WEAPONS:
Fusion cannon/Whiplash Cutlass: Megatron's Primary weapon, capable of being manipulated like a tentacle with the claw grabbing and crushing things in it's grasp, the end fires lower powered bursts of fusion energy but can also fire high powered charge shots capable of incredible destruction. Also doubles as a laser disc player.

Name: Optimus Primal
Current player: Optimal Optimus Primal
Allegiance: Maximal
Function: Leader
Beast Mode: TransMetal Gorilla
Vehicle Mode: Hover board
Height: 9' 8" (robot mode)
Quote: "Well, that's just prime."
Strength: 9
Intelligence: 9
Speed: 7
Endurance: 8
Rank: Commanding Officer
Courage: 10
Firepower: 8
Skill: 9
PERSONALITY:
Optimus began this war as an inexperienced leader on the younger side of life which also forced him to gain more confidence in himself and his abilities over a short amount of time. His greatest traits are his optimism, compassion, selflessness and empathy. Unlike Optimus Prime, Primal is much warmer toward his crew, more lenient, and much more "human" in nature than robot. His is kind and fair, but that doesn't mean he is devoid of keeping his Maximals focused and making sure everyone is doing their part and obeying his orders. His approach to leadership can often be considered unorthodox, but more often than not, it proves to be successful and keeps his crew tight and dependable on each other. He can be a bit of a hard-head at times, and even easy to anger, but he can just as quickly calm down and reexamine his emotions accordingly. He's not afraid or ashamed to be mistaken at times since he sees it more as a learning curve with his development in his unique position rather than a flaw. He encourages input from his crew and listens to them when they speak, whether it's while on duty or in private. Primal's mind is a vault of information and even some secrets, both personal and professional, which proves his trustworthiness. Although he is far from suicidal, he will do anything to protect and save his Maximals, even if it costs him his life.
WEAPONS:
2X TransMetal Mace: Two heavy mace well suited for smashing or rendering armor, due to Primal's great strength these weapons can be swung as swiftly as a baton or sword, allowing him to deflect and parry energy blasts or melee attacks with ease. These weapons can also be used in beast mode.
Hand cannon: A very large barrel pistol that fires plasma blasts.
Anti turret guns: Drawn from his back combined from his TransMetal maces, these duel mini-guns are equipped with a holographic sight and fires a rapid stream of high power blasts of plasma energy, comparable to the Axalon's own defense turrets. Well suited for shooting down fliers or holding off even the strongest of land forces.
ABILITIES:
Limited flight: In robot mode, Optimus Primal can hover with jets on his legs allowing for easier navigation of rough or vertical terrain, but is much slower in regards of horizontal movement.
TransMetal mode with hoverboard: Equipped with a hoverboard in his beast mode, he can swiftly move through the air as if surfing or skateboarding, small wheels under the board allow even traveling on land, though probably never used. Due to the impressive thrust of the board, Primal can easily allow one of the larger Maximals to ride on the front of his board safely.
WEAKNESSES:
BIO:
Once a well respected scientist on Cybertron, Optimus Primal had served as an apprentice under Nexus Prime's guidance in the development of unethical and immoral subjects, including the creation of a rare shape shifter known as Zodiac. Although he was more of a "pencil pusher" at that time, he did offer new and progressive ideas for never before explored experiments. Quickly climbing high through the ranks, he eventually landed himself as the chief supervisor over Protoform X's creation, successfully manipulating and evolving an allegedly indestructible spark similar to that of Starscream's. However, Optimus began to feel guilty about the experiments he had been involved with. The screams from the subjects who writhed in pain and agony haunted his compassion and empathy, and he quickly started to question the intentions behind the corrupted Maximal High Council who were instructing and overseeing these projects for their own benefit. After the escapes and lives lost by Zodiac's and X's murderous hands, Primal was on the verge of becoming a whistle blower for the Elders' "crimes" behind closed doors.
