Quickstrike laughed Guess that feller had no luck. Today lady luck is shinin' on us boys.. lets kick some keisters!

"And then you must...AHA! There it is everyone, the enemy colony! Remember the plan! AAAATTTTTAAAACCCCK!!!" Inferno shrieked in his trademark insane battlecry that made him sound possessed by a Pit Demon, the ant flying downwards to the massive gaping hole in the Axalon's side, an easy target, already firing a barrage of explosive fireballs down into said opening to do as much damage as possible to the Axalon's interior.

"How could we forget? You repeated the plan over and over again until we could recite it like a poem by Spark" Terrorsaur grumbled, but nevertheless eager to go into action as he cried out "Terrorsaur, TERRORIZE!" and began his assault with shoulder mounted missile fire directed at the same hole Inferno targeted, but added more to the chaos but firing eyebeams at the maximal's auto guns to weaken their defenses even further, blasting them apart one by one.

"Ahhh, its times like these that remind me why its good to be a predacon, heheheheheheh!" Terrorsaur chuckled as he lit up the place like a earthling Christmas tree, happy to be the one doing harm to someone else again after the fiasco back at the base.

Meanwhile, back at the Predacon base, Megatron readied his equipment in the lab for the arrival of his "patient," double checking everything to ensure nothing would go wrong with what he planned for his newest recruit. Everything had to be perfect, for he wanted his new recruit to be a force to be reckoned with, a reliable agent of his will rather than a loyal but blind fool.

"Everything appears to be in proper working order, power supply is stable, surgical tools clean and in ideal condition, blank protoforms ready for remolding...Now all I require is my patient for the operation to begin, yyyyeeesssss" Megatron mused to himself darkly with a knowing grin on his lips, eager to get the creation of his new predacon warrior underway.

"Excellent, perfect timing, bring our guest inside and meet me in the lab, most of the riff raff won't be hear to meddle in his revival. Megatron out"
Nemesis had been hoping Megatron would send someone outside to assist her with maneuvering the much larger Decepticon into the base, but it would appear Megatron had little concern for such trivial problems. She sighed briefly after Megatron had cut their connection, pondering the predicament for a few nanoclicks before she decided to use a few hoverboards linked together to do the job. The Decepticon was, after all, about three times her height and considerably heavier than her, so moving him in such small quarters wasn't going to be easy.

After fetching the hoverboards, she attached them to each other before placing a metal ramp from the end of the two nearest the Decepticon. She then used what little power was left on the tracking device Megatron had handed her to jump start the thrusters once more, if only a few brief jolts. Just enough to allow the Decepticon to slide, if not so gracefully, up the short ramp. When he was on the hoverboards, she could easily enough move inside with the giant fallen warrior in tow. She brought him straight to the lab where Megatron was waiting, not feeling like explaining anything to the other Predacons should she encounter any. And the longer she waited, the higher the chance some would arrive.

"Your device is going to need a recharge," she told Megatron as she brought her oversized companion inside the lab, "But it served its intended purposes well."

Aurora stared in disbelief as Landslide continued his struggles with the large and odd looking Predacon, only to be seemingly swallowed whole when the freakishly big and now very much so scary attacker suddenly seemed to change his armor and engulf the smaller beetle. She let out a slight shriek as she watched the scenario unfold, unsure if they would ever see Landslide again. She watched in horror as the scaled creature coiled himself around Landslide, threatening to crush him, then Landslide's rather muffled voice appeared. She couldn't quite make out what he was saying, as she was standing further away than Optimus and Landslide's voice was cut off a bit by his foe trying to squeeze the life out of him.

Then the scaly creature suddenly made a noise as well just as it started to uncoil itself from around Landslide. In the process it flung Landslide a considerable distance away.
"Aurora, after him!"
Optimus didn't have to tell her twice. Aurora took off in the direction Landslide had disappeared in, running as quickly as she could.

Zodiac's grip on Whitegrazer's neck only strengthened as she struggled against it, making some feeble attempts at forcing him to release her. He was prepared for her counters, knowing enough about her close combat skills from his time as Nexus and also from her file that he had looked through while in control of Sentinel. She wasn't a threat, not against his greater physical advantage, not without any leverage on her side. Her struggling only caused him to grasp more tightly around her neck, almost choking her in the process. And he probably would have, too, had he not wanted her to remain conscious. He wanted her to experience, truly experience, the suffering he was capable of causing her. The painful death that she deserved for continuing to disrupt his plans and speaking up against him any chance she got.

When her elbow slammed against his arm, he resisted the movement. He was so intent to finish what he had started, nothing else really mattered right now. With any luck his original target, Optimus, would come barging through that gaping hole in the wall and witness his beloved torn to pieces by the nanomachines. He even went so far that he held the machines back a bit, as to prolong her suffering. Piece by piece they cut through her armor, leaving an ever growing gaping opening in her chest and neck region. The shine from her spark soon on display for the world to admire, for him to see before he extinguished it forever.
"N-no. Don't. S--S--Stop."
Her voice sounded gurgled, as if she was drowning. The shapeshifter paid it no heed. He had no intention of taking pity on her, no desire to stop. If anything her pleading voice fueled his desire to continue.

The female's eyes suddenly took on a white color, a bit puzzling to the shapeshifter and he involuntarily slowed down the process a bit still as he studied the changing emotions on her face. He had honestly expected the only emotions she would show by now to be fear and pain, but there was something more.. something hidden behind those white eyes.

It wasn't you, was it? You didn't do that, do you?

The voice startled him a bit, especially since her mouth wasn't moving. She also sounded stronger than she had mere moments ago, certainly not like she was dying. He tilted his head a bit in confusion, only to realize that the voice he was hearing was not coming from the physical body in front of him.

Just as unexpectedly, her struggling resumed.

No. No. Stop. Stop it, Zodiac.

He heard her again, louder this time, as if screaming at him. Yet she wasn't speaking, her throat now a gaping wound once he moved his hand a bit. For the first time his grip on her faltered, her voice repeating in his mind.. again and again.. louder each time.

The sound of gunfire caused him to look up. He was on the ground, covered in dirt. Slain comrades surrounded him on the battlefield, their mech fluid pooling around him. Someone was approaching. He couldn't see them, but he could hear their footsteps getting closer. They demanded that he got up, poking his backside with their weapons as they did. He did as they demanded, standing up quite steadily despite the damage he had received. One of the soldiers slammed the blunt portion of their rifle against his neck, forcing him back down again.

They laughed. Mocked him. Taunted him. He could feel his hands clench into fists, his anger rising. He attacked them, taking them down with his bare hands before they could even understand what had happened.

The memory faded. In its place another, more frightening scenario took its place. He was strapped down to a table, scientists working on him. They looked puzzled, as if they were not sure what to make of the person in front of them. Oddly he didn't recognize these scientists, they weren't the ones he had gotten to know so well.

"She is waking up," one of them said, his voice fading quickly into a background of the war zone again.

She..

He looked at his hands, only to realize they were white in color and much more feminine than his.. Unless, of course, he was in a female disguise. But somehow it didn't feel like it, in fact he couldn't even sense his nanomachines at all. Instead he felt.. different.. strange voices he'd never heard whispering in his head.

A green meadow briefly appeared, and images of Optimus and another male he didn't recognize, flashed through his mind.

His mouth must have dropped open in confusion, for the look he gave the female in his grasp was a completely lost one. An overwhelming sense of devotion, calmness, and caring overcame him for a brief moment, temporarily displacing his own hatred and anger. He shook his head, his grip on her loosening a bit more.

These were not his memories or emotions.. They were hers!

