Botcon 2013 plans and recruiting

Our hotel's been booked as of last night. Or... reserved. Whatever it's called? Anyway. DLO and I will be at the Con hotel.

Now all that's left is registration.

I'm not sure what to think of this. I'm happy, certainly, but I work so darn hard every day that I lack the energy to be excited. That should change in a few months though (Primus willing I graduate and find a job... )

Fourth exclusive of the box set's been revealed, and as (now) expected, it's Obsidian, a remold of Autobot Alliance Highbrow. UNexpectedly, he's in his original green toy colors:

Apparently he was originally planned to be in his show colors, but it was "requested" by someone who apparently had such pull that he be in toy colors. (Could a Generations Obsidian toy be incoming, and Hasbro wanted this version to be more different visually? Hrrm....) Regardless,loving the head sculpt and that my favorite duo in TFs are getting new toys, but a bit disappointed he isn't black.

(Another interesting footnote: Machine Wars takes place during the G1/BW/BM timeline, but before BW and BM. So Obsidian and Strika here are Autobots, before they "turn" to Megatron in Beast Machines.)

-Of note is that the announced guests so far are David Sobolov (Depthcharge, Prime Shockwave) and James Horan (Prime Wheeljack).

They're saying that actual preregistration should start sometime next week.

The fifth and final box set exclusive figure has been revealed-- though the brochure mentioned it was Megaplex, now we know what he looks like (he's a redeco of Prime Voyager-class Skyquake/Dreadwing):

I've got some crappy news. The townhouse my boyfriend and I applied for opened up about a month sooner than we'd been told to expect. It now looks like our possession date is the same weekend as Botcon. Sadly, it looks like I'm going to have to bail as rent + utilities + moving costs = all my spare botcon funds
