BW/I,Robot musings

Unread post by Lady Scale »

I've had this thought on my mind for a while now. A Beast Wars/I, Robot(movie) crossover topic.

For those who have seen the movie, what would be your take/opinion on Spooner's or Kalvin's reaction to Depth Charge? or even Rampage? If DC was brought into questioning much like Sonny, what would the 'chat' be like?

As in, what would be the results of another 'transport portal' incident into that alternate universe be?

It doesn't necessarily need to be an RPG or anything major, little scribbles are okay. Anyone who would like to share their ideas, please post here. ^_^

Spooner sat with his ordinance neatly around him, just waiting for one of those beasties . . . robots . . . things . . . to come after him. They intimidated even the local robots, and that was enough for him. Only Sonny was able to talk with them without overloading his logic processor. "Blasted things . . ."

Kalvin, on the other hand was looking as if she wanted one of those guns he was sitting upon. Her hands were gesticulating wildly as she trued to reason with Rhinox. "But the three rules . . ."

"I don't know what you're talking about. I'm sorry."

"Perhaps they are like me?" Sonny asked, blinking innocently, genuinely interested in these newcomers.

"Sonny, not now."

"So what are these three rules?" one of the new robots asked, his voice young.

Kalvin threw her hands up and stalked off, growling something about malfunctioning pieces of junk.

*snicker* Well, we know that Kalvin described herself in the movie as a robot psychologist. What do you think the appointments with each of them would be like?

If anyone here is a Serenity/Firefly fan, I'm picturing if the BW cast were interviewed like Sonny, we would have a situation like when the Serenity crew were taking aboard the cruiser and interrogated. DC would be like Jayne, sitting there not saying a word. RT would be like Wash "Have you ever been with an amazonian woman." Cheetor would be like Kaylee (yes I know he's a guy and most guys will whinge about this comparison but who else is that innocent in this series). Mal would obviously be Optimus and the rest you can work out for yourselves.

If they were interviewing Rampage the obvious comparison would be Hannibal Lecter meets the Terminator.

The psychology of AI is quite fun to delve into. When I studied it at uni, we looked at the various ways of interpreting information and the methods in which the robot could react. Has anyone actually read Asimov's stuff?
It's ok sir. I'll be fine...

umm...Silver? i, robot connections?

okypoke (sorry, my friend sez that its getting really irritating)
i cant even begin to describe what the psychology sessions would be if the client was rampage/DC...ouch...calvin might need an army of robots as well as spooner to give herself enough time to leg it out of the room! leaving everyone else, of course! (i have more ideas for this, but im too lazy)

WAIT!!!...
laziness being averted to energy!!!

GROUP THERAPY!!!!!! PRED CENTRAL!!!!! have Calvin (without patronising them too much ie calling them 'unique...might go pear-shaped if you ask me!) psyco-analyse the preds both individually and as a group...ya...need to be paid overtime for that! lts start with...waspinator..."how do you feel when the others leave you to be disintegrated, blown up and overall hurt? are you hurt on the insode as well, waspinator?"
"wazzzzzbinatorrrr not happy!!!!! wazzzzzbinatorrrr not apprecccciate get blown up salvage no one does! nobody love wazzzzbinatorrrr. wazzzzbinatorrrr need to loooooovvved...."

ooo...kay!

WHO'S NEXT?! COMEON.....I KNOW YOU WANT TO!

Yes.. I know its an iRobot discussion. I merely used another series to explain my thoughts on the topic, as well as my real life experiences to further my point. :D

Additionally, you do know that iRobot was written by the father of modern robotics Issac Asimov? I just wanted to know if anyone has read any of the stories because there are some really fascinating scenarios developed to look at shortcomings of AI.