He didn't have any more time to ponder it, however, before Rhinox forcefully slammed into him and forced him to break his grip on the female. He had not been prepared for it, and his mind was still a haze from what he had just experienced, so he was actually not that difficult to push away. Then the sudden surge of energy pulsed through his circuits, Rhinox having used his tool on him to subdue him.

Zodiac grimaced a bit in pain, however the surge wasn't powerful enough to really affect him this time. It did leave him staggering for a moment, however, and as the surge passed he was barely able to keep himself standing up.

Dirge's signal that he was ready caught his attention, clearing his mind of the haze he felt as a result of his unexpected mind-meld and consequent electric shock. Zodiac cast a last glance at the two Maximals, still not entirely sure what just happened, before he started making his way closer to the opening to join up with Dirge. As if on cue, however, a steady rain of shots started pouring in through the opening just as the shapeshifter was about to leave. He took cover behind the still intact wall on the side of it, briefly glancing out at the airborne attackers.

Predacons.. Of course.

Deciding he would have a better chance at destroying all his nuisances at a later time, he straightened out and let his nanomachines start the process of altering his form to one more familiar to the Predacons.. Namely that of Megatron himself. It had not appeared that Megatron was among them, and he did glimpse the tyrant's loyal but dimwitted fire ant among the attackers. Once all the details were finalized, he stepped out through the hole in plain view of the Predacons.

Landslide crashed down to the ground with a loud thud, tearing up some of the ground on impact. His body smoked, being no longer electrocuted, his systems having blown some fuses as they were intended to prevent circuit damage. Landslide's optics flickered as he leaned his head up with a moan Ohh.. My aching servos.. he muttered aloud, then his head dropped back blacking out for a moment.

Waspinator flew low dropping Quickstrike off onto the ground, then flew up transforming to his robot mode and joined Inferno and Terrorsaur in starting to fire on the Axalon, aiming at some of the autoguns as he feared the possibility of them turning on the group and opening fire from many past experiences.

Quickstrike raised his arm about to open fire when he noticed Megatron show up at the hole in the Axalon Boss bot? What are you doin' here? Quickstrike then said aloud.

Optimal Optimus Primal wrote:Do I... care...? he asked himself, seemingly bewildered. If taking his life meant saving my Maximals, wouldn't it be the right thing to do? Wouldn't it be right to stop all of this? He's the one who wants to kill everyone and get his own sick gratification from it! I know I shouldn't, but if anyone should have to, it should be me. I'm the reason he's here threatening all of you. And who knows if he was being honest about Nexus. Nexus... who kept everything a secret from me. ...He's here for me. Why shouldn't I just surrender to him and let him take my life? I was more than willing to let Megatron take the same action merely days ago. Megatron... There was a possibility... The enemy of my enemy is my friend...
She had heard Optimus' thoughts before she had blocked the connection earlier. Zodiac continued to devour her, squeezing her neck to the point it might just break. Piece by piece, the nanomachines carried out their objection to tear her to bits. The liquefied state of her neck and chest continued on slowly to the rest of her body. She wondered what he meant by Nexus. Was Nexus Prime still alive? She didn't come into the conversation until a little while after it started, so maybe she missed some key information. She didn't know. When Optimus thought about surrendering himself, she immediately shook her head in disagreement. No. She couldn't let him do that. Not after what happened. Especially, after what happened. Zodiac... he would do anything to hurt him. she didn't want Optimus or anyone to feel anymore pain than has been done for the last few days.

Zodiac... She felt his emotions. He ignored her warnings. He didn't stop. He seemed to feel ecstatic about the suffering he was giving her. He was enjoying what he was doing and he wasn't going to stop because she was telling him not to. So used to the pain given to him by others that he was enjoying the pain he was giving to her. She knew he wanted to make her suffer not just because of what she was doing or her talks, but because he wanted Optimus to see what he did to her. That made her more determined than ever to stop Zodiac.

The green meadow appeared and disappeared periodically, symbolizing her constant battle to keep Zodiac from getting anything she didn't want him to see. Stuff that he could use against her and her comrades. As well as some personal stuff she wished to remain closed, at least until she was ready.

TyCross knew what was happening. He was far away. Not moving a muscle, but she didn't have to see his face to feel the feelings of enormous fury flooding his entire being.

She shook her head. No interference.

She stared at Zodiac's face, noticing a slight change in expression. The green meadow appeared again. He seemed to be experiencing something, but what was he seeing? Just like what she saw in his own memories? Or was it one of her own?

Whispers slowly began to get louder and louder. That language. It seemed to be gibberish. Cybertronian yet there was something odd in the pronunciations of different words. It was confusing. But it was familiar. She had heard those voices before.

She wondered if Zodiac was hearing this. She looked upon him. There was a calmness in his expression she didn't see from him before. Was he...

Her head started to hurt. It felt like a hammer was smashing into her core processor. Loud. She was back in Zodiac's memory. Staring at the unconscious body of Optimus, the weapon still on the ground, but the memory was stopped. Like time had just stopped. Except she could move. Those chantings, those whispers, they began to get louder than get quieter. She followed it in the carnage of the burning outpost.

This... This wasn't Zodiac's memories anymore. She could feel it. Zodiac said he didn't have a chance in killing Optimus. She knew this wasn't what had happened. This... this was her. Her own mind and soul using Zodiac's memories. Something... or someone was calling her to do this. Wanting to show her something.

She followed the whispers and chanting into somewhere else. Not the Outpost. Cybertron. Just a huge metal door opening in front of her slowly to reveal...

Rhinox attacked Zodiac. She dropped to her knees. Her hand over her neck, bending over to the point her forehead touched the Axalon's metal floor.

Did you see it now? Do you see what you have wrought? What they had wrought? How many more lessons do I have to teach you before you start listening to me?

The green meadow changed into a stormy sky. It was pouring rain. Getting darker and darker.

I see now.

But not what TyCross wanted her to see it as.

I will deal with this later. Right now, I need to focus on them.

And she needed to speak to Optimus. He needed to know. So did Zodiac.

She kept herself bowed. Her neck and chest area was a wreck, but that wasn't the end. The nanomachines... Once they lost the connection with their master, they were going haywire. Not knowing what to do. Their programming went static. They were going around inside her body. She grunted. The nanomachines continued their last objective. Even if their last objective was missing. Burning sensation intensified. She gurgled once more. Her spark glowed heavily through her chestplate and neck. Pain overcame her entire body, causing her hands to go into fists. She kept her face hidden, but because of her back and forth with Zodiac, the expressions on her face went from a burning, furious anger, a desire to rip the souls that hurt her and those she loved. Then disgust.

Three holes on her back shine in blue and slowly, the nanomachines.... fixed it. She felt the burning, and the healing... Her spark's light dimmed slowly as the chest area was being repaired as well as her neck. When the nanomachines were in their final moments, her hands went back into a relaxed position. She slowly got up. The expression on her face changed from a concern uncertainty, sorrow, then back to her normal calm and composed self. She let out a sigh.

She turned to Rhinox and smiled, "Thank you." Her voice seemed a bit distorted.

Zodiac stared at them. She stared back, seeing him shapeshift into Megatron. She didn't what to do. Should she try to stop him? Or should she let him go? As shots were being fired, Predacons outside. More fighting it would seem. At least, she felt like she could.
If taking his life meant saving my Maximals, wouldn't it be the right thing to do? Wouldn't it be right to stop all of this?
She didn't unblock her connection towards Optimus. She was letting what had happened to her dwindle, so Optimus didn't burden himself. But one thing she wanted to do was to keep Optimus from killing Zodiac.

This was her failure. Her failure.

