What would YOU ask the VAs of Cheetor & Depth Charge?

Yes, that's right...you have the opportunity!

Thanks to a friend I made at Auto Assembly, who knows useful people, we have been granted a written interview with David Sobolov (voice actor of Depth Charge) and possibly Ian James Corlett (Cheetor) as well. David is more of a definite than Ian, but I want to get the interviews out sooner rather than later, so here I post to you the chance to ask these voice actors some questions, either about their job as a VA or their role as their Beast Wars character.

This is a really fun and exciting opportunity for any fandom. I want to impress David and Ian with our site's membership in terms of its enthusiasm and intelligence, so take care in considering your questions. Ask something thoughtful, something that would be interesting for the VA to answer. I will take a list of the best questions for each VA and include them in the written interviews I intend to send them both, the responses of which will be posted on Beast Wars International.

As some of you know, David is already a friend of BWINT in that he gave to us the clip you can hear on Depth Charge's fanclub (yes, that really is David!) and I met Ian James earlier this year and gave him a link to the site on one of our business cards (which reminds me, if any of you are going to any conventions, and would like a set of BWINT official business cards to pass on to other TF fans, email me and I'll send you some!) so they are both aware of our existence.

Many thanks again to my friend Martin, who has organized all this since Auto Assembly while I was away in Australia. What a great opportunity for us fans to talk to our heroes!

How did David come up with Depth Charge's distinctive voice?

Does he assosciate any aspect of Depth Charge's personality to himself?

PS There's no real point in my asking any Ques to Ian, since I already met/spoke to him

Umm...

How did you feel about Depth Charge overall? He comes off as quite intense, but as the voice actor did you get that feeling?

When you recorded, what were you thinking about the show? Had you watched it?

Do you ever go back and watch Beast Wars these days? xD If so, what do you think of it now?

:sigh: Not sure if those are good or not. GAH! Why is it my mind goes blank when it comes to asking questions? It's like I'm not built to ask. xD I'll get back to sleep here and try to think of more/better questions. This is too good an opportunity to ask a REALLY need-to-know question to squander. 8D But I do like Aesir's second question..

I'm not sure if VA's have a say in the storyline, or even receive explanations. Still, it'd be nice if he had a definitive answer to "Why did Rampage let go?". That way us fans don't have to keep speculating for the rest of our lives lol.

I have a couple of questions for Ian.

What did you think about the father-son relationship between Optimus and Cheetor?

How about Cheetor's crush on Blackarachina?

I'm still thinking up some questions but I think I have one for David Sobolov.

How did it feel to play your part and bounce off Campbell Lane (Rampage's voice actor) performance? Did you enjoy those scenes?

I hope I worded that right.

Had Beast Wars gone on for a 4th season (barring the Nemesis two-parter never happened), do you think Depth Charge's character would have gradually become more of a team player with the other Maximals, or do you think his personality would have stayed the same?

Also,

If the writers of Beast Wars did a pre-Beast Wars series focused on the back stories of the characters (such as Depth Charge's life on Omicron), would you reprise the role? And if so, how would you play his character differently (until the tragedy of Omicron, that is)?

Sapph, thanks for this opportunity, cause I really wanna know that second question since there are lots of people who have written the back stories before. I hope to find out David's take on things! After all, no one knows the character better than the actor!

By Nemesis Part 2, do you believe Depth Charge had gone insane in his man-hunt for Rampage (Protoform X) or was still as sane(ish)

Have you been asked to do any Transformers related work in the foreseeable future, and if you were to be asked, would you be enthusiastic about the idea?

Huh... I never seem to come up with good questions until after the due date has passed... but here's to giving it a try!

Could you describe a day working 'Beast Wars Transformers'? How was it interacting with all your fellow voice actors? Any preferences among them?
