I arranged to talk to a friend in Australia this Saturday, only I realized after that our clocks in the UK are going back to GST (Greenwich Meridian Time), so they'll be going BACK an hour. So instead of a 9 hour difference between us, there's a 10 hour difference. I then checked online and apparently Australia (or rather, Victoria and New South Wales) ALSO have Daylight savings, so their clocks are going FORWARD an hour. If I'm right then that makes the difference between us 11 hours come this Sunday.
Because we all like to chat online, especially in Bwint chats, I thought it would be beneficial if everyone from their time zone tells us in this thread what their clocks are doing this weekend. If you're in a country that does change the clocks forward or back an hour, please let everyone know, so we can adjust our plans/chats accordingly. Otherwise, it's going to get VERY confusing.
Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa all do not observe DST. Indiana used to not observe it either until it passed a law in April of 2005 saying it would.
Well, on the East Coast, our clocks are jumping back an hour on Sunday morning (yay! More sleep!) at 1 AM EST.
After this weekend I will finally have my Saturday's back, and I would like to join in with the BWINT chats. What medium do you normally use?
Australians are likely taking their clocks forward an hour because they live in the Southern Hemisphere where it's nearly summer now, and the days are getting longer. So I imagine that everyone who lives in a country that follows DST in the Northern Hemisphere will set their clocks back an hour like you, Sapph.