Dirge was watching his new master take pleasure in ending one the Maximal females, their technological superiority was in full effect, there wasn't anything that could stop them now. The Axalon's autoguns would not be able to hit Dirge from this angle so it was to his surprise that they started firing. The giant turned around to see Predacon flyers on approach. The unworthy... They opened fire on to the Maximal, Dirge moved out of the way as some of the stray shots hit him. Friendly fire, incompetence.

Dirge was about to act when he saw Megatron come through the hole in the ship and land on the ground in front of him. Dirge was aware that it was his master but was unsure what to do, this was not part of the plan. Optimus was still in the fray however he was not on point, he was distracted by something. Dirge charged his weapon ready to open fire. However he did nothing until he was told to.

OOC: Here's my post this week guys, hope its up to par, work has been a nightmare this week with the season peak, the kind of nonsense that just makes it hard for you to motivate and get things done afterwards cuz you just want to REST XD.

"So it has..." Megatron replied as he accepted the device, optics drinking in the sight of the massive pod containing the decepticon soldier he'd been waiting for, adding "As have you, well done Nemesis, where did you find this one?"

As he awaited her answer, he deposited the D-Tracer in his subspace pocket and examined his prize, the soldier contained within was a giant compared to the average modern Cybertronian, a force to be reckoned with for sure...Too bad the sleeping giant was also very outdated by Predacon standards and even if it wasn't, the soldier's form would be vulnerable to energon field buildup. Granted, most of the planet's energon had been transformed into stable energon cubes, so even non-transmetals had little to fear at this stage, but they wouldn't know the full limits of what even their transmetal forms could withstand until such a crisis befell them. Plus, Decepticons and Autobots were both gas guzzlers so to speak, Predacon frames were far more fuel efficient.

"You will do nicely my sleeping friend, yyyyeeesssss" Megatron mused as he began his work, hooking up various cables and equipment to the drowsing decepticon to ensure it would remain in stasis for the duration of the procedure he had planned, ordering "Nemesis, move those two blank protoforms to the vat behind me, our new friend will be unable to keep his current form, but that does not mean we have to downgrade him into a compact model now does it? Noooo."

The vat in question was filled with liquid akin to the protomatter the protoforms themselves were composed of, or perhaps more akin to the liquid found in the CR Tanks, either way, the vat was large enough to fit the two protoforms in nicely, and was connected to a rather ominous looking machine Megatron had apparently scrapped together by himself as one of his many secret projects he liked to keep private from his henchmen, a machine that in turn seemed connect to some manner of mold on the other end...

Inferno paused in his assault as his leader seemed to appear from out of the hole in the ship!

"My Queen! You have joined the battle! Why did you not contact me sooner?" Inferno said, pleased as could be to be in his leader's presence but confused as well given his master's earlier orders and sudden appearance on the scene, from the enemy base no less.

"Oh for Spark's sake" Terrorsaur snarled, annoyed by his comrade's stupidity in the face of Megatron's miraculous appearance on the scene as he wasted no time in opening fire upon him with his eyebeams.

"TRAITOR?! YOU DARE OPEN FIRE UPON THE ROYALTY?!" Inferno shrieked, turning to fire at the pterodactyl, who quickly dodged the slower insect's attacks and said "FOOL! Use your empty head! We left Megatron back at the DarkSyde remember? Does it make ANY SENSE whatsoever for your precious Royalty to suddenly appear out of nowhere from the Maximal base itself when we left him behind miles ago? There's no way he got here before us! That is clearly Zodiac down there, the shapeshifter!" Terrorsaur explained, furious that he even had to explain something so simple to the so-called Subcommander of the Predacons, what a joke.

"Well, I..." Inferno began to say, confusion etched on his face, torn between what little sense of logic he had and the instinct to punish Terrorsaur for a perceived slight against their leader.

"Oh forget it! See the truth for yourself! Quick strike, Waspinator! Do as I say and shoot "Megatron!" I know you've all dreamt of it once or twice!" Terrorsaur shouted, adding an extra dose of sarcasm to his tone when he said "Megatron," knowing they at least were smart enough to pick up on what he meant, the imposter wouldn't be able to keep up the act for long once they shot him full of holes, and with maximals and predacons all around them looking to snuff him out for good.

Terrorsaur opened fire with his shoulder missiles, determined to blow the fake Megatron to bits and prove he wasn't a normal Predacon, and get a great deal of satisfaction out of destroying someone who looked exactly like his hated leader in the process, seriously, of all the faces for him to hide behind...Then he noticed the massive insect Dirge and shouted "Hey Inferno, if you're still in doubt, shoot the bug next to him, he's a traitor too!"

Despite his confusion, Inferno understood that much at least, and yelled "FOR THE ROYALTY!!!" as he unleashed a torrent of high intensity flame at Dirge, intent to burn him alive as he had once done to Tarantulas not too long ago.

Even though Blackarachnia hadn't said anything, Rattrap crawled out from under the consoles and demanded her to, "Shut up and listen!" He sat there quietly for a moment, as rare of an occurrence as that was, listening intently to the noises outside. Dirge had grown silent, so distinguishing Primal's gun fire was easy to pick up. But there was something else... a familiar aviation sound... and yelling of familiar voices that he really didn't care to hear right now...
"And then you must...AHA! There it is everyone, the enemy colony! Remember the plan! AAAATTTTTAAAACCCCK!!!"
"Terrorsaur, TERRORIZE!"
"You gotta be kiddin' me!" the rodent said as he jumped up and pulled out his gun. Slagging Predacons! But now what was the she-spider going to do? Hide? Fight? Fight against the Maximals or against the Preds? He felt like he needed to watch his back now that her friends were there. Surely she wouldn't risk fighting with the Maximals now since it would make her an enemy to the Predacons and they wouldn't hesitate to dispose of her. It was a risky business no matter what your allegiance was in this war.

Leaning out of the smaller hole in the command center, Rattrap glanced down at Optimus who was near Dirge's feet.

Primal had been firing at Dirge's feet but apparently to no avail. Since the large bot had stopped adding damage to his vessel and just stood there like a scarecrow, Optimus turned his attention to the Predacons who started showing up out of no where. Terrific. As if things weren't bad enough, right? No, it had to be worse. Every time. It always had to get worse for him and his Maximals. Nothing could ever be easy. He was so tired of it. He was so tired of this war, constantly defending himself and his crew against impossible odds. Fury and rage boiled inside of him again. Even if Whitegrazer hadn't blocked their connection, she wouldn't have been able to aid him with the right words or offer him comfort or peace. Not this time.

Fortunately, none of the Predacons had taken notice of his presence, probably blocked by Dirge's large stature. Optimus looked up when he noticed Rattrap peeking out of the hole in the bridge's wall structure. He gave him a silent wave as a signal to open fire on Inferno, Waspinator and Terrorsaur and distract them. Then he quietly transformed to his vehicle mode and flew off to circle around the Axalon.

Nodding, Rattrap targeted the flying Predacons who were dangerously close to the hole that was made into the brig and thus too close to Rhinox and Whitegrazer - however they were dealing with Zodiac - and opened fire on them. "Hey, jerks! Nobody invited you to our house party!" I'm never gonna get dis power back on if I don't stop gettin' interrupted, he thought with great annoyance.
"Ahhh, its times like these that remind me why its good to be a predacon, heheheheheheh!"
Optimus flew around wide and then came up behind Terrorsaur while he was distracted with the auto-guns and now Rattrap's shots. He swung and rammed his hoverboard into the 'dactyl's side with the intention of shoving him into Inferno and Waspinator like a bowling ball into a two dim pins, hopefully knocking them around a bit if not temporarily out of the air. "Did that also remind you of why you're a Predacon?" he mocked Terrorsaur with hatred. Then he grabbed his clubs from his back with the anticipation of them focusing their fire power on him while he hovered there in mid air. "Get our shields back up, Rattrap!" he hollered at him.

