Match 13: Thunderclash & Rotorstorm (Europe) vs. Jhiaxus & Rook (G2)
Perhaps Simon Furman had no idea what he created when he came up with the super-powerful Jhiaxus for the Generation 2 comic. Although the comic gave us no indication of Rook’s combat capabilities, that wildcard factor didn’t seem to slow down his team’s progress. The European Turbomasters were the latest to suffer G2’s wrath, leading to a third consecutive 100% victory for the Decepticons. Whether or not Jhiaxus has been carrying the team may be up for debate… but it’s hard to argue with the results thus far.

Match 14: Star Saber & Victory Leo (Japan) vs. Star Convoy & Sky Garry (Japan)
This was one of the very few cases where a combining team was defeated by a non-combining team. Even with the merged power as Victory Saber, they simply weren’t powerful enough to counter the reborn Optimus Prime & Sky Garry, although they were able to end their streak of shutout wins. Still, with 71% of the vote, Star Convoy & Sky Garry make their way into the Finals, pitting latter-day Japan against Generation 2!