Allegedly, in order to keep Optimus quiet, they immediately granted him his greatest ambition; to be the captain of a space exploration crew with his very own vessel, the Axalon. It had become quite evident that he was capable of leadership, and as young and impressionable as he was at the time, he welcomed the opportunity. It was a dream come true. Of course, it came with strings, such as his very own creation, Protoform X, having been loaded onto the ship after he had been recaptured and subdued into stasis lock and sealed inside of a stasis pod. Part of Primal's mission was to dump X some where deep in the universe on some barren planet where even if he was miraculously reactivated, he would be contained on that world with no way to escape. Optimus accepted this dark secret as it was his burden to bear confident that he would succeed. It is unknown if the Council had anticipated X reactivating within the ship in order to decimate its crew effectively silencing all who knew about him and the one who created him and threatened to let all of Cybertron know about who was responsible for his existence and for those innocent souls that he had slayed on Colony Omicron.
As if it had all been planned to "cut certain ties and loose ends", Primal and his new crew were tested almost immediately after their departure from Cybertron and ordered by the High Council to chase down the rogue, Megatron, who had stolen a vessel with his own crew as well as the golden disk known as the Sounds of Earth. Locking on to the Darksyde, the Maximals obeyed the command and followed the Predacons into space in an attempt to stop them from escaping even though their ship was clearly not built for war, but they were the only ones close enough to intervene. The Axalon had locked onto the Darksyde's transwarp signature which had sent them both traveling through space and time. As they approached a blue planet after their jump, in a desperate attempt to stop Megatron, both vessels were damaged from the exchange of firepower and crash landed onto the prehistoric planet that was rich with raw energon and had two moons in its orbit.
Despite his namesake and ancestor, Optimus Prime, Optimus Primal never intended to be a leader in a war. He was a scientist first, although he did have some military background from the academy, however, exploration to satisfy his curiosity and to study new worlds was his main interest. He never expected himself to be stranded in a war for survival against one of the most ruthless and cunning Predacons known on Cybertron without any communication with their home planet. He was on his own without any guidance from his mentor, Nexus Prime, who would have had all of the experience required for such a situation, and without any higher authority to jail or punish the Predacons who sought violence and even death. Surviving the crash with his crew after being forced to eject all of the Axalon's stasis pods into orbit in case the vessel would be destroyed upon impact, Optimus was thrown into the leadership position that he was very inexperienced with. His crew were explorers and scientists, not soldiers and warriors. Granted, a couple of them had some experience from past confrontations, but this was a role that was entirely new to him, and he had to earn some of their respect and trust while he learned along the way. It was not an easy transition, but his reputation quickly escalated as being one of the most compassionate, selfless and successful leaders known to most Maximals to have endured such impossible odds with limited resources.

