As far as cartoon is concerned, I'd like to see them give Beast Wars a PROPER sequel -- totally disregarding Beast Machines.
For a long time I wished for a prequel to Beast Wars, but I suppose BotCon already gave us that with their Dawns of Futures Past comic... although it sucks how it's a con exclusive book. They should reprint the whole story as a trade paper back available in regular stores. But I'd really like to see a comic series that further explored other tales of Beast Wars -- like the origins of Depth Charge and Protoform X --- just WHAT exactly happened on Starbase Rugby and Omicron?? How did Depth Charge change from being a noble Maximal into the dark anti-hero that we see in the cartoon? I'd also like to see stories that makes further ties between Beast Wars, Beast Wars Second and Beast Wars Neo, because the Japanese series ARE meant to be in the same continuity as the Canadian series in an 'expanded universe' kind of way, much like how the G1 UK comics were intended to be in the same continuity as the US comics. At first I was happy to see IDW throw the Japanese characters in with The Gathering, cos for the most part it didn't break against continuity, but then The Ascending kinda screwed it up... blargh. I'd like to see a series that included all the BW, BWII and BWN characters
without breaking cartoon continuity.
The comics would be possible, but before Hasbro's gonna commission any new Beast Wars cartoon they're gonna need to make a new toyline. I dunno about the rest of you guys, but I voted for Dinobot in Hasbro's Hall of Fame online voting thingamajig they did last year - and of course, Dinobot won!! Even Hasbro admitted that they were surprised. I know a lot of people were expecting G1 Soundwave to win. Hahaha, sucked in to those GeeWunners! :p
