It's mostly about Astrotrain, seeing as how he's coming first, but the new head is shown in detail, while if you look closely, the background of the picture is of pre-BW Airazor as she's shown in the Botcon comic, so it's a repaint of this mold with a new head: http://www.angelfire.com/scifi2/bbfortr ... inger.html
It's an early toy preview prototype, little mistakes like that happen all the time on those, and that's exactly where the Decepticon symbol is on Slugslinger so I'm sure it was just a mistake. I'm sure it won't make it to the final toy. I'd imagine on the final toy there'll be a Maximal symbol over the spark crystal instead, to cover up the molded-in Decepticon symbol on said spark crystal. (They did a similar thing with this years' Botcon exclusives, Buzzsaw and Laserbeak, in putting a Predacon symbol over their Decepticon spark crystals.)
Wicked Woman wrote:Interesting... why does Air Razor's pre-BW toy have a DECEPTICON symbol?! O_o as I recall, she's a MAXIMAL.
Great find Beastbot.

because sluslinger from the energon toyline was a decepticon. thats the reason that the BC exclusive for rhinox had the autobot symbol because they used the landmine/guardshell and they couldnt get it off of the mold
Yeah, but Slugslinger's Decepticon symbol was painted on, not molded on like Landmine's. That shouldn't be a problem on the final Airazor toy.
Also, the TF Club has made the page above viewable to members only for the time being, so most of you won't be able to see it. I'm sure it won't be long before they put the pics on a public page, though.
A bit of an update-- the price for Airazor is $42 + shipping, and you have to be a Club member to order one. E-mail preorders are being accepted now, phone preorders will be accepted starting December 1st. Both Airazor and Astrotrain are expected to ship out of China in early January, and to us in late January. For more info on ordering, go here:
Pics of the new exclusives are now accessible via a public part of the website, so here's the new address, featuring detailed views of the new headsculpts as well. Of note is that Airazor has a Maximal symbol now:
Now that is much better. *Can't really see Air Razor as a Decepticon * She looks alot better this way and I'm not just talking about the symbol. Thanks for keeping us posted BB.

Prime: "Any last words?"
Demolisher: "not the face, NOT THE FACE!"
I would really prefer a BW Airazor figure as she never got a great one to begin with, the paint apps on the first weren't very good at all and the second didn't look like her.
They can't make brand new toys, Kittie-- Fun Piblications doesn't have NEAR the production numbers or the budget for that. Heck, it costs them about ten thousand bucks just for a new head mold...

But they could have repainted the old BW toy and given it a new head...
Well, the colors and head are already fairly close to Airazor's, not different enough where a repaint of that would sell much at this high above retail, I'd bet... I also question whether that mold is even available anymore, as many early BW toy molds aren't... also, that would go against the "pre-BW" theme of this year...
I hope the crappy Michael Bay movie flops, the Beast Wars comic sells a zillion copies, and we get a new Beast Wars cartoon, taking off from the end of the original(disregarding Beast Machines as I like to think of it as an AU thing).

What does any of this have to do with the pre-BW Airazor toy?