The Spy nodded and ducked back inside of the command center, immediately returning to his work even though he thought it was hopeless by this point. But since Optimus was still fighting despite everything, he figured he better not give up and let everyone down.

"We're under Predacon attack!" the Maximal Commander alerted all of his Maximals through his comm. link to theirs. Then he saw Zodiac step through the hole, all cocky and defiant. Well, he was disguised as Megatron but he knew it was the shape shifter. Mixed emotions swirled inside of him like a tornado; disgust, fear, anger, concern. Where were Rhinox and Whitegrazer? Were they all right? Were they alive? What if... Now that he had escaped, what if... he killed them? He tried not to lose his focus. He had to keep his sights on the fliers.

Rhinox watched Zodiac closely. Something about him seemed dazed, but he knew his electrical stick tool couldn't have produced that much voltage to have that effect on him. Perhaps something had happened between him and Whitegrazer's Empath abilities and nanobots? He couldn't know for certain. Right now, though, he put himself between her and the shape-shifting pretender, dropping the stick and pulling out one of his chain guns again.
"Thank you."
The engineer looked at the mare when she spoke with her gurgled voice, watching her facial expressions, studying the unusual glow around her neck and the areas of her wounds that progressively healed rather quickly, even the ones on her back. He was a bit concerned considering how little they still knew about the technology, especially Zodiac's kind which seemed to be a little more advanced than Nemesis's, and so they didn't know the risks if there were any for those who didn't have the nano-machines and were suddenly infested with them. They still didn't have enough information on the gel Aurora had created and used on Optimus whom he assumed still had it integrated in his armor where it had been applied.

At this point, it might be wiser to just let Zodiac go. As much as Rhinox wanted to stop him and lock him up again, they just didn't have the resources to do it again right at the moment, especially with all of the Predacons attacking them now. Rhinox decided to chase him out, opening fire at Zodiac who had shifted into Megatron's appearance, moving toward him to encourage him to leave. He heard Optimus's voice nearby but presumed he was dealing with the other Predacons and wasn't close enough to the hole for Zodiac to pull any surprises. What ever happened to him with Whitegrazer, he hoped it was enough to make him think twice about hanging around and just leave. But this guy was pretty unpredictable. Some of Rhinox's stray bullets may have also struck the unsuspecting Predacons outside the hole before Optimus interfered with them even though, they, too, were apparently firing at Zodiac.
"Well, that's just prime!"

Blackarachnia was ready to slap this irriating rat and have him for dinner when he yelled at her again.

She made an "hmmph" noise, but she complied, listening to the gunshots outside. Was this over? She hoped it wasn't. Because she really wanted to go outside and blow off some stream.

Then just like Rattrap, she heard the screams of some familiar people. It sounded like Inferno and Terrorsaur! Oh joy! Her former comrades! They were here to rescue her! Yay!

Not!

Megatron must have decided to send some of his troops over to take advantage of the situation here. Unlike the obviousness of the Maximals, she knew Megatron must have spied on them, and being the vindictive slagger that she knew him to be, he sent some people over to try and crush a few bugs like Zodiac and... most definitely, her! Well, she wasn't going to let Megatron win this.

She made her choice here, and she wasn't a weakling to go crawling back on to those slaggers. She was still a Predacon, but she would not return there on her knees. She would return to the Darksyde to bring Megatron and tall, dark, and gruesome to their knees!

"I told you to get the shield back on, rodent!" She hissed at the rat before she got under the console. "You handle my former comrades in arms while I fix this travesty here!"

She flicked a few loose bugs and started making some type of plan as she tried to fix this slagging mess she was forced to work with. She needed tools. She needed tools. Her head swirled around a bit before she found what she needed, and started working. Hopefully, she would get the shields on. Right now, the MAximals were drawing their fire and taking hits. Better them than her.

(Okay..my internet is a little more stable now. Sorry for the wait. :()

Zodiac, now in Megatron's form, made his way outside to assess the situation. Even now his head was aching, flashes of old memories, ones that were not even his, appearing in his mind. He felt.. strange.. Somewhat exposed in a way, as if someone had invaded his mind. It wasn't unheard of that his nanomachines would connect him with the processor of his dying subject as he watched them take their final breath under his treatment, sometimes even letting him see fragments of their last conscious thoughts. This only occurred due to the two entities being on the brink of merging into one individual for that brief moment before the nanomachines completely overwhelmed their target and consumed their processor as well.

But not like this. Usually those memories were flighty, vague, and very brief before they faded into oblivion. These memories were different. Vibrantly brilliant, in a sense, as if he had truly experienced them. And they did not fade away like a dream after waking up. Instead they lingered. He remembered the voices clearly, the emotions, even the smells.

A faint chanting resurfaced in those same memories, growing stronger periodically. His head was pounding, a lingering whisper repeating in his mind. He had heard the words before.. They spoke of death and suffering, about how they were all expendable. He had seen it, or at least the aftermath of if, on Outpost 62. That day had sealed his fate as well as that of the Maximals.

Still, he fought the voices down. There was too much at stake for him to be distracted.

Dirge hovered over him, awaiting an order on how to proceed. The giant seemed no worse for wear despite the numerous shots that had been fired at him by multiple attackers. Optimus was looming nearby, albeit his attention seemed to be directed at the attacking Predacons. Ever so briefly the Predacons held their fire, a few speaking up in confusion when they saw their leader and commander emerge from the enemy base below.
Boss bot? What are you doin' here?
It was the pesky fuzor. Zodiac didn't have too many dealings with him but knew enough to realize he wasn't the sharpest tool in the box, so to speak. But simplistic as the fuzor was, he could still be useful.
"My Queen! You have joined the battle! Why did you not contact me sooner?"
The fire ant, one of Megatron's most trusted yet still dimwitted lackeys, spoke up next. The transmetal t-rex pretender showed a toothy grin. Clearing his voice to speak up, he was interrupted by incoming blasts from above that singed the ground dangerously close to his foot. Annoyed, he looked up to see Terrorsaur aiming at him.

"Hold your fire, you imbeciles!," he shouted after them as he pointed to Optimus, "I sent you here to destroy the Maximals! Start with him!"

He then turned his attention to Dirge, still lingering silently nearby. He gave him an approving nod as he opened a private channel to his underling.

"Kill the survivors," he told him as he started to make his exit while the rest were otherwise preoccupied. "Then return to the coordinates listed under Delta 14 in your protocols but make sure you are not followed. I will implement phase 3 in five cycles so return before then."

He gave Dirge a final, meaningful look, then continued making his way away from the Axalon.

Aurora had made it to a clearing that obviously had seen something fairly large crash through recently. Broken trees and the flattened grass made a fairly obvious trail that she could follow until she got to Landslide's location. The throw had been powerful enough to allow him to skid along the ground for quite a distance before he eventually came to a stop. Seeing him laying there, still smoking from the electrocution, she gulped as she rushed closer.

"Landslide! Are you okay?," she questioned him as she got closer, only to find that he was drifting in and out of consciousness. Judging by the damage done to him, she could only assume that some of his circuits had been fried. Well, she couldn't exactly carry him back to base, so her best option was to attempt to repair the worst damage right there. Fortunately she carried some tools on her person, so she climbed on top of Landslide and started to pry his chest plate open to make some repairs.
"As have you, well done Nemesis, where did you find this one?"
"In a swamp," she responded as she glanced down at her still dirty legs from having had to tread the murky waters to get to this one. "He was completely covered so I can only assume he's been offline for a while."
"Nemesis, move those two blank protoforms to the vat behind me, our new friend will be unable to keep his current form, but that does not mean we have to downgrade him into a compact model now does it? Noooo."
Two?