I don't quite know how they justify Megatron having a speed stat of 10.. He really didn't strike me as being that fast.

Soo.... all the non-transmetals, cannon or not have a total stat of 48, right? All transmetals, cannon or not have a total stat of 50, right?
What is Quickstrike considered? His stats equal 49.
I'm not sure about speed, but I think Megatron was pretty intelligent. I can't recall any of his plans failing because of poor planning on HIS part. In fact, if anything, I think he was maybe too smart for his own good. I feel like, if anything, he maybe was a bit over ambitious, but I think he would warrant a 10 for intelligence.
I never really understood why Megatron and Optimus had such high stats. I realize you just followed what the toys' stats said or mostly what the toys stats said. I mean, it makes sense that they have higher stats than the rest of their team....if they didn't have higher stats than the others, then any one of their underlings could easily challenge them for the position of commander which we know that no one succeeded in doing. So I agree that they should have higher stats, but near perfect stats seems a bit unbelievable. Especially since Optimus himself admitted that he's not a soldier or warrior or whatever you want to call him. So for him to have high stats in those areas, commander or not, doesn't really make sense.

Thanks for the note, and Quickstrike is fixed at 48 now.
As for Megatron and Optimus, I'd gladly set them to 50 since I've always seen them as being.. well, Broken. OOP plays Primal fairly though, but in the show Optimus has shown countless feats of strength beyond any others, speed faster then any others, and had the highest firepower, and was a master of close combat, tactical genius,etc.. And yes.. he's supposed to be a scientist.
Originally, his toy has him set as perfect with a bunch of +s to represent that he's even more superior to all others. We don't really do + modifiers, so having almost every stat maxed is about as good as either will get.
Then ofcourse we get into guys like Tigerhawk.. who the closest I can compare, would be a combiner team. Which aren't allowed in this game.
As for Megatron, the 9 in intel was off his toy specs, but I could switch it to speed if you want. I suppose as far as speed goes, Megatron goes for more of the "Strap enough thrusters to it and anything will fly" approach. Though his agility is crap due to his size.(Smaller characters are usually more nimble/agile/faster acceleration compared to larger heavier counterparts.)

Well, I'm certainly not saying to set them at 50. I think 60 or 65 would be more realistic. I agree with you that they should be stronger, faster, and smarter than most of them. But I would say, even in the show, everyone had their special skills. If there is one or two people who is smarter than their commander, that's really no big deal. I would say that Rhinox is as smart or smarter than Optimus. Optimus, even in the show, turned to Rhinox and asked him things like "Can we do [fill in the blank]?" or "How do we do [fill in the blank]?" And Optimus doesn't have the same skill set in battle as Dinobot....I would say, as far as battle strategy and firepower, Dinobot has more experience and more skill in that area. But if it ONLY took skill in that area then Dinobot could lead the group, but that's not all it takes. And yes, Optimus is supposed to be a scientist, but just because he's a scientist doesn't mean he knows how to do EVERYTHING because he doesn't. He's a leader; he delegates. He has people to do the stuff that he doesn't know how to do.
Let's just look at my job just for the sake of being able to give an analogy. I work at a nursing home. The administrator in the building I work in doesn't know how to do EVERYTHING better than everyone else. She just knows how to do a few thing better than everyone else....and that is: Managing everyone else, trouble shooting, problem solving, and leading. She has never worked in the social services department, for example, so she's not an expert on how to do what the social workers do. If she had "stats" like Optimus Primal, she would not be maxed out in that area because that doesn't make sense. She has no experience doing that. But when it comes time to running the building, she knows what departments should be doing what. When it comes to handling a problem, she knows who to assign to do what in order to solve the problem. That's not something everyone can do. And just because she can do that doesn't mean she could just leave her job and fill in for another department for a day...because she can't. She doesn't have the skills to do every department.
Optimus can lead the group because he has something the others don't: Instinct. He has the type of intelligence you can't teach. He can read people. He knows the dynamics of the group. He understands who is more skilled than him. He would never trust an important technological feat to himself....that's why he turns to Rhinox. He would never trust himself to be able to sneak into the Darksyde undetected, con the Predacons into thinking he had switched sides, and spy on them....that's why he calls on Rattrap. Cheetor would never be able to read the group, understand who to send in and who not to send in to a mission, solve a problem, or have the courage to stand up to his underlings, who he sees as his good friends, and demand their respect and obedience. Dinobot wouldn't be able to do that. Rhinox wouldn't be able to do that. Even Rattrap struggled with that when he took over as temporary commander.
So, in short, I think if Megatron and Optimus' stats aren't quite perfect, there's no harm in that. In fact, I think that would be more realistic. Yes, they should be higher than the others, but, in my opinion, I think near perfect is unnecessary and it just doesn't seem right to me.
And I agree, Megatron is not very agile and therefore, probably not very fast.
Moreover, I think, the more important point we should remember is....this isn't the show. So I think the stats should reflect how Pheonix and OOP (and other players who play cannon characters) are playing them and not what the toys stats or the stats from the show say.

