lol that's a pretty cool idea. I'm still trying to figure out where Meg's dragon mode came from in the first place, though...not that I'm complaining

Going that theres no logical reason why Megatron became a transmetal 2 dragon.. I'm going with "The writers and hasbro model designers thought it was cool"

I can think of a logical explanation:

Beast Wars is connected to G1. . . And in G1 there wasa dragon. :3

Remeber it? It was....Decepticons in King Arthur's Court or something liek that, where Starscream, Rumble, Ramjet, and a couple others plus Spike and some Autobots went into the past where Merlin was magical and there was a dragon. o_O (lol Starscream was scared! 8D) Assuming they traveled to medieval Earth in their dimension, as implied, instead of an AU, then Dragons in G1 are canon and, thus, canon in Beast Wars as well.

Maybe when Megatron took on G1 Megs's spark and fell in the lava....um...well HOW he went from Trex to dragon is beyond me, but maybe that merging of the sparks caused him to scan some dragon bones down there or something. Optimus gained extra vehicle modes on top of his TM forms, so maybe he scanned the Cybertronian vehicular alt modes of the Abots around himwhen he changed, while Megatron fell into the lava so he got a more organic upgrade.

(btw, I don't like his dragon alt mode. They could have made it soooooo much cooler, but his wings flap pathetically, he's not particularly fast, his neck and head are too thin and reedy compared to the meaty Trex head, and his body is annoyingly stocky. :/ A Draco AKA Dragonheart-like look would have been better for him, imo.)

That is of course going by the show. Like has been said (and REALLLLLLY ANNOYS ME!! DARN IT HASBRO!! DX) they do a lot of stuff to sell new toys.

((I almost don't consider the end of Beast Wars entirely canon in the Beast Wars sense since they rushed it and did stuff to sell toys. Which doesn't count as a legit canon-establishing strategy to me. :/ imo ))