She wasn't quite sure what Megatron was up to, but she did as requested.

OOC: No worries Phoenix, though just so you know, Terrorsaur already fired at Zodiac, with a considerable amount of firepower, as opposed to just taking aim. Regardless, sorry for the wait guys, & hope this post checks out.

"A most unfitting resting place for the likes of my namesake's finest, but it does give me some ideas for his beast mode, yyyyeesssss" Megatron said as he continued about his work, caring little for how messy Nemesis was after wading in the swamplands for his prize, which was all that mattered to him.

She wasn't quite sure what Megatron was up to, but she did as requested.

Megatron finished making his adjustments to his equipment and then joined Nemesis by the vat and said "Now do as I do and all shall soon become clear."

Megatron removed one sparkless protoform from its capsule and dumped it into the vat, expecting Nemesis to do the same, watching with evil glee as the protoforms were melted down into a liquid, losing their shape and form and mixing together with the rest of the nano fluids in the vat.

"Phase one is complete, now for phase two..." Megatron said as he turned his attention back to the sleeping Decepticon, his face a mask of cold determination as he drew a crude but ominous looking device from his subspace pocket, another gizmo he'd been working on for just such an occasion, and perhaps for something more down the road whenever he could manage to scrounge up superior materials for it.

The device resembled a mechanical claw of some sort, complete with a handle with which to grip it, almost making it look like some sort of grasping toy, yet it gave off a vibe of being something much darker than that.

Megatron activated his jets and floated over his sleeping giant, the decepticon within having no idea of the evil presence looming over him or its intentions as it activated the claw.

"My apologies my friend, no doubt you never imagined your life could take a drastic turn such as this, and you no doubt served my namesake well, but in order for you to become a relevant player in the ongoing war to free our world of maximal oppression, the spawn of Optimus Prime and his hated ilk, I'm afraid drastic measures must be taken, but in the end, you WILL live to serve the name of Megatron again, and you WILL ultimately thank me for what I am about to do" Megatron said, for the decepticon's sake or his own no one could tell, but no doubt anyone in the room would be taken aback by the sight that followed, that of Megatron's ominous device reaching down to the sleeping Decepticon's chest, unleashing some strange form of withering, grasping energy...And somehow removing the decepticon's spark and holding it in its gasp like an arcade prize!

"Ah yyyyeeessss, there you are my friend, in your simplest, purest form, ready to rejoin the good fight?" Megatron inquired, speaking to the helpless, bodiless decepticon spark as though it were a pet to be humored rather than a sentient being, the spark pulsing excitedly as if it could hear its new master's words, though only Primus knew if the spark was pulsating with patriotism or fear and anger over what was being done to it.

"Oh yes, I'm going to like you once you're back online, I can already tell! Look Nemesis, this is the spark of a real soldier, the first of many that will rewrite history in he name of Predacons and Decepticons alike! In Megatron's name!" the tyrant gloated, leaving Nemesis to question whether he meant his own name or that of his ancestor as he floated down and said "Bring the body to the vat as well, he can't keep it but we can still add his original Decepticon materials to the mix so his new form will at least inherit his old form's durability. He'll appreciate every edge we can give him, yyyyyeeessss."

OOP wrote: Nodding, Rattrap targeted the flying Predacons who were dangerously close to the hole that was made into the brig and thus too close to Rhinox and Whitegrazer - however they were dealing with Zodiac - and opened fire on them. "Hey, jerks! Nobody invited you to our house party!" I'm never gonna get dis power back on if I don't stop gettin' interrupted, he thought with great annoyance.

"Foolish Rodent! BURN IN THE FIRES OF INFERNO! RRRRRAAAAWWWWRRR!" Inferno shrieked as he took a break from burning Dirge to directing his flames upon Rattrap, the rodent's measly firepower doing little to deter him.

"Rawk! Idiot! Ignore the rat! Zodiac's the one we need to take out!" Terrorsaur scolded as he blocked Rattrap's shots with his swords, firing back with his eye beams when he could, peeved that he had chosen now of all times to interrupt them when there was a freakish mutant on the loose that simply needed to DIE.

OOP wrote: Optimus flew around wide and then came up behind Terrorsaur while he was distracted with the auto-guns and now Rattrap's shots.

"RRRRAWWWK!" Terrorsaur screamed in pain as Primal's hoverboard sent him crashing into Waspinator and Inferno, the three flyers tumbling downward to the ground with a loud thud.

"No...But this does!" Terrorsaur spat back at Primal as he shoved his comrades off of him and fired his eye beams right at Primal, the force and intensity of the heat beams seeming to emphasize just how much the transmetal flyer despised the maximal leader.

"Primal...The Royalty will be pleased when I return to the colony with your smoldering remains!" the towering insect proudly proclaimed as he dusted himself off and joined Terrorsaur in concentrating their firepower upon the ape, fireballs, missiles, and lasers all converging on Optimus!

"Waspinator, Quickstrike! You heard what the dumb monkey said, get in there and stop the rat from reactivating the shields! SLAG HIM" Terrorsaur ordered harshly as he and Inferno returned to the skies, united in their hatred of Primal if not in their loyalties to Megatron, the two of them together posing a truly serious threat to be sure.

Terrorsaur wrote:"Oh forget it! See the truth for yourself! Quick strike, Waspinator! Do as I say and shoot "Megatron!" I know you've all dreamt of it once or twice!"

Quickstrike and Waspinator shrugged bringing up their weapons.
Optimus Primal wrote:"Did that also remind you of why you're a Predacon?"
Waspinator fell to the ground with the others, looking up at Optimus confused. Quickstrike looked towards the three with a raised optic ridge, now distracted by the three.

Waspinator got up rubbing his head while making a buzzing noise, then started to fly into the air towards the Axalon, Quickstrike starting to provide coverfire by shooting at the hole in the Axalon.

Landslide's head leaned up wobbling around a little as he heard Aurora, feeling the tiny robot trying to pry his chest armor open. An Audioble click was heard as his chest section popped up and over his head. Landslide's inner frame revealing some insectoid tissue, a smoking welding box attached around his stomach, his spark chamber above the arc welder, and a fuze box to the side with a few lights on signifying the blown fuzes, with some extra fuses placed near them not unlike the fuzebox on a car.

Ug.. I've had better days lass. I dun think he got into my vitals.. Landslide coughed a little, his left arm releasing his heavy shield, his fingertip then opened revealing the small manipulator inside of it as he pulled out one of the fuzes and replaced it, though he seemed to be going at a slowed pace doing the delicate task. Landslide then looked up as he noticed the firefight infront of the Axalon. More of em? Slag.. As it is we're outgunned. We need to get to the hanger and pick up the lightning laser.. There's also some weird ice guns you guys had laying around fer putting out fires.. those might help..

Whitegrazer noticed Rhinox's expression as she tried to collect herself. She was just as curious and wondering what the nanomachines inside her would do. Though, despite the fact they healed her, she was feeling uncomfortable. Edgy even. Something about this nanomachines, these foreign bodies inside of her, crawling inside her circuits and... doing nothing. That's right. She could see them in her own way. They were at a stand still. Almost frozen in place. What did that mean? Was it because they are unfamiliar with her body's design? But if that were true, why haven't they dissipated or heal her wounds in the first place? Hmm. She wondered. She wanted to find out, but that would have to wait.

Whispers. Voices. That language still calling to her. Something or someone was trying to draw her attention.