Ooo, ooo, ooo! I'll play him more godly if you want! Just kidding. As for Megatron and Optimus, I'd gladly set them to 50 since I've always seen them as being.. well, Broken. I think Blackrose explained it perfectly. Also how I feel about the stats. Keep them based more on how we play them and not by the show or toys (except for maybe technical things like firepower and whatnot).

I have honestly no idea how to spec Optimus Primal or Megatron. I've had problems with Rhinox too since he has high strength, high skill, high intelligence, high endurance, high courage, and high firepower. His only dump stat is speed.

Don't stress out about it. Just do it the way you think and we'll take a look at it and see if we agree just like before. It just doesn't make sense to do the stats as perfect or near perfect since you already admitted, among others, that's not how they've been portrayed in our game. The stats should reflect that. I agree with you on what you said about Megatron and his speed and Rhinox and his speed.NaitoKage wrote:I have honestly no idea how to spec Optimus Primal or Megatron. Maybe we should just agree on a total...maybe that will be a good place to start. I don't know what you were imagining, but I think anything between 60 and 67 are pretty fair stats for Megatron and Optimus.

So here's my new character finally and the size I have for her is kind of an estimated guess of what could be good without her being another giant like Tantrum and Orcarnier. If this part needs to be edited any suggestions for her beast form size are appreciated.

