Botcon Fundraising: DONATE OPTION ADDED

Unread post by Dragonsflayme »

Okay people. I've had ideas rumbling around my head for a while now, and figured I might as well get them out here.

First off, I'm not sure how well this will work, but to pull it off we all have to pull together.

Some of us, like VBA, could use a little bit of extra help in paying for their botcon registraitions. So, I was thinking that Bwint as a board could in a way adopt/sponsor a couple of people (no more than two or three) to help pay for these expenses.

Now, we get to the concept of actually amassing these funds.

I have left over Tigatron and Dinobot prints from this year's con, I have thought about selling the Tigatron ones for $25 (that includes shipping cost) with $5 going into the Fund, and the Dinobot's for $15(including shipping) with $3 going to the Fund. If I manage to sell out of these prints, I have other works in progress that I will be able to do the same with..

That is what I can do for now, but I can not justify being the only person contributing to this fund. Some others have to help out as well. Be it through donating some proceeds from art sales, or ebay sales, or just straight up donating a couple of dollars into a fund. My other stipulation is that this fund pays for registraition first, then if there is leftover that can go towards other expenses.

We would need someone to be willing to collect the funds and keep them safe as well. I do not know if I trust myself with that job.. given I tend to have cash-poor periods here at school(..like now.. x_x;; ) (also we will need to keep track of who donates how much .. incase it backfires and we have to refund donations..) At the end, whatever is made can be divided up evenly between those chosen to be sponsored.

If anyone else has any fund-raising ideas, feel free to pitch em in! :D

I'd, like, wash cars and give the proceeds to the fund.

Since it's Florida and it's still 80-bloody-degrees. xD

I'm not sure where to say this, so pardon me if this post is misplaced.

I'd like to be among those sponsored because unless a near-miracle happens I don't think I'll be going to BotCon. :( College keeps kicking me in the gut for money and I still have no income despite my efforts to find a job.

It tears me up cuz there's so many people I'd like to see this summer. *sigh*

Thanks,

Starath, no worries. I'll help you and two others as much as I can. *grins* you'll not be in any lack if we're able to pull this off, I assure you.

*hugs*