No, not now. She needed to focus. Everyone was in trouble.
Optimal Optimus Primal wrote:"We're under Predacon attack!"
She heard Optimus' voice. She put herself against the wall for cover, gunfire blazed passed her and hit the hallway, and peeked out the hole. She could see Inferno, Waspinator, Quickstrike, and Terrorsaur were here, firing on the defenseless Axalon and at them. She kept her optics on Zodiac, wondering what he would do as the Predacons seemed clearly to identify him as the shapeshifter. Not Megatron, who he was disguising himself as now.
Phoenix wrote:"Hold your fire, you imbeciles!," he shouted after them as he pointed to Optimus, "I sent you here to destroy the Maximals! Start with him!"
When Zodiac said those words, Whitegrazer didn't know why she shouldn't be so surprised of what he wanted the Predacons to do. She just shook her head in disappointment. She tried to warn him that the Predacons would come and seek revenge for his actions. Just as much as Megatron and the Predacons loved to kick the Maximals while they were down. Zodiac seemed to stare at Dirge. Something told her that wasn't good, wondering what was going on. If there was more than she realized. Zodiac seemed to try and make a getaway.

She peeked out. Optimus was fighting against two or three Predacons by himself. She needed to do something. She didn't have to have her connection unblock to see the fury, the anger written in Optimus' battle face. Everyone seemed to feel it, and even she was starting to as well. She didn't blame her comrades for being tired, exhausted of this games. This war. This was always something. Another battle. Another fight. And after everything they all went through, didn't they all deserve some peace and quiet? Some rejuvenation? A change to heal. A change to regain some sanity from the day's events.

She closed her optics. Her left arm started to twitch a bit. She looked at it, thinking that maybe she got hit or something, but there were was no sound of damage. Pain riddled her form. Those whispers again. Her optics squeezed tight in agony. It was those nanomachines again. She wanted to unblock her connection towards Optimus, but this... He didn't need this. Her left arm was glowing blue. That... How could that happen? Her arm wasn't injured. Her spark began to beat rapidly. Pounding against her chest to the point that the only thing she could hear was the sound of her own spark beating. Mumbled. Images flashed before her optics. A huge transwarp explosion. Optimus' unconscious body. Optimus' body exploding. Aurora's bleeding body. Optimus' tortured body and soul. That slagging spider trying to rip information out of his processor. Zodiac trying to devour her. Nexus Prime hitting her face with something. Each of the nanomachines ripping her metal form.

Her left hand clenched and shook. It felt like spikes were stabbing her.

I must regain control. I must focus. She focused on her spark. Ignoring the violent images flooding her processor, fears, rage, and desperation would do nothing but cause even more pain. Her emotions were turmoil. Part of her wanted to do things. Images, again flooded her, no, not images, desires... Desires to... to grab their... No, no more pain. Focus on the task at hand. Focus...on... Focus on... what is going on.

She took a breath and looked outside. Waspinator was firing overhead. Quickstrike was firing at the hole towards them. She kept herself behind the wall as cover. Optimus was being attacked by both Terrorsaur and Inferno, two formidable enemies. Dirge was stagnant for the time being. Where was Aurora and Landslide? She peeked out periodically. Trying to find them. Noticing they were a distance away. Out of the battlefield. So she was glad that Aurora and Landslide were out of harm's way for now. She prayed Aurora could heal the big Maximal as much she could. She believed in Aurora. She believed in Optimus. And the rest of the Axalon crew. They would make it out of this.

"Rhinox, can I borrow your electrical stick?" Whitegrazer asked over the shouts of the battle outside. With the electrical stick, she could use it as a defense as well as way to keep Quickstrike at bay and Dirge, if he made a move towards them or anyone else.

Dirge stood by in silence as he watches his master, now disguised as Megatron, he exited the Axalon. He stepped forth and began to command his so called underlings. Dirge took a few more stray hits from the flyers but then it suddenly stopped as they questioned the authenticity of their commander. His armour plates shifted like silk over his body, they hid the dramage that he had sustained in the battle. However he estimated that it would continue. The rescue at reached another junction, it would very much depend on these flyers. However the unexpected happened Optimus diverted his attention from his master to the other Predacons.

The order was given and Dirge knew he would go after first. Really there had only been a few who actually entered the battle. But there was one who had caused him more damage than the rest. Landslide. The big had left a trail of destruction as a result of the giant throwing him aside. Dirge broke off from the commotion and moved over to wear the Maximal had landed. He could see the trail but from his angle of approach all he could see was bushes covering where the Maximal had landed. The giant marched over and cleared the brush with his arms to be rewarded with an easy prize. The little female medic was working on her comrade and she wasn't aware of his presence. He reached down and plucked Aurora from her work. This was then followed by throwing her down to the ground behind him. She was defenceless against him, crumpled in a heap below the gaze of his single red eye. Dirge brought his cannon arm in line with her and twisted it slightly as he prepared to fire. Another Maximal wiped from existence.

Suddenly there was rustling in the bushes which got more violent as it got closer and closer to Dirge. Dirge was concentrating on his target when the disturbance erupted from the brush and turned out to be a large four legged creature. It clamped its jaws on Dirge's cannon and swung it out of harms way. The animal bit and tore into the fire arm causing severe damage.

Dirge moved uncontrollably as he struggled with the creature he hadn't quite recognised. He grabbed hold of its neck and tried to pull it off his arm. The giant pulled hard causing the teeth to cut through making even more damage. Eventually he was free and threw the creature in front of him. It was that honey badger.

Ironclaw transformed in mid air and landed on all fours in front of Aurora, kicking up a bit of dust. He'd already locked eyes with Dirge ready to resume his engagement. Ironclaw rose slowly. He spread his fingers out and turned his hand to show Aurora his palm. Symbolising that he wanted to stay there. He would defend her against this giant. In fact he would do more than that. The badger's demeanour had completely changed. He was poised, focussed, less animal like and more like a solider, like a hunter, a professional

The tension built as the two faced off. Dirge broke the stand off first and thrusted his fist forward.

Ironclaw reacted immediately smashing the fist upwards and charged him. Making contact with his left shoulder first, pushing Dirge back. The Maximal followed up with a kick to the knee and two punches, swinging his first round with speed at his enemies head. The Predacon tried to counter attack by swiping at head height with free arm. Ducking quickly, the attack missed Ironclaw narrowly and popped back up with his wrist cannon deployed and shot Dirge right in his single eye. The giant recoiled suddenly, going down to one knee and covering his face with his hand. Ironclaw slowly took a few steps as he watched his crippled foe.

As if by some strange science Dirge rose from what seemed a feeble and stood looking down at both of them. His damaged eye dislocated itself then got sucked into his body to only be replaced by a fully functioning eye. This didn't phase Ironclaw, he was aware that his targets has such capabilities. Dirge then rushed the badger trying to take him by surprise. He successfully brought his leg up and kicked Ironclaw right over Aurora and through a tree. The tree then collapsing to side causing branches to fly every where.

