The Not-So-Prime Side

Unread post by Nurann »

*cough* ^_^;

I'm looking for a bit of help on a painting I'm working on of Optimus. I'm short on good reference material for one particular area, and that area is... *blushes* his butt.

http://www.members.shaw.ca/stargirl145/ ... eblues.htm
(arrow points to my problem area)

The piece actually goes on a lot more to the right, and I'd like to post the finished painting when I'm done, but without a finished butt, well...

Does anyone have any reference images I could please borrow?

lol THANK YOU Jagna!! *glomps* That works better than the one I was trying to hunt down! (I'm sure there is a scene some where where he's going to sit down, and every time I see it I think it's the PERFECT butt shot. But it's like, 3 seconds in 20 hours of video - talk about the proverbial needle in a haystack!)

*curses scanner*

mediums are acrylic paint, watercolour paper, clear laquer, digital enhancement to compensate for the cruddy scanner job.

Thanks Primus! :) That seriously improved the start of my day!

I'd love to paint more, but I'm out of ideas. Got any suggestions?

Hmmm, It's hard to think of a good piece that would truely compliment your style...
I got it! You could try a version of the last supper, with some of the maximals crowded around the main table on the bridge of the Maximal hq.
I'm sure that anything you paint though will turn out amazing!

Hey Nurann! That's a really cool picture! It's so nice to see some BW art from you after such a long dry spell. You did a great job and I really like the style. I do hope you're gonna submit it to the site... >_> :D I'd be pleased to boast such talent in our galleries. ^_^

* at the screen shot Jag provided as a reference* I love this message board. XD

Gorilla Warfare is one of my favorites as well, Jagna. Good work on helping Nurann! 8)

Nurann, your painting is fantastic! I love the strokes and the style! And awesome choice of character, of course. *huggles painting* The setting seems so peaceful; almost a calm-before-the-storm feeling. It's simply wonderful. ^.^

I have yet to begin another one of my paintings like I said I would. I just keep drawing instead because I keep finding spiffy scenes in the DVD's, but I have a new style of art that I want to try soon and see how comes it out.

I'd love to see more artwork, Nurann! :D

*huggles all * thank you! And thank you Primus and Jagna - you've both given me some ideas to work on.

to skyfire: 0.0 Really? COOL. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the style some time. This is only the second time I've tried painting this way, and I would like to hear from someone who has an opinion about Impressionism.

Awesome awesome awesome!!
Nurann you're a great artist. This picture makes you think everything Optimus had to go through, during the Beast Wars. Wondering if there would be an end to it. Impressive technique. Maybe the next one can be megatron. Instead looking to a peaceful scene he would see all those volcanic areas erupting and stuff. Just to suit each personality don't you think?
