Glowstick looked up from his repairs on Scorponok, then closed Scorponok's torso and set the body down. His body seemed to stiffen and make a cringing like a expression twisting on his faceplate. He then sighed then stood up. Well so much for the paintjob..Though that was bound to happen.. Hm.. We COULD try digging for energon but you know what.. we don't have that many suited for the job. In fact, Scorponok here would be best suited for it as he can dig and manipulate tools in his beast mode.. As would Terrorsaur or anyone else that has thumbs. So.. I think we should take advantage of the situation that is present in a different manner. Many of the Maximals are hurt now, their leader and that icebird are busy. We have fliers, a battleship, and enough firepower to do the job. I say we go over there, raise some trouble, and pillage their energon and supplies! I'm sure the rest of the crew has been itching to shoot something by now.. he then raised one of his limbs balled into a fist, then opened and held the tentacle out So why not let them?

((OOC: lol ouch!!! Glad you're ok, SS))

Images came into view. Sounds crackled through the optical receptors. Scorponok grumbled as his body surged out of stasis lock and into full consciousness.

"What... happened?"

Everything felt sore inside and out. Looking down, Scorponok's jaw dropped at the hideous gap in his torso. Even though it had been repaired, the shell itself was still burnt and twisted. Black paint and chrome were chipping away, leaving a nasty little trail of specs around him. The Predacon commander had no recollection of what had happened except that he was engaging an invisible opponent. Something happened and he simply shut down.

"Seriously," he repeated, looking up at Glowstick and Steelclaw, "What the Pit happened to me?"

Normally, being in such a confused state would infuriate him since it meant that he had no control. However, the immense pain that rippled through his circuits easily subdued his pride. The back of his head was slightly dented in from its collision with the boulder he was flung into. Looking at his claws, Scorponok noticed that his mega missiles had already discharged. He did not even remember shooting anything. Well, at least not voluntarily.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ok, that should do it," said Orcariner, turning to Rattrap.

Shots echoed from afar and the ground slightly rumbled from the battle inside the energon field. It sounded like the clone was giving Primal and Icebreaker a good fight. He only hoped that it was not more than what they could handle.

"Sounds like they're having quite the scuffle. Could set off the energon field for us, but why don't you go ahead and set remote detonation charges anyway. If they can't stop it, then our explosion might. I'll go ahead and finish storing these away."

Orcariner walked back to the Nomad and stored the final cubes into the cargo bay. With three tons of energon, there was barely enough room for them to hitch a ride back. Even the medical table was pinned shut against the wall. He hoped that they would have no need for it later. Closing the doors behind him, the killer whale robot walked up to the ladder that led to the bridge.

"Hey, Tigatron," he said, "Everything's all finished up so you can start pulling her away from the area. I'll stay behind to make sure the guys get back alright, but don't worry because you have a massive turret and over half a meter of steel shielding you. The clone shouldn't be a problem for you if it decides to pursue. Any word from potential reinforcements?"

Ah, that'll be a fine spot to put him. You can go out and help mine the energon Waspinator, I'll be out shortly after I get this dope back online.
Sonar chuckled as he continued to patch himself up.

I would have been fine, if the idiot hadn't come for me. He thought.
Star's going to be taking a long nap, so I guess we'll see about putting Terrorsaur and Scorponok back online.. Huh.. looks like some wires got knocked loose..?
"They had wires loose to begin with." He muttered.

He ignores most of the coversation and concentrated on fixing himself up.
He took one of the marines with him?!.. Somehow I think I'm going to pity the Alien...Oh, Steelclaw. Can you use one of the manipulators to move that cart full of energon into the hanger?
Sonar chuckled loudly at that, then winced as pain flared up again.

* * *

Saber followed Dinobot outside the ship and easily kept pace with him, she just hoped that they would get there before the slag hit the fan.

Sonar rolled his eyes then put the med kit down.

"I may still be injured but I can keep a look out, just in case that freak looses interest in the Maximals." Sonar put in.

Sonar's ears droop slightly when the second in command came online.
"What... happened?" "Seriously," "What the Pit happened to me?"
"Trust me, you don't wanna know..." Sonar said shaking his head.
"The enemy of my enemy is my bro."

