There is only Silence Here

The World lies silent to listening ears,
Naught a single voice a listener hears,
No children here laugh and play,
Through the sunlit morn of the new day.
There is only silece here.
The only notable sound that here lies,
The makers away from viewing eyes,
Is the soft and muted natural tone,
of the insects this world has known.
There is only silence here.
No voices across the hillock and dales ring,
No jubilant tones in happy choruses sing.
The sun shines upon an empty world,
Bright flower petals burnt and curled.
There is only silence here.
Ominious smoke hover's o'er sunlit air,
Billowing black and grey clouds loom there.
Ash lays thick o'er stained, marred ground.
Naught a resident life to be found.
There is only silence here.
I look o'er this place from a nearby hill,
Looking upon the remains of a world now still.
The silence lies o'er all like a heavy blanket grey,
Muffling and muddying the sunshine day.
There is only silence here.
Hands stained a morbid crimson red,
The color of bloods that have been bled.
I turn from the view, and down the hill,
I mutter, and witha few words the silence fill...
"There is only... silence here..."