Satisfied with that kick, Dirge moved over to Aurora to finish the kill. He was about to reach down when he was hit by an electric pulse. His movements slowed almost to a halt.
Ironclaw had transformed into his third form, his turret form. The weapon charged with a buzzing sound then let loose a few rounds. The rounds thundered through the air and struck the giant looming over Aurora. The electricity hampered his systems most importantly his movement. Ironclaw transformed into his robot mode "Your fate is sealed monster". The badger charged at full speed towards Dirge as he creaked and shrieked trying to move. It was too late, Ironclaw let out a rageful shout and dove into Dirge, forcing him to the ground. For a moment they were just a mess as Ironclaw punched and clawed his way at his prey beneath. His rage was able to take control, intensifying his focus and attacks, it was relentless. Dirge struggled to keep up with him, though at one point he managed to knock Ironclaw off him to gain a small reprieve. He had not faced anything like this before, he could not comprehend this situation that was unfolding. This individual being here could not been a coincidence. The way he fought and what weapons he had available, it's like he knew his weaknesses, their weaknesses. Despite this he gave a last ditche effort to survive. He pointed his cannon forward only to have bent in his own direction and then discharge a blast into his shoulder. More signs of his armour system being completely out of control. He suddenly changed into his beast mode without will, he lunged forward trying to bite Ironclaw. However the hunters training was to his avail as he evaded the large jaws and was able to grab hold of hellgramite's and swing himself above him. This allowed him to come crashing down on the insects head and thus against the hard earth. When Dirge hit the ground he suddenly changed back into his robot mode. As the plates relocated the badge got the briefest glimpse of Dirge's spark chamber, it was there, just like any other Predacon. Ironclaw knew what he had to do, now that his defences were low. The crippled Predacon forced them both into a standing position as the badger swiped his large clawed hand through Dirge's chest region. A current of electricity flowed through his claws as he did, this caused the armour plates to seperate and expose the spark chamber. His target was in sight! Claws pointed forward he drove them forward right into that spark chamber and then pulled as hard as he could. The giant seemed to come alive again, his grabbed hold of Ironclaw's head trying to force him away but the badger would not. He pulled away and as if in slow motion, the front panel of the spark chamber gave way to reveal Dirge's spark. It sat there, pulsating each one was a sight to behold, but not for Ironclaw. He darted his hand back in there but again Dirge clings onto life. All the thousands of plates rushed to that spot and trapped the badger's wrist, others rushed into him and started biting into him. He yelled in pain as they covered his face, arms and chest. Dirge held for dear life until Ironclaw yelled as loudly as he could, igniting another spark of electricity from his hand. The plates scatterd for just a few seconds leaving him free to reach forth and close his hand around the spark that gave his enemy life. He squeezed his hand around the spark and the electricity exinguished the spark.

For a moment there was just silence. Until the large form slumped over Ironclaw and he pushed him aside. It took him a few seconds to gain his composure then he walked over to Aurora who was probably traumatised by what she just saw. "On your feet" he said humbly looking over to where Landslide was, "let's take you home" he offered her his hand.

(( OOC: Great posts, everyone! ))
"I told you to get the shield back on, rodent!"
"And I told YOU dat it ain't no point 'n click!" He harmlessly pushed her away from him when she started trying to do his job like two toddlers scuffling over a toy.
"You handle my former comrades in arms while I fix this travesty here!"
"Foolish Rodent! BURN IN THE FIRES OF INFERNO! RRRRRAAAAWWWWRRR!"
Heat and flame suddenly started to swelter the command center, which forced Rattrap to reluctantly abandon his order from Optimus and instead leave it to Blackarachnia. "You better not make things worse," the rodent grimly warned the black widow, whom he didn't trust as far as he could throw her, as he slid away from her under the consoles and grabbed his weapon, taking cover by the large round table in the center of the room and returning fire at Inferno through the hole in the hull of the bridge.
"RRRRAWWWK!"
Primal watched Terrorsaur slam into the other fliers and crash on to the ground, satisfied, but readied himself for their predictable onslaught out of anger as he hovered there, his clubs gripped tightly in his hands. All he wanted to do was draw their fire power away from the Axalon so that they could recover the shields and reduce any added damage. Optimus had succeeded but now he faced three Predacons with powerful weapons.
"Hold your fire, you imbeciles!," "I sent you here to destroy the Maximals! Start with him!"
Primal's pink optics shifted from Zodiac dressed as Megatron - glaring at him pointing at him - and back to the three stooges.
"No...But this does!"
By "no" Terrorsaur meant yes, of course. The leader almost chuckled at himself had the situation not been so serious. Perhaps he was losing his mind because how was any of this comical? Optimus managed to shield himself from Terrorsaur's lasers by using his clubs to deflect the heavy beams toward Dirge with the slight possibility of the slower bot mistaking them for friendly-turned-traitor gun fire. With any luck, Dirge would turn his weapons on Terrorsaur and distract him. However, the TransMetal 'dactyl's lasers were too strong to allow Primal to remain in this position. They gradually pushed him backwards in the air and he could feel the handles of his clubs growing hotter and hotter in his hands, eventually starting to glow a reddish-orange hue. If he kept this up, Terrorsaur's eye lasers were going to melt them. So the Maximal quickly lowered his twin clubs and dropped out of the air for a moment to dodge the steady streams of doom. This Predacon had always been a thorn in his side. "Three against one... Hardly seems fair," he commented, not surprised.
"Primal...The Royalty will be pleased when I return to the colony with your smoldering remains!"
"I've heard all of this countless times before," Optimus dismissively told Inferno as if his threats meant absolutely nothing to him to purposely antagonize the ant. Of course, he may have bitten off more than he could chew when he was suddenly confronted by diverse ammunition from both him and Terrorsaur. He had no choice but to go on the defensive and turn to fly away before the barrage hammered him. One shot skimmed his shoulder while another hit his hover board and sent him tumbling through the air. Primal managed to stop himself and level himself out, still gripping on to his clubs, regaining his composure and taking a moment to check his injuries. Nothing vital was hit nor did it impair his hover board's flight abilities. He rolled his shoulder which ached and had a scorched streak across it but he looked back at the Predacons to make sure they were following him. He pretended to be shaken up, to make himself look vulnerable like an easy target for them since they were so eager to destroy him. Not too far away on the ground, he spotted Aurora assisting Landslide who seemed to be functioning which was a relief, but Optimus would make sure to keep these two trigger-happy imbeciles away from his comrades until they were ready to join the fray. Little did he know that Dirge was making his way toward them as he turned all the way around to face the two fliers. Rattrap should be able to hold off Waspinator and Quickstrike, and hopefully Rhinox and Whitegrazer were still alive and able to defend their base of operations as well, but he wasn't certain. The mare's fate was unknown to him since he assumed she had temporarily severed their bond for whatever reason, but since it didn't feel like a part of his spark had been blown out like a candle, she couldn't be dead... Rhinox's gun fire toward the fake Megatron suggested he was still managing as well. There was still hope even though Zodiac was free once more...
"Waspinator, Quickstrike! You heard what the dumb monkey said, get in there and stop the rat from reactivating the shields! SLAG HIM"
Rattrap scoffed at Terrorsaur's orders and wielded a hub cap with his free hand while his other hand still grasped his gun. He got up from behind the round console and moved closer to the hole, placing himself between them and Blackarachnia. Primus help him, he was actually defending the spider while she worked on their electronics and power. He was also trying to hide her from them so they wouldn't notice that she was there or even trying to help the Maximals. Since it was a smaller hole than the one by the brig that Dirge had made, it was easier for Rattrap to cover most of it and keep the Predacons from entering. After ricocheting some of Waspinator's shots with his hub cap shield, the Spy started firing at the Fuzor and the wasp with as many accurate shots as possible, aiming for Waspinator's wings and Quickstrike's cobra head weapon because he really didn't feel like being paralyzed.
"Rhinox, can I borrow your electrical stick?"
Without thinking twice about her request, Rhinox paused his gun fire and gently kicked the stick over to Whitegrazer who still seemed to be gathering herself. At least, that's what he hoped was going on with her. Her wounds still appeared to be healing on their own, and she seemed a bit distracted, or dazed like Zodiac was. Watching her ball her hand into a fist as it trembled, he really wanted to know what happened but now was not the time to discuss it.
"Kill the survivors," "Then return to the coordinates listed under Delta 14 in your protocols but make sure you are not followed. I will implement phase 3 in five cycles so return before then."
The engineer watched "Megatron" retreat as he peered out of the hole that he had just used to escape, pondering the orders he had delivered to Dirge. "We need to figure out a way to wound Dirge and make him retreat," Rhinox said, glancing at Whitegrazer. But since he didn't know much about the big brute, he was uncertain about any weaknesses he had besides his slower movements and below average intelligence. Just then, as if by a miracle, Dirge moved away from the base and toward something or someone else. But who? It was difficult to see around his large body as he approached two bots on the ground. Landslide and Aurora...? He wanted to warn them and help them but something else happened. "Ironclaw...?" he asked out loud in disbelief as he watched the TransMetal badger suddenly appear out of no where and come to their rescue. Now that there was no threat to the Axalon except for Waspinator and Quickstike, Rhinox told Whitegrazer, "We should move to the command center and lend a hand to Rattrap. If you're up to it." To him, it suddenly felt like they had a chance to turn this around. Oddly enough, Ironclaw's appearance gave him that hope. With that, he put his large gun away and helped Whitegrazer to her feet by gently taking her hands. Then he started to head to the bridge.
"Well, that's just prime!"

