Why does Tarantulas hate the Aliens?

They never really told us. Did the Vok and him have a past?

Or was this another one of those open-ended questions?

Maybe it's because they're so powerful? I dunno, he seems to hate everyone...

I think this concept may have been retconned in later, so maybe I should actually address what the show was saying when it first came out.

For that... who knows? Maybe he's slightly sentient-ist. He wants to be purely Cybertronian. At least when he gets a beast mode it's still Cybertronian enhanced, and really just a robot in disguise. The tranwarp wave actually grafted alien technology into him.

Then there was that whole thing where they tried to destroy Earth at the same time he was on it. That'd probably make me mad even if I wasn't on Earth.

But I think more technical details were ironed out later. The Vok, though they don't present themselves very civilly in the show are a race which tries to create rather than destroy, and according to the Beast Wars sourcebook "find the optimal development path for all the races involved in their origin, especially the Cybertronians." They are, of course, very powerful, and can influence a lot of different things to make this happen.

In Tarantulas' bio, it states that "The realization that some extraterrestrial force was manipulating Predacons sparks drove him mad and Tarantulas became obsessed with discovering who and what the alien force was."

"...Tarantulas learned that the source of the manipulation was the Vok..."

Well if i remember correctly Tarantulas did say when he captured Tigerhawk in Other Victories he said that that he and the tri- what ever council had different orgins what that has to do with Tarantulas hating Aliens i don't know.

The aliens gave everyone reason to fear them, look what they did, they tried to destroy the earth. And killed Scorpy and Terror, well in a sense, even though they did ram into each other. They took Stripes and the bird-lady.

Funny how this keeps coming up lately... o.0

Nope. Off in good old Universe land again he is revived and actually reveals that he is indeed a Minion. While standing in the middle of the Pit. Just before he warps Blackarachnia again, I believe.... They talked a bit about the origins of the Vok too somewhere in either the Wiki or a book, but it's late and I'm not sure where to find the reference so I'll leave it to someone more educated in that particular field to get into.

Who knows, maybe they just took the joke and ran with it?
