Just got home from Bethlehem where they're shooting the fictional Chinese war scene (also the opening scene for the sequel) where supposedly a Transformer is to make an appearance. My younger sister and I were standing on the left side of the set if you can picture the furnaces being the center of attention with the green neon signs on the front. Enjoy the photos! I apologize for those that are a little blurry. It's difficult taking photos with a digital camera and moving objects.

This was a Police helicopter that seemed to be patrolling the air and often followed the military choppers that flew around in many, many circles:

Tomorrow, I plan to stop by the set earlier in the day to record some footage of the choppers making their rounds, assuming they'll be shooting that while the sun's still up. It was exciting to drive down Third Street and see the choppers flying around and then noticing the glow from the big bright lights at the scene.

While I was there again last night around 8pm (didn't have time to post any photos since I didn't get home until around 11pm), I didn't see any of the TFs vehicles nor any of the actors (Tyrese nor Josh) or Micheal Bay. It's reported that Ironhide and Optimus Prime are on the scene (Prime for sure has been spotted), as well as a black Hummer that may or may not be a TF. I'd be lucky if I got to see any of these cooler things than just the set. LoL I did walk around the area more for different photos and angles, though. I also didn't see any explosions but a couple of my co-workers who live closer reported that they heard some loud explosions around 4:30am. Other then that, I only saw them move the two Blackhawks around a couple times and saw some military vehicles (possibly Humv's) with guns mounted on top of their roofs driving around. Farther on the set, I could see personnel with crates and wires, possibly for the explosives. Sorry I can't report anything more exciting. But I took more photos in the daylight. I plan on heading back tonight to see if I can spot anything else permitting it won't be a wash out. I left last night just in time before the rain blew in.

So that's it for now. I don't know what's going on tonight with the set but I'll check it out anyway and report back.

[Optimal Optimus Primal]

I was at the Bethlehem set tonight from about 7:30 to 8:30 EST and it happened to be one of the best nights, I believe. I first started out walking down the block and keeping my eyes out for any familiar TFs in their vehicle modes, and any familiar faces. Unfortunately, I still didn't see any, but at least this night wasn't going to be as dull as it was Tuesday night. As I stood where I had been the previous night, I had my two cameras ready to take more photos and hopefully some video (it's obvious I used different cameras because one's quality is lower than the other's but that's the one that has 700x zoom). In almost no time, the Chinese Police helicopter took off and started circling the area. This was a good sign! It would hover over the set at one point, then backup, and then take off and fly in front of the blast furnaces. Not long after circling a couple times, a couple more choppers were heard; the two Blackhawks. Sure enough they flew over and started the same routines in the area as they had on Monday night. Well, I knew what that meant; LOW flying, a lot of wind, and another opportunity for some awesome photos. So I powerwalked all the way back over to where I stood on Monday night with my younger sister, and on the way over while the buildings blocked my view from the set, I swear I heard machine gun fire and sirens (but the sirens could very well have been down the street since it is being filmed in the town). As soon as I got back to that spot, I started recording and taking photos with both cameras. And yes, eventually there was a fiery explosion. XD

Walking down a block or so, I made it to the spot where I stood on Tuesday night for almost three hours. This is before the Chinese Police helicopter started flying around:

At this point, I book it back to where I was standing in the first photo and start taking pictures. The three choppers coming around:

At one point, very unexpectedly, the three choppers flew down in front of the blast furnaces and there was a sudden few booms of fire and smoke. I wasn't recording at this point, but luckily I was already facing this direction to take photos and caught some of the explosion. Kaboom!

After that, all the choppers landed and the area grew quiet. I figured it was was time to go, and I think that's it for the TransFormers 2 filming in Bethlehem, PA. I did hear someone that called in on the radio this morning that they were filming Thursday night as well, but I don't know how accurate that is. It was initially reported to be only June 2-4.

Thanks, Haystack. Don't ever underestimate where director's want to shoot their movies, though. Bethlehem is the last place I would've thought of to turn into an old Chinese war zone. I'm really interested in seeing the final product in the movie now.

LoL Me too, Blazemane! I don't remember hearing this much hype about the first movie but I'm sure there are a lot of reasons for that. XD It's really odd to see some filming when the movie won't be finished for another year, like you said. I'll probably have forgotten most of this by that time because I have so many things going on this summer. LoL
