This is the best Transformers book EVER. And I'm not exaggerating.
Seriously the amount of super-obscure stuff in this is INSANE. As the TFWiki puts it, pretty much EVERY proper noun in this entire book is a reference to SOMETHING. And all the Cybertronian writing can be translated into quotes from everything from classical works to Max Headroom. I mean, look up Seafood Louis. And Bikini Party Summer. And Benzuli Expanse. And Caliburn. GRAAGGH.
Oh, and it mentions my P.O.K.E. twice, too. GLEE.

My only issue with it, is that it only covers the episodes and characters up to the end of series 2Beastbot wrote:This is the best Transformers book EVER. And I'm not exaggerating.

I know its probabaly because they actually finished it off mostly before series 3 was finalised, but still...lol

I don't have a copy of the book yet, but I may try to get one eventually.
I am curious about something, though. What are the episode summaries in the guide like? Are they just blurbs, or are they just a page or two long, or what? Or do they go into full-blown detail, maybe even including fun facts about the episodes?

Life is like a novel. You don't know how it will end, or how long it will be.

they are all summarised episodes by a character in the series

They're all written from the perspectives of a certain relevant Animated character. One page each, except for Return of the Headmaster which gets two. Pretty much everyone is fan-tastic, many of them full of little nods and homages. One is even written from the POV of Professor Princess.Dreamscreamer wrote:I am curious about something, though. Really 95% of the book is written from the perspective of a certain Animated character. It's written like the writers went and interviewed the Animated characters about their experiences. It's even explained at the beginning of the book how the writers were able to interview the Decepticons.
It's particularly hilarious to read what each of the Seeker clones has to say about another one.
Oh, and of course Blitzwing has three opinions on everything.

Every Animated character comments on at least something in the book, whether it's a character or an episode.Dreamscreamer wrote:Ooooo that sounds awesome! Tell me something, are portions of the book written from Prowl's point of view?

As for Prowl... *flips through book*... he's the one who comments on Lockdown, Cybertonian Powers, Dinobot Island, and the episode "Nature Calls".
Some other particularly creative episode summaries:
-A comic book story starring Swindle is summarized as a payment ledger.
-A comic book story with Blackarachnia is summarized in a trashy "Decepti-femme" magazine article.
-The "S.U.V." episode is summarized with a transcript of Captain Fanzone interviewing the perps.

Just got a copy today. All I have to say is this:This book goes beyond a labor of love. It goes so far beyond it, that I can't see it anymore.
Anyway, to make that creepy post up there short, go buy this if you haven't already. In particular, fan artists and writer should pick this up.

Because there's a phrase for people who drive out into the middle of very flat, open country while being chased by Starscream in his F-22 form. "Sitting duck."
