Why did Megatron choose to clone Dinobot?

Where we talk about nothing other than that. :)

What always irked me about the clone Dinobot is that they never made an episode out of the script for one episode where RatTrap is missing Dinobot so much he attempts to reprogram the Dinobot clone, thus explaining how the clone would get the real Dinobot's personality when Rampage died which would make the clone's part of the spark his very own.

Since they thought that episode (something involving glass) was too depressing to make it, they decided to skip it, yet not explain how the Dinobot clone got Dinobot's personality at the end. Such a pity they wouldn't share that episode with us all. :(

I agree that they should have made that episode yes. It would have explained so much. But they also (thanks to Fox) decided to not show the ending of the last episode of Beast Wars as well, which would have shown the Original Megatron's spark being put back.

Those who were none the wiser, and watched Beast Machines would have been confused about the destruction of Megatron at the end, since it was never aired, one could believe BOTH Megatron sparks were destroyed.

But originally, in that unaired episode, Dinobot had a feeling he was soon going to die (I think it was) and downloaded his memories into a disc that Rattrap found and tried to implement into the new Dinobot... Which is how Dinobot II knew the Original Dinobot's memories.

Megatron likes irony very much.
He wants to abuse what maximals love, to make them feel weak and incompetent. Because fighting against friends is harder than fighting against foes.
Every animal has a soul, only some humans have none.
