Haunted
Hello

Author’s
Note:
I’m nearly there, with the end of this short series. *anime tears*
WWWWWWWAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! *sniffle* Okay, I’m better . . . Hasbro and
Mainframe still own Beast Wars, Evanescence owns their songs, and I own . . .
a small bit of satisfaction that I have finally pulled this off. Hmm . . . I
wonder if the rights for Dinobot are up for sale?
Long
lost words whisper slowly to me
Still
can’t find what keeps me here
Dinobot
panted, leaning against a tree for a brief respite, hearing fire crackle
around him ominously. He pressed his hand against a gash in his arm, hoping to
stop the flow of mech-fluid at least a small bit. He heard a terrified
almost-human shriek, and stood straight once more, starting to run towards the
sound.
When
all this time I’ve been so hollow inside
I
know you’re still there
Sinead
clung to the rock with all her might, hoping that she wouldn’t fall. She
felt carefully with her left foot to below her, trying to find another
foot-hold. Carefully, when she found one, she slowly put her weight down onto
it. It held, and she inched downwards once again.
When
she was seven feet from the floor of the valley, she dropped, and rolled
carefully, stopping herself against a tree. She curled up slightly, and gasped
for breath. Less than a minute later, a scream was heard. Standing, she
started towards the sound slowly, not wanting to be caught.

Dinobot’s
mind wasn’t completely upon saving these proto-humans. It was upon who would
someday descend from them. If . . . if he failed here, what would happen to
her? Would she never exist? Would they have met?
Dinobot
wasn’t sure that he wanted to know.
Fearing
you loving you
I
won’t let you pull me down
Sinead
was sobbing for breath now, but her eyes were alight with a flame that only a
warrior can possess. The small proto-human was whimpering behind her, as she
brandished a hardwood stick before her, glaring at the odd bot before her.
“Back off, freak.”
“Hah!
’Yah’re even more slahggin’
idiotic than that ’Rapteh!”
“Who
are you.”
“Whay
. . . Quickstrike?”
Hunting
you I can smell you - alive
Your
heart pounding in my head
Sinead
attacked with a fury that even surprised her.
Within seconds, she had rendered Quickstrike unconscious, and then turned to
face the green-eyed child behind her. “Go on, little one. Get to your
family. Go.”
The
child blinked once, then turned and ran. Sinead leaned upon the stick, then
set off following the tracks that Dinobot had left behind.

Rampage
was down and out, as well as Waspinator. The crab had promptly imploded, right
after Dinobot had shoved Waspinator into his cannon. He turned, and looked up
at the darkening sky, sighing. He looked back down at his wounds, numerous
though they were, and saw that only one could have been fatal. Up until then,
they were all normal scratches.
Saving
me raping me
Watching
me
A
twig snapped behind him, and he spun, weaponry armed, and bristled for another
fight.
A
human of lithe build, mahogany hair tangled and dirtied, stormy blue eyes
weary but determined, stood there, leaning upon a staff of some sort of wood.
Dinobot
took a step towards her, but saw a larger form behind her. She . . . had she
been in league with him this whole
time?! “You . . . you slagging traitor.”
She
blinked in shock, then heard a twig snap close behind her, and she whirled,
staff swinging low to catch the shadow’s knees. He
was too fast, as he knocked her flat, and sending her skidding into a pile of
rocks.
Playground
school bell rings again
Rain
clouds come to play again
Dinobot
was astounded that he had been wrong, happily so, but realization hit him a
moment later, causing him to roar in fury, as he charged at Megatron, gun
firing wildly.
Megatron
laughed, saying something that Dinobot ignored through his anger, and turned
and left. Dinobot waited for the attack from any other side, but none came.
Finally, he walked over to the form of the human that he had been closer to,
than any other female. He knelt painfully, and reached over to touch her neck
carefully, trying to feel for the pulse of life within.
Has
no one tell you she’s not breathing?
Hello
I’m your mind giving you someone to talk to
Hello
He
let his hand fall, feeling none.
But
. . . she was breathing.
“Sinead?”
Her
fist swung out, and connected solidly with the side of his face. Once he was
able to see straight, her voice accompanied it. “Call me traitor again, and
I’ll castrate you.”
If
I smile and don’t believe
Soon
I know I’ll wake from this dream
Dinobot
rubbed at his face, then grasped her hand. “I’ll come back for you. Stay
here.”
“No
. . . Dinobot . . .”
“I
have to follow Megatron.”
He
left her before she could protest. She sat up, feeling her world spin.
Somehow, her left hand had still held onto the staff. She used that to stand,
over the span of five precious minutes. The yell of victory reached her ears.
It was victory . . . but at the highest cost.
Knowing
that she was only going to hurt herself more either way, she ran towards the
sound, and saw him, lying there . . .
Don’t
try to fix me I’m not broken
Hello
I’m the lie living for you so you can hide
Don’t
cry
Sinead
was crying even before she knew where she was. Somehow, she had reached
Dinobot’s side, and was holding his had, fiercely grasping it, as if her
touch alone would keep him alive longer. Slowly, she was aware that others
were around her.
Dinobot’s
optics activated slowly, even breathing proving to be an effort. Sinead’s
voice was hoarse, a sad portrayal of what it was usually. “D-Dinobot . .
.”
“You
knew . . . as well as I.”
“But
. . .”
“Don’t
cry. You . . . you knew that it would come.”
Suddenly
I know I’m not sleeping
Hello
I’m still here
All
that’s left of yesterday
Sinead
closed her eyes, kissing his hand, and nodding, watching his optics looking
over her one last time, as he whispered a quiet pledge that Sinead barely
managed to repeat . . . And then they darkened forever . . .
His
Spark rose up, but Sinead couldn’t make herself look. It was too painful, as
if someone was ripping her own soul from her, and holding it out, teasing her.
Finally, it lowered once before her face. The last sight that she saw before
blacking out in the early hours of April 27, 2003 . . . was the sight of
Dinobot holding her, while she was sound asleep, on February 14, 2003 . . .
the first time that they had met.
