Oz BW gathering

Hey,

I know this is somewhat unlikely, however after being asked by Miss Special I began to ponder the practicality of such an event. So just throwing it out there. How many people would be interested and/or capable of coming to a BW gathering down here in Australia?

I must state that this is purely hypothetical so I don't want people jumping to conclusions (however if anyone is coming to Sydney feel free to notify me and I'll show you around town and we can go to mine and watch the Aussie BW DVDs with voice actor interviews ).

its a shame, iv been hoping to visit ozzyland for a while, but (dont take this the wrong way, Silver) Egypt hold priority over Oz. how bout an egyptian style bwint gethering? *okay rambliness taking over...moving on*

i think the oz gathering would be a good idea for several of the members iv seen here from oz itself. in fact, this may sound a bit unfair to ppl who live in the middle of practically nowhere (like me!) to have local gatherings of just a few ppl from tht area. like Sapphire said, there will be 4 ppl in london in june, and iv sen quite a few ppl here saying theyr going to botcon whenever...u could have a side-gathering, just to talk and meet everybody in person! something id love to do, but fear i never will...o well. one more reason to stay addicted to this place!

If you can pull enougn BW fans together in any one place in the world to constitute a Gathering, I say go for it. There's no reason why Australia shouldn't get one if enough people are willing to attend. I oversee the official Gatherings (2005 was in California, 2006 in Canada and 2007 is set to be in the UK) but I know others arrange smaller, unofficial Gatherings (I think there was one in Oregon last year and there may be a pre/post-Botcon Gathering in Boston this year). I try to have the official Gathering in a different location in the world each year. This year London works out beautifully because so many Bwint members are coming here, especially over the summer. If at some point down the line, maybe next year, a number of BW fans are heading or thinking of going to Australia then jump at the opportunity and pull as many people together as you can. I'd love to go to Australia some day. If there was a gathering, that'd be an added incentive.

OK. Well its a definite option. I can get a venue for (almost) free at a local club and I know how I would have it decked out. The real catch is attendees (which is the main point of this thread) if there is enough interest I would gladly work out an event.. hell I've probably even got enough room at my place to hold a reasonably sized convention.. hmmm... well its out there. Any ideas anyone?

not necessarily you own place, Silver...you know, meeting strangers over the internet an all (not offense to anyone here, its just a general thing)

layout...not too much G1 stuff. it is, after all, a bwint ozzy gathering?
you could ask ppl whov been to bwint gathering before via pm (not me...sniff) and ask wht sort of things they had and develop ur own ideas. plus, get a set list of ppl whom you know who are def thinking of coming and get their opinions. if i were going (which id love to) possibly wear name tags of ur username so ppl know who you are without goin hi my name is (name) im a member of bwint and my username is (watever)...i no i no but iv had that idea for a while now...s'cool, rite?

O! and make tshirts! like the ones in tht link you gave us...shame you dont live out here, you couls have 100 shirts done in your own design for 20KD ( which is NOT much!) and theyr really good quality too.