Snow Trix listened to the talking but had up to this point been silent, watching the scanners and monitors. After a while she finally spoke, "I can go if it helps. I'm not strong or very fast but I'm quiet, more likely to even check out on the Maximals and see where they are at on the energon they mined." She said and looked to the others. "You want to raid them let me go on ahead and check it out. But going on blindly would end up having more of us in stasis or injured." She said flicking her tail.

Whether or not it was a stupid suggestion Snow Trix didn't quite care but she was sick of just sitting back and doing nothing. Besides checking up on the Maximals first might give them a better chance then rushing head long into yet another fight.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wintersong reverted to beast mode before stepping outside hearing the battle in the distance. "Grrr...I hate standing back here doing nothing." She growled, lashing her tail in frustration and digging her claws into the ground trying to fight the urge to rush to help.
(No problem, I totally understand that and have been in that position. Sleep well Candi.)
Glowstick looked towards Sonar as he spoke up, then noticed Scorponok had come online. Ah good, I was wondering when you were going to kick back on.. As for what happened.. You essentially took a rank 10 dual quasar blast to the chest at close range, the impact damaging your armor as you see, while the head injury I assume is from impacting it against a rock from the hit. You went offline almost instantly as the blast was so violent it jarred some of your internal wiring loose. Now for the current situation.. the one that attacked you, Sonar, Terrorsaur, and StarShadow we have referred to has ghost, though some use Phantom or ghoul.. in anycase, it appears to be a alien made clone of Optimus Primal with augmentation to firepower and the ability to turn invisible. While you were offline, Megatron called and put me in charge.
I organized the crew to modify our sonar on the ship to detect the creature and passed out some experimental equipment to a party that we sent to recover you and the others. Venatrix has surfaced and is currently watching the Maximal crew though we've been monitoring them with our sensors. The maximals are currently in battle against the clone and have suffered more damaged troops it appears, so as all of these have effected our efficiency of gathering energon I have proposed we take an offensive on the Maximal mining group to take their gathered energon and any supplies we want. As they're in a weakened state, the battle should go more smoothly, and by taking their energon we will be weakening their supplies, which will make Megatron happy. So Commander, do you feel up to the task of leading the ground assault?
Glowstick turned to Snowtrix and Sonar As for you two.. I have a better idea Sonar. I'll pilot the ship, and you can take Steelclaw's place as gunner. I made it so either seat was capable of attaching to your system to use your sonar equipment with the ships, plus I know your skills with a gun are rather good. Steelclaw, I want you to go with the ground unit backing up Scorponok from long range, in the woods or so. Snowtrix, you'll be backing Steelclaw up as a spotter or partner sniper. Alot of these maximals prefer melee attacks, so we'll hit them hard out of range. We'll use Venatrix to report the current situation and act with Scorponok, Tarantulus, and Waspinator. If Terrorsaur and Starshadow wake up soon they'll also be in the main charging group. I'll also radio Blackarachnia and Frilla of the situation. turned as he spoke this lengthy plan. As for the Leviathan, we'll be acting to monitor the ghost, and lay waste to the maximal transport and Orcariner if he becomes a problem.. which he likely will. Are there any problems with this assessment?
Steelclaw made ready to get out of the seat if Glowstick's plan was going to be followed.
He did have reservations. What was the alien going to do next if it won the confrontation with Primal and Icebreaker? Would an open battle with the Maximals prove too distracting to the Predacons in the event that the alien turned his attention to them once again? Would he, with that many troops from both sides on the field, ignite the energon?
And what if Primal and Icebreaker won? The Predacons' chance of victory would be severely lessened.
But risks were an unavoidable part of war. Since their goal was indeed to collect what energon they could and to prevent the Maximals from doing the same, it'd really make no sense to avoid pursuing that objective out of fear so long as they could keep an eye on what was happening and have a chance to react in turn.
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.
