Blinking!! :3
According to Beast Machines, and I don't remember if it as in Beast Wars or not, Bots were upgraded to be more fuel efficient, which meant a smaller size.
And they incorporated blinking...?
Well, Movieverse, where they all seemed to blink and I can;t remember if it was only Abots or what, aside, the Beastbots blink. And I think it contributes to their energy efficiency. (It also incorporates what some Autobots might have found to be very expressive.) A human blinks a bazillion times during their lifetimes and I assume that the Beast Era has many long lived bots so their lives would be even longer. Well, if a bot blinks, they might reduce their lifetime consumation of energy by some significant percentage. In the short term, it wouldn't do much. If one bot was stranded somewhere, the fact that they blink probably won't help them conserve their fuel any. But if blinking was incorporated into the entire population as part of the upgrade, AND everyone's long lived, it may help Cybertron as a whole conserve its fuel resources. :3 That's what I think anyway, because I on't think robots need to blink. :/ Sure, they could have wipers or something to get stuff out of their optics, but I don't think tears or blinking is necessary.
Oh, and crying! I see lots of people who write bots as being able to cry. I think crying would be an option. Many bots, I think, would view the act of leaking fluid not only wasteful but weak...and bleeding would make you weak in the first palce too. Therefore, in Beast Wars-verse, I don't think all bots cry. Maybe many Maximals are able to, it's built into them because of their heavily human influenced Autobot ancestors, but Predacons? I dun think so. And on top of that, not all Maximals and not all Predacons would be built the same. The only time I ever saw a bot cry, that I remmeber, was in Beast wars when Black Arachnia is thinking of Silverbolt and a tear comes out of one of her eyes. But then,
a) She was in Beast Mode, and
b) I can't think of a B. It escaped me. >_>
Erm. Yeah, so it might have been part of her beast mode's thing. But what if not? Maybe crying isn't as reactive as it is in humans and even if bots are able to do it, not everyone cries. Take Depth Charge for example. I really cannot see him crying. -_-' I mean, who knows, right? But assuming he's always essentially been himself, albeit nicer and more "honorable" and dutybound back in the day, then I still can't see him crying. :/
But if I can't see him crying and he lived through a terrible tragedy and IF he did break down, what did he, or other peeps who can't or can but don't, cry? Same goes for like G1 bots who, unless they've been on Earth for a while, I can't see crying either?
Um, well, maybe their systems heat up or cool down, and maybe they produce some kind of sound. I picture it a guttural sob mixed with a high keening.
OH OH!
And relationships and phrases.
Lots of them use human phrases to compare things, even the Preds. I think maybe a ton of human slang, sayings, and lol curse words. xD Which all would have, of course, been Cybertronianized. :3 And then with relationships I mean things like "Great Aunt Arcee" and Ancestors.
for once I really wish someone at Hasbro or something finally told us how in the Pit bots reproduce (they won't, I'm sure, but it'd sure be interesting and useful! DX) but assuming there's some process where a "spark comes online" and a bot is built (in TF:A, apparently, there's something about the spark and the protoform... <_< But this isn't TF:A...) or made fro ma Protoform, I don't think there's such thing as actual parents or even Mother and Father. o-o! Despite the VERY few fembots in the Beast Era, there are Femmes so maybe there are more...possibly less in number or something, but more out there. And if Botanica was an esteemed explorer like Primal, then other femmes may have been given prestigious or admirable positions, which would imply that they have respect and/or rights or something. Also, if there ARE fewer femmes as a whole, then maybe they're not needed for the sparkbearing process (if there is one)? What I'm getting at is, there's nothing to really support that a Mech and Femme can only make a Spark. We don't even know if that's how it happens. x_x In Beast Machines, Vector Sigma was, apparently, one the "Myths" from Cybertronian history, so how else were they making new Sparks? I don't see how imitating the human reproduction process would help energy conservation and, thus, the species as a whole, so I'm omitting that theory. xD
...What was a I talking about again?
Oh yeah - so without a direct "I came from you and you" concept, there wouldn't be a rigid Mother and Father, and other, relationship, right? It'd be more like, "I'm your Creator. But you may call me Father/Mother if you like." and then if there's a Mech and Femme, then maybe, because of human culture, the Mech would be called Father and the femme Mother.
I hope that all made sense. I'm eating dinner and I kinda rambled on about whatever after blinking... >_>
