Gathering 08

Summer's starting to sneak up on us, and there doesn't appear to have been any talk on a 2008 Gathering yet. Is anyone still interested in going to one this summer? After all, most of us will be Botcon-deprived this year lol.

Does anyone have any suggestions for where they would like to go this year?

I know we had it in Canada in 06, but I'd like to be the first to volunteer to play host. I had a blast storming West Ed Mall a few years back with LV, and I'd kind of like to do it again with a whole crowd of you guys. Galaxy Land's made some renovations, and I'm pretty sure there's a killer summer deal availble for the water park, too. And I know a good, local, and affordable hotel that's walking distance from transit. Plus there's lots of parks around to acts out BW scenes in. Like I said though, since we had it in Canada once already, if someone else wants to host then here's your chance!

Plus, I know DC, and I can show everyone all the hotspots.

Both in terms of WiFi and cool places.

It looks like I'm gunna have to sit out any traveling destinations this summer, unfortunately. I've got a car to feed now, and I think I'll be moving out soon. Not 'soon', soon, but soon enough for me to know I need to not spend money right now. =\ College graduation is coming up in December, ect.

However, even though I have NO idea what will happen after that, I think I'll be more free to go places next summer.

...Even though I'm REALLY tempted this year against logical reasoning. D: I need to make some money this summer.

I'm still gunna go see you someday, Nurann.

*sighs* I've always wanted to go to the BWint Gatherings. But it's something I'll have to pass up if it were in the West.

Unless...

I vote HongKong! We could go to Disneyland. X3

I've just come back from a rather expensive trip to South Africa, so no gatherings for me, unfortunately. I was thinking Australia needed a turn for a Gathering, but that all depends on whether enough Aussies can travel across country to whicever city gets picked to host it. I may be going to Australia this December, but I realize that's Christmas and most people won't be willing/able to travel then. Anyway, just a thought I'm throwing out there. Otherwise, a central location in America could be good/doable for many members here. I wish I could go this year, but alas, University and random trips back home have near-bankrupt me.

I can't afford airfare...How about Sydney? It's kinda cold right now but the nightlife around the harbour is awesome. Then again, Climbing the Harbour Bridge would be cool. Hang on, that gives me an idea. Muhahahaha...hang a really big flag from the top that says "BEAST WARS FOREVER"...

No more so then when we dropped that parachute soldier toy off the top of the mall with a BWInt card tied to it.

So that's 3 "can't affords," 1 Washington DC, 1 HongKong or Philippines, and one-and a half "Australia"s. Any more nominations, or are there enough interested and able parties just start voting?

eheh..................Like I said I simply cant as my parental units are a bit iffy about that...that's why London might have been allright, coz it's within country boundries

It'ds a shame though, even though it's a little boring at times, Kuwait can be lovely! Dubai gets all the cool stuff: Concerts, festivals.....bah...

btw, I wasn't actually being serious, just hopeful....

I'll be in Boston this summer, so the trip to DC would fall in with my plans ... Oddly enough. But I would have to make it a very cheap (and probably short) trip if I did go to said location, because I have to save up for a much more expensive trip next summer: The dreaded summer semester that is required of all CFNI students. We have to do one of them for either the two or three year program.

Anyways, back on topic.

So it's a definite "maybe," depending upon location.

Singapore anyone?

Well, from my personal position atm, I'll be able to go to the potential Aussie Gathering wherever it may be (I'll put my hand up to host but I'm easy either way). I'd love to get to a Gathering in North America (wherever is fine cause I'm travelling across te globe anyway), however if that's where it ends up, I'll have to give it a miss this year and plan for Botcon 2009/10 depending on when the movie will be released.