Starshadow's red optics flickered a little, putting a hand on her face. Her neck and head was feeling much better after Glowstick repaired her. The kittybot stretched herself like a lazy housecat. She felt something was attatched to the back of her head and pulled it out and transformed into her beast mode, walking out of the quarters to the stairs. Most of her comrades were present except for Frilla. Scorponok was already repaired, Sonar boy was still fixing himself.
Pfffftt....ungrateful little slagger..next time if he gets his big aft into trouble, I wouldn't want to get him out of it. Stupid me for saving him.. she growled at the thought of Sonar and his pride. Though she knew everyone has their good points, she never see anything good about him, the most annoying bot she had ever met, a bat, a pest which was meant to be swatted like a fly, namely, Sonar.
"Did I miss anything?" she asked as she descended from the stairs.
Listening to everything Glowstick had just said, only half of those words even registered and even fewer remained in his head. Scorponok simply returned a blank look as certain words and phrases stuck out to him.
"I was shot?" he said, as if in disbelief, "Slag... by Optimus?"
He paused and tried to remember the massive wall of information that was spoken to him in the past few cycles.
"Not Optimus," he corrected himself, "Optimus' clone. Who's invisible... but we have sonic powers now... but we're not fighting him... I was shot?"
Scorponok struggled to stand as he hoisted himself up. Even his legs felt terrible and they were not even hit by any projectile. Glowstick mentioned Megatron, that part he distinctively remembered. It seemed like a lot has happened since he was offline.
"Megatron put you in charge?" he finally said out loud, "Ugh."
Being taken out with one shot like a newbie was not good for Scorponok's pride. Megatron even realized that it was a shameful way to go out in a fight, and therefore, picked the squid to lead the team now. His rank as the second in command was in jeopardy. The black transformer groaned at the thought of it, and the emotional pain was now becoming worse than the physical pain.
"Yes," he said, almost absentmindedly, "Go on and lead them in battle. I need to go back to my quarters to recover."
He proceeded to limp off into the hallway without waiting for a confirmation.
For once Sonar didn't have a snappy come back to what the squid had to say.
Once again Sonar had nothing snappy to say, it probably had some thing to do with the painkiller he had given himself.
"Did I miss anything?"
Sonar narrowed his red optics but didn't reply, he was in no mood for a verbal fight with Starshadow.
He ignored most of what the second in command had to say, he didn't really care.
"Megatron put you in charge?" "Ugh."
Sonar rolled his optics, he had a feeling that Scorponok was married to his rank.
"Yes," "Go on and lead them in battle. I need to go back to my quarters to recover."
Yeah, have fun with that. He thought.
(( OOC:
Sonar rolled his optics, he had a feeling that Scorponok was married to his rank.
:lol: !! The perfect way of defining it. Nice, N-H. ))
The Vok watched Icebreaker's unusual motions, or what seemed unusual if the Maximal really couldn't see him. No, he was up to something. He saw the grappling hook fly into the air, its cord trailing behind it, landing around some rocks behind him. Glancing over his shoulder at the clanking sounds, he thought that it landed just a little too close in his direction being invisible. He narrowed his optics and looked back at the penguin who was suddenly gone. What...? It was too late when the clone found him in the air, suddenly tackling him to the ground and dragging his heavy body toward the rocks. Dust flying everywhere, he managed to put his arms between his head and the rocks before they hit, blocking his head from the impact as he laid on his chest. Laying there motionless, the Vok Primal used his precious time to regain his focus and thoughts.
Psyche!
This Maximal was a problem that must be neutralized. That handy visor he wore over his optics must be able to detect the alien some how in order to "see" him so well. Hm.
The name's Icebreaker.. I've shown you the ice, how about now.. I show you how I break sneaky punks like you for picking on children?
Getting cocky? thought the "Ghost." He couldn't quite see Icebreaker, but Icebreaker couldn't quite see his head either with the back of his beast mode's head blocking it in his robot mode. However, the clone could see that there was a small cluster of energon crystals poking out from between the surrounding rocks. It wouldn't be enough for stasis lock, but it was perfect for a diversion as a moderate explosion. Quickly he stretched out his right arm and fired at the raw energon with his wrist cannon. It was going to be painful but his body could handle it better than the others.