(ooc: For the record I had posted that someone was shooting at Zodiac and the shorts hit the ground close to him, not just that Terrorsaur was aiming at him)

Zodiac had abandoned his Megatron disguise for something less conspicuous so that he was less likely to draw attention to himself as he made his way away from the Axalon. Due to the higher than normal activity level in the sky, he chose to stay on the ground. Now disguised as a member of the local wildlife, if somewhat bigger than the average wolf, he was able to maneuver fairly quickly through the lush environment.

He was making decent speed and started feeling better as he got further away from the base. His head was clearing up as well, and wasn't pounding the way it had been during and immediately after his attempt at killing the white mare. Hopefully it had been nothing more than stress that had caused him to feel that way, even though he normally dealt better with stressful situations than most. Whatever had happened, he was free now. Free to implement the last stage of the plan, the back-up he had in place in the off chance that his original idea failed. It wouldn't grant him the same sense of satisfaction as Optimus being the one to kill off his Maximals, but it would certainly get the job done.

Fortunately he didn't have to travel too far to get to his destination. When at a safe distance, he would fly the rest of the way.

He decided to stop when he reached the top of a tall hill with a clear view over the Axalon and surrounding area. There he changed into his Darkwind disguise and pulled out his sniper rifle. Its scope would allow him to see how Dirge was doing in his mission to kill off the pesky attackers.
Ug.. I've had better days lass. I dun think he got into my vitals..
Aurora could not hold back a smile as the large beetle yet again proved just how durable he was. As he opened his hatch for her, she quickly got to work on the wires inside.
More of em? Slag.. As it is we're outgunned. We need to get to the hanger and pick up the lightning laser.. There's also some weird ice guns you guys had laying around fer putting out fires.. those might help..
"Hold on," she told him, a small welding tool currently in her hand, "It won't take long to.."

She felt the ground shake a little but paid it no heed, far too preoccupied with her doing the repairs. That is until a large hand snatched her up, its fingers coiling around her and squeezing her dangerously tight to the point she was gasping for air. She twisted to look at who had grabbed her, only to get flung to the ground by the attacker.

Aurora let out a whimper as she slammed to the ground, curled up in a heap and glancing up at the large figure that had grabbed her. His cannon was aiming at her, ready to fire. Aurora closed her optics, clenching them shut tightly, not wanting to watch the surely fatal blow.

A blow which never came. Instead she heard grunts of pain and the sounds of a battle raging so close they were almost on top of her. She partially opened one optic, not sure what to expect.

It was Ironclaw. His claws and teeth were fiercely ripping at his foe, tearing at his metal, inflicting a number of wounds that were almost immediately covered up by the ever changing armor plating. The little fuzor gasped in surprise and scrambled to move away from the two fighters.

A moment later it seemed that Dirge had gotten the upper hand, and Ironclaw disappeared into the trees after a well-placed kick by Dirge sent him flying. The lumbering attacker then turned his attention back to her, preparing his weapon to shoot. Aurora averted her eyes.

She heard a shot being fired, but to her surprise she felt no pain. Surely a blast by that cannon at this close of a range would instantly kill her, but she seemed to be fully functional. Slowly she looked back, only to see Dirge stagger in pain from a blast to his backside. Again Ironclaw was coming to the rescue.
"Your fate is sealed monster".
As the two continued their battle, Aurora finally scrambled to her feet and took a few steps backwards. Ironclaw was on top, definitely the aggressor of the two at the moment. If anything Dirge's movements appeared defensive, increasingly frantic, and quite frankly.. uncontrollable. If anything he was unable to maintain his form.

Ironclaw went for the spark chamber. It seemed to take a couple of tries but within a few nanoclicks, the transmetal badger was standing there with the spark in his hand. A moment later it was over, the spark succumbing to the electrical sparks coming from Ironclaw's hand. Dirge's lifeless body sank together. Around the same time, Aurora's legs gave out and she went to a kneeling position on the ground.

Had he just..?

A quick glance at Dirge's now still form revealed the truth.

He did.

Ironclaw came towards her, extending his hand that he had just used to distinguish their foe's spark, to her.
"On your feet"
She placed her own shaking hand in his, letting him pull her up. But her mind was blown by what had just occurred here.
"let's fly you home"
"You.. killed him," she muttered incoherently, taking a shaky step towards Dirge's dead form. She really didn't know what to believe right now. Death was never a good thing, even when it was someone as dangerous as Dirge. It was not a very Maximal approach, but as she was starting to understand, Ironclaw was far from a typical Maximal.

Zodiac slowly lowered his sniper rifle, having just witnessed his unstoppable soldier get taken down. No, not taken down.. killed. His spark extinguished by that badger. The shapeshifter had come very close to pulling the trigger when that happened, but a voice of reason told him that it would only alert the Maximals of his whereabouts if he did so. He clenched his fists so tightly they shook, almost cracking the armor of his palms in the process, his optics narrowing as he gazed down on the base.

So Dirge was gone. Night Terror too. He truly was alone now.

Anger rising within, he silently cursed the Maximals for what they had done. They would pay, they would all pay for this!

Dirge had not been exactly the same as Zodiac, not to the same extent. But his technology was similar and it, too, had been considered breakthrough science of its time. Not quite as advanced, but close enough for Zodiac to consider him one of his own.

The armor on his palms started to break open from the continuous strain of his clenched fists, forcing Zodiac to finally open his fists when it started to hurt. He grimaced slightly at the sight of his hands, the nanomachines already repairing the damage in rapid succession.

Well.. Without Dirge, he would have to move up his plan.

He walked to the other side of the plateau, his armor changing his shape as he walked. A few seconds later, the dark dragon took off into the sky and flew off at raging speeds.
For a moment Nemesis wondered if she had turned invisible. Megatron's attention was solely on the fallen Decepticon soldier and not the other Decepticon, and she still considered herself such even if she didn't look like one anymore. Gratitude truly was a lost art among Predacons.

"It'll be my pleasure," she responded, not caring if Megatron could detect a bit of sarcasm in her voice. She doubted he'd care, as long as she did as he commanded. And for the time being their goals were the same, both wanted to preserve the Decepticons and give them a new chance at life. A new beginning for their kind, one that would alter the course of history.

She moved the body as requested, thankful it was still resting on the hover platforms. For the time being Megatron was busy playing the mad scientist, and she was content to let him do so since she had hopes the results would be worthwhile.
