, since it's my FAVE dino movie ever. :3 OH WAIT! Since the movie "Dinosaur" also has some kind of pteranodon i nthe beginning, there might be neat sounds there too! >_>
P.S. - I actually am going to be an animator some day and I think I'll always love Beast WArs.
So watch out. You'll all be in your 40s when you hear the announcement that Beast Wars' visual effects are being revamped. :3
Or a totally new series of movies is coming out that actually IS super cool and not Bayified vor human focused. 9_9 . =_=