BOOM! BA BOOM BOOM! The crystals shattered, fire and energon radiation filtering the air in a large expanding plume, exploding the rocks and throwing the alien across the ground away from Icebreaker, rolling toward Optimus. Skidding across the ground and coming to a stop on his back, most of the ice had broken off of his body. He immediately staggered to his feet and ignited his prime jets, which blew off and melted the rest of the ice surrounding them on his lower back, and took off wobbling to the sky before straightening out.
"Icebreaker!" Optimus called out. He turned away from the explosion to keep most of the debris away from his face. That slagging alien was desperate enough to do anything when his back was against a wall! Looking back, his eyes searched around the dust for his comrade, who had pulled off a courageous move with his grappling hook until he pushed the clone too far. Apparently.
-----
"Think we were lucky this time, that clone took out quite a few of them."
Hearing Wintersong inside putting the drill back to its proper place, Tigatron opened a transmission to the two Maximals who were walking back from their encounter with the alien clone. "Feralnight, Cheetor, how are you managing? Do you need assistance?"
"Hey, Tigatron," "Everything's all finished up so you can start pulling her away from the area. I'll stay behind to make sure the guys get back alright, but don't worry because you have a massive turret and over half a meter of steel shielding you. The clone shouldn't be a problem for you if it decides to pursue.
"Copy," Tigatron acknowledged Orcariner. He glanced over the controls and prepared himself to drive the large transportation unit. Slowly he activated the engines and began pulling further away from the energon field where they were mining.
Any word from potential reinforcements?"
"Hold on," the white tiger answered, then changed frequencies to the Axalon as he stopped the Nomad and parked it.
"Rhinox, do we have reinforcements on the way?" he inquired. He hadn't heard specifics from him after he relayed his transmission.
"Well, that's just prime!"
Feralnight had to slow to a walk, feeling a bit out of breath with the shots to her chest aching from the run. Even keeping up with Cheetor at this pace was difficult, "Think we're fine so far Cheetor will be there before I am." She reported to Tigatron but stopped and turned slightly hearing the booming in the back where the fight took place. "Optimus! Icebreaker!" Feralnight was now hating the fact of not knowing their friends were safe another blast like that would surely set off something worse.
------------------------------
Frilla used her doubled edged Frill Sword(Yes a frill sword, i couldn't think anything better :P ), carefully digging into the rocks and making the place loose enough to move the raw energon, though her dampers were nearly close to their limit. Putting the sword on her back again she turned tot he small pie she had, which was not much. "Frilla to the Levianthan, what's going on?" She asked through the com-link and picked the pile up making her way as quickly as possible back to the slope.
Stopping however she looked back, the explosion making her tense up thinking someone had blown the energon deposit though it was farther near the battle and didn't travel. Sighing in relief she hurried on at a run, sprinting to the slope and making a dash to get away from the energon.
As the dust started to clean, Icebreaker's body was seen crouched with his knife stabbed into the ground, his shield held to try to absorb some of the blast but points of his body were seen covered with holes, sparks spraying from his joints as he slowly got up. His body shaking as energon surged over his system, his computer then chiming in. "Warning, energon resistance low. Transform to beast mode immediately." Icebreaker let out a low growl with pain and a mechanical tinge in his voice like a broken speaker. Can it. Divert power from Break shield drive to field dampers.
The penguin's body suddenly stopped surging, he then turned grabbing his gun from his side slowly, pulling the lever on the side forward. He looked up as the clone started to fly away ..You think aft-errr that.. I'd let you get away? Lets see how you fly when I clip you'rrre wings.. he then said in a low voice, his visor locking onto the heat trail as he used both arms to lift the gun up, which felt alot heavier then usual to him. He waited for the lockon, then fired off a ice micro missile from the weapon. The missile spun wobbling slightly as it flew straight after the jet trail on the clone at high speed.
Icebreaker looked towards Primal, then pushed the lever forward and tossed his gun out into the distance towards the Gorilla. Take it.. it's the best chance you have..Beast mode.. he then stated, his body transforming, then collapsing onto the ground onto his belly into stasis lock. The gun seen landing into the dirt and sliding in front of Optimus, the sight on top of it glowing blue. It appeared the only reason the penguin was even still standing initially was sear willpower.
(Frost launcher specs:
