It's called a "Fan Built Bot" poll, and you can vote daily. You can vote on not just the allegiance and alt mode, but also this new TF's color scheme, signature weapon (of which there are some VERY neat options), and personality!

After all the votes are tallied, the winning traits will be made into a new TF toy to be released sometime next year, and Transformers.com will detail the making of this new Transformers character in the coming months. He/she will also get an IDW comic miniseries next year!

I just went all out. A purple and bronze Autobot wildman tank with a flamethrower. Lol.

A SECOND round of voting characteristics is now up! You can now vote on the name, gender, City of Origin, and Speciality.

From the name choices, it appears that the new TF will be an Autobot with some sort of aerial alt mode. Also, given how excellent most of the names are, the odd name "Cashtron" seems to be there for almost no other reason than to tell us the winning color scheme (green and gold).

(I voted Autobot Wraith, Male, Kaon (that's the Decepticon hometown, might be interesting to have an Autobot that came from there) and Telepath.

I essentially voted the same as Starshadow other than her being a combat medic instead.

Not necessarily, if you look at some of the big boards there's a big push for a female character here. At this point I would be surprised if the winning character is a male.

However, my personal opinion is that I've never been fond of gender in Transformers in general-- pretty much any explanation for gender in TFs except for the IDW-verse (that all TFs are asexual and genderless and the male pronoun is merely one of convenience, since it sounds more personable than "it", the sole exception being Arcee, who was a science experiment by Jhiaxus-- which a lot of fans seem to HATE, BTW) ranges from mediocre to downright ridiculous in my book. In addition, if an (official, not-fanfic) TF is "female," because it's so unusual, it seems to be a fairly large part of defining their character, whereas if the TF is "male", it really doesn't have much, if any, part in their character. And I'd rather have a new character who will be getting their own comic miniseries next year to have a really interesting backstory that doesn't have to devote time to explain away their "gender" in the IDW-verse, thus I'm voting male.

Aaand Hasbro revealed the finalized design sketch (it's still a long ways away from reality, folks) for the Fan Built Bot, to receive a toy in the 2nd half of 2014!

On the one hand, it looks quite nice. I LOVE the Geisha look. On the other hand, not one of the characteristics I voted for won...