Alt. Mode: Spinosaurus

Biography: Spineback is a former Decepticon soldier who took part in the Great War, but she joined the ranks of the Decepticon Militia very late in the war. In fact she was one of many bots many years ago who took refuge on one of the off world colonies having come online sometime during the middle of the violent conflict that had devastated her home world of Cybertron. But when a small band of Decepticons descended upon her home she was one of a handful of survivors to be captured and given a choice: join the Decepticons or have her life ended then and there. She chose to become a Decepticon rather than parish.
After a short few years of training in a few forms of combat, more so of long range use in weapons, Spineback was soon thrown right into the conflict of the war. Despite being a rookie this young femme at the time proved to be able to hold her own in a tough fight and was able to make it to the end of the war, and soon enough the Pax Cybertronia was created. Laying down arms like many Decepticons granted amnesty she decided to undergo the change to become a Predacon and generally retired from being in a military setting and instead decided to focus on a new field, becoming a medic. Again Spineback seemed to find peace at last with the peace going between the Maximals and Predacons at the time despite hearing the rumors that there were plans for many of the Predacons to try and overthrow the Maximal order, but she kept to herself and for many centuries kept to her new function of being a medic.
But eventually Spineback would hear word of the Axalon crew's preparation for exploration and decided it might be interesting to be off Cybertron again. At the time though she hadn't yet heard the word of Megatron stealing the Golden Disk as she was reverted to a protoform once again and loaded onto the Axalon in a stasis pod which for the first part of the Beast Wars it remained in orbit. That was until the destruction of the Planet Buster would throw her pod off course like many others, causing it to crash into some space debris which finally brought her down to Earth at last.
When it comes to Spineback’s personality she is generally a calm minded and level headed femme. She is known to be someone of few words but very calculating, always studying her environment, allies, and enemies and using whatever she can to her advantage, whether on or off the battle field. When it comes to be assigning to certain tasks Spineback follows her orders to the letter and never is afraid to get her hands dirty, no matter what the task may require to get done. She is also quite loyal to the Predacons and if that means reviving the old goals of the Decepticons she will gladly follow and is actually merciless and cold sparked when it comes to the Maximals. When it comes to her attitude towards her teammates this can also vary, she could be just as cold, cruel and untrusting towards them as she is with the Maximals or show something of a kinder, more cooperative side towards them, sometimes she might just have a neutral attitude around them instead.
Weapons:Spineback's main weapon is a Plasma Sphere Shooter, which pops up from her left arm to fire explosive balls of plasma while she bares a shield on her right arm which is the large spine along her back in beast mode. A secondary weapon is her Tail Lance which serves well for attacking an enemy straight on mounted on her back or serves well as a club. Lastly, she also has two missile launchers behind each shoulder that holds a maximum of four medium sized missiles in each.
Abilities: Due to her beast form Spineback can adapt to both land and water unhindered, this pertains to either beast or robot mode. Also the spine shield she bares can be used to absorb energy from energy weapons allowing her to add that power to her own systems or the Plasma Sphere Shooter for a limited time.
Weaknesses: One noticeable weakness for Spineback is the fact she prefers to fight from a distance than at close range, even though she is a decent melee fighter her strength lies better in long range attacks. Also in robot and beast mode she is slower than most on her team mostly from the choice of her beast form, and well she isn't exactly someone you'd call dainty. Another weakness is that Spineback has a blind loyalty towards a commander she is under and tends to never dissuade from a task she has been told to do.
Sample Post: Spineback stepped out from the hanger of the Darkside, glancing around at the volcanic landscape that surrounded the ship. It seemed relatively lifeless again as it had become the usual since she arrived to the team, the day had clouds here and there and likely showing signs of about to rain. But for now it was bone dry and sunny, making for some decent conditions to go on her round of patrols. That was until she was called upon to join in on any attack upon the Maximals or to back up any of her teammates, if one could call them that, for any trouble that might come.
Though this femme was quite an unusual sight with the fact she was taller than most of the femmes currently stranded there on Prehistoric earth, her frame was slender but far from being dainty. Her lower legs of her beast form remained from the knee down while the rest slid back to make her upper legs and pelvic plating, some scales remaining around the hip area. The whole front of her form still had her light brown to black scales from her stomach to her ‘breast’ plate and a small line down her back as well. All along the rest of her back to her sides revealed smooth armor and four ribbed plating on her sides and two similar fashioned thin plates circling around the thighs. The head of her beast mode rested on her shoulders while the back spine had come to rest on her left arm like a shield. Her head though was somewhat circular in shape like a helmet with the lower parts of her helm being spiked and angled slightly towards the jaw and having a crown like shape along the upper parts of her face with five points. Coming from behind the middle tip were some overlapping plates running down the middle and along the sides of her head.
With a final glance around the landscape to make sure there wasn’t chances of hostiles the light brown and ebony black femme finally gave out the command “Beast mode” and finally transformed. Satisfied there were no hostiles Spineback growled and began making her way off towards other parts of Predacon territory to watch out for any invading Maximals. And with every step she took the ground shook slightly, her form's length and size not being hard to miss nor hear coming. Not that she was worried at the moment as she moved further and further from the Predacon base and her dark green eyes scanning the area as she went.
Before long though she now moving at a walk after a few hours of patrolling, having come across one of the rivers that flowed through the territory. Though this one was far too shallow for her to make use of hiding in she could see it as being a good place to stop for a bit. After another few steps the former Decepticon finally leaned down on all fours and leaned her head down beginning to take a few gulps of water in her long jaws while also keeping alert.

Hm.. Looks fine, though.. her intelligence might want to be higher unless she's just a field medic akin to Icebreaker's kind of role.(In terms of Medics, Icebreaker was the lowest of skills, while Rhinox is a miracle worker and Glowstick was a walking CR chamber.) Plus while you seem to have a focus on long ranged weapons, your strength, courage, and endurance are higher stats. Makes me think your going more for sword and board over shooting as much. Energy absorbing I see no problem with, though if issues pop up I'll just go case by case.

Actually she's meant to be a medic for on the field and back at base, so I increased her intelligence but she's nothing close to being a miracle worker like Rhinox. I also decided to increase her firepower and took some points away from endurance and strength but kept her courage as is. Hope this seems better NK. And also if anyone doesn't like the energy absorbing shield I can just take away that feature, just thought it might be a little different.

There shouldn't be a problem with energy stuff, unless it gets into unusual things like trying to absorb sound waves and such. Everything else looks fine. Approved.

Nah it's only going to be energy, and it only lasts for a limited time anyhow.