Sight:Thermal
Range:Mid to long
Current ammo:3 micro "ice" missiles in the magazine
Moving the lever on the left side of the gun goes between shooting modes, dial on the right side controls the output of the Cyrofield projector, lowest output spraying ice particles dense enough to interfere with oxygen in a fire, highest able to flash freeze a victim with a massive beam. Ice blast draws from internalized weapon energy In other words :Your endurance. Over use will weaken the character, using it at close range is not advised as at higher outputs the beam may splash freezing the user.
Ice Micro missiles use a thermal based lockon from the gun sight or tactical visor, the explosion radius is short flash freezing the area it explodes around usually in a spreading spiky icicle formation at it's core. example: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_zmJmWn6tVCA/R ... e+ball.jpg )
Rhinox watched as the others went off on the lift, he then responded to Tigatron. Saber and Dinobot just left the lift Tigatron.
Glowstick blinked watching as Scorponok left the room, rather surprised. .. Did I leave some wires unplugged?.. Okay then.. No matter I guess.. he then looked at StarShadow Nice to see you woke up, we're going to attack the Maximals. Feel up to it?
Meanwhile, Glowstick sent out a text message to Venatrix. Hey sneakycat, what are the maximals currently doing? We're planning to attack them and steal their energon.
(I'll give her a few days to respond, if no response we'll head out without her. I have a feeling that might be partially why she wasn't directly interacting with any of the characters.)
Glowstick heard Frilla on his comlink, then looked towards the monitors seeing the explosion on the main screen. Uh.. I'm guessing the clone got angry and blew up part of the field? Frilla, we're going to attack the maximals and take their energon, you can meet up with us if you want.
Terrorsaur squawked as he snapped up into sitting position. Looking around, he realized that the Predacons must have retrieved his body from underneath Sonar. Walking out of the room and into the bridge, he felt a little stiff but certainly better than the last few moments of entering stasis lock. A group of Predacons were gathered there and Sonar himself looked like he was in pretty bad shape. Chuckling to himself, Terrorsaur grinned when he recalled that he was mostly to blame for the bat's current condition. Maybe they will just laugh it off and forget the matter.
"Guess who's back?" he said, announcing his entrance, "What's been going on with that invisible weapon? I want another shot at the piece of slag."
"Yeah, I'm fine," Cheetor responded to Tigatron's question over com-link. "Nothing internal repairs can't handle with enough time."
He noticed the Nomad starting to pull away from the field. And that was great because it took the ship away from the threat of the energon field, but it did make his run a little longer.
"Just try not leave without us," he remarked.
* * *
Steelclaw was taken aback by the fact that Scorponok hadn't attempted to resume command. If he was leaving command to Glowstick, then it would be best to start following the plan Glowstick had laid out. So he got out of his chair. Just then an energon explosion went off in the distance, as if to emphasize how dangerously things were escalating in the field he was about to step onto.
On his way out of the room, he was stopped by Terrorsaur.
Terrorsaur wrote:What's been going on with that invisible weapon? I want another shot at the piece of slag.
"It got bored with us and started picking on the Maximals, but I'm not sure how long that'll last," he replied. "If it starts heading towards those of us on the ground, please do attack it. The ship's got a better chance of surviving its assault than we do." With that he shuffled past his teammate.
Steelclaw wasn't sure how tough the alien was, but he was more than willing to face it with his weapons. It was just the fact that the alien was invisible most of the time. How could he fight what he couldn't see?
Which was another reason for the Leviathan to be its primary attacker- the ship could see the alien, in a manner of speaking.
Reaching the front hangar doors on the floor below, which had since closed automatically, Steelclaw opened them once again.
In front of him, he could see a trail of smoke coming from the ground not-too-far away.
"Beast mode," he commanded his computer. After transforming, he started jogging towards the woods to the east. Snow Trix was much faster than he was- she'd catch up.
"'Bots," he radioed in, "how far do you estimate the Nomad's radar can reach?" He had to assume it went a greater distance than Ocariner's. "I need to know how close I can get." Taking another glance in the distance, he added another thing. "And we'd better hurry. The Maximals might be leaving soon."
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.
