Sizes of the Beast Warriors

I've noticed that the sizes of the beast warriors tend to vary considerably. Most Maximals and Predacons tend to be human sized beings, but some such as Dinobot, Inferno, Megatron, Optmius, Rampage, Rhinox, and Depth Charge are MUCH bigger. I recall reading that the Maximals and Predacons chose to take on smaller, more energy efficient forms during the Great Upgrade that led to their creation, just how big were the larger Preds and Maxis? Optimal Optimus and TM2 Megatron appeared to be the same size as their autobot and decepticon ancestors, whereas in their older forms they were TINY by comparison (I've always wondered whether Megatron was small for a T-Rex or if Optimus was huge for a gorilla, lol). Rampage, Depth Charge, Dinobot, and TM2 Dinobot appear to be almost as big as Optimal Optimus and TM2 Megatron, appearing to be only slightly shorter. Inferno and Rhinox are also quite large, but I think they are smaller than the previously mentioned bots. So just how big were the heavy weight Preds and Maximals in comparison to their ancestors and eachother? 20ft? 50ft? I also wonder why some bots are significantly larger than others (Rampage and the spark upgraded Megs and Optimus being exceptions since they are unnatural transformers).

The average size of most TFs in the Beast-era is closer to humans than their ancestors.

As for why some are larger than others...it's probably a matter of taste.

I remember reading the specific heights and weights of the characters somewhere...I just can't remember where exactly....

not sure about height but i read somewhere that airazor and blackarachnia were both 6 ft. also i read somewhere that dinobot was 7 ft.

He's 7 feet? he's twice the size of rattrap. I always thought he was like 8 or 10 feet tall. I know they're much smaller than the Autobots and the Decepticons and I usually imaged them being as tall or a bit taller than humans (using Una and her brother as references of course cuz they're so called 'Pre-humans") Cheetor's about 6ft tall using that reference.

where did you see that dinobot was twice as tall as rattrap? cuz when i look at the episodes, rattrap is a lil taller than that, he's more like 5 ft.

Anyway I was looking into this.David Kaye once said in an interview that the Beast warriors were the size of humans,only taller.Optimal Optimus is probably the hal hte size of Optimus Prime(And way taller than Rampage),while Transmetal Megatron was the size of Prime's head(lol)


Rampage is around 10 1/2 feet tall since back in Season To he was the tallest Transformer there.

Dinobot is 9 feet and Rattrap around 5'6-5'7,although in his Transmetal form he seems to be around 5'11,since he was able to reach his chest(However,it's an estimate)

Silverbolt was quite taller than Blackarachnia.When he kneeled down in one Episode,he was almsot the same height as Blackarachnia.I'm guessin he's 7 feet and Blackarachnia 6 feet,since she's a little shorter than Transmetal Two Cheetor(This was in her pre-Transmetal form),and since Rattrap was 5'11,I'm guessing Cheetor in his TMII mode was 6'2 feet.

Yeah I noticed that Meg's was the size of Primes head but there's a problem there SPIKE WITWICKY is also the size of Optimus primes head. So either Megatron is shorter than we realize or Spike was a very tall kid.
I wrote a fic over the summer where this human girl wound up in their time. She was about 5ft and looked up to everyone. It sounds like a stupid way to compare somebody but it was the easiest way for me to guess their size. But then again optimus optimus Primal is STILL shorter than Optimus prime even in his third form and Megatron doesn't seem to get any taller when he gets upgraded. and when he's standing in front of the real Megatron he's small enough to fit in his lap and reaches about to his chin. Course I have no idea how tall the REAL Megatron is so I can't really compare them but it gives you a pretty good idea.
Correction. He DOESN'T even reach the other Megatron's chin. I just rewatched that part. HE'S TINY!!!!!!!!! but of course megatron is a spark thief and greedy. He didn't even give it back! optimus had to MAKE him give it back.

Well you have to remember that G1 physics is different to Beast Wars physics.

Either that,or Spike is incredibly tall.

I remember reading that when rattrap stood on his hind legs in beast mode in season 1 he was about 5'. Cheetor's beast mode and Tigeatron's beast mode are the same size of a regular cheetah and Ttger, Optimus Primal's gorilla is about the same size of a real gorilla. Rhinox has a small beast mode for a Rhino and Airazor's beast mode is big and so is Dinobot's but their is a theory that Dinobot was a Utahraptor and not a Velociraptor which makes him roughly the right size in beast mode. Megatron is small for a T-rex. Terrorsaur is also small. The rest of the Predicons have huge beast modes compared to the real animals.

Not looking for numbers, just comparisons ( the posted pictures are helpful, but only to a point - since it's not a straight line-up, proportonal heights are thrown off between closer and farther figures. ) So I'm looking for general things like 'taller than Rhinox but shorter than Inferno'.

Anyway, since I've only got bits and pieces of S2 and S3 Beast Wars, I'm iffy on the heights of Ravage, Depthcharge, and Tigerhawk. Also, was TMII Dinobot the same size as Original Recipe Dinobot, or was he bigger?

( Comparisons to Optimal Optimus won't help, since he's so far out of scale with the rest of the cast. :p )
