Since Sinead is without internet, I have volunteered to post in her absence.
She wanted me to tell everyone that she is going to start hunting around for the best, lowest priced hotels around the area of next year's convention. When she finds them, she'll have them posted up here for reference.
Botcon 2007 is only a short 8 months away! the time to start planning is now.

Everything just seems to want me to be up towards Boston during next year. Several friends, Anime Boston, a few colleges... And now Botcon. It was inevitable.
Can't wait to see everyone again!

Ooh! my idea was stickied!
I'm at the library, and I'm looking at reservations for June 28, 2007 to July 2, 2007, looking at a room for 2 adults, no kids. That's a Thursday to a Monday, which the convention weekend. There are two Queen-sized beds, and I have the feeling that it'll end up feeling something like La Quinta this year.
Cheapest and closest so far is in Warwick, which is 9 miles from downtown Providence. It's called the Best Western Providence Airport, because it's less than a mile from the T.F. Green Airport in Providence. It's more expensive than the La Quinta this year by about $20 a night, but if you're sharing a room with someone, then it won't be that bad.
Thursday: $92
Friday: $106
Satday: $106
Sunday: $92
Monday: (Checking out)
Those are if you're booking off of Expedia.com. I'll be continuing the search a bit later, but this looks the best so far. I MIGHT have a car by then, so shuttling people back and forth shouldn't be a problem. Then again, if the prospective gathering in FLA next year goes through, and there are people road-tripping up here, it shouldn't be much of an issue either way.
Also, this is the info page I found:
http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll?qs ... m=f&shtl=1
Also, I'm in for helping Sapph and Varyn get here!!!

Cool! Not painful at all if two people split. I am so up for that. I have been checking around for flights and I've been coming up around 250 for those. I did find a cheaper flight with orbitz coming to a nice find of 213.
I'll start working again as soon as I can to save up for a flight, half a hotel room, and the primus package (good grief I'm crazy)

Actually go ahead Hacker...how is it that flying to Providence is way cheaper than flying to Louisville?
Seriously like $200 cheaper? (and the price I totaled early is only if I can't find suitable roomies.)

Two hundred dollars cheaper? wow...hmm I'm not too sure on that one. *shrugs* but oh well.
I did find some cool prices over at the south western site, but I'm not too sure how that one works. There were tickets priced at $150 to go from Louisville to Providence.

This time, we should share plane information and other such plans a bit more so we can be better coordinated this time. We made do pretty well (for the most part) this year, but I think we do better.
Which airport should I begin looking into? The one in Boston, or the one in Providence? (As there was talk of Boston being right by Providence-- how close, time-wise, exactly?)
Good job with the recon so far, people! Let's have more of it!

Sorry for the lack of posts. My Internet keeps cutting out. Have to wait til dad gets home from Oxford to fix it. So far it's survived for 20 minutes after much fighting with the router and phoning the ISP. Here's hoping it'll last.
I just wanted to say that for me, flying to Boston is much cheaper than flying to Providence. If Sinead can fetch me and take me to the airport, then I can get the flight for 281 pounds, which is better than Prov which is 100 pounds more. I have to have a cheap flight, as somehow I managed to eat 460 pounds out of my college savings for this trip which I need to earn back somehow. X_x I agree with Miss Spesh, co-ordinating flights is a good idea. Not sure if I can go yet, but I'm gonna try.

Wow, you're all incredibly amazing. I will see what I can do to save up. It may not be much, but I shall try
