Blackarachnia: Good or Bad?

Blackarachnia is one of the Beast Wars most complicated characters, remaining a Predacon schemer throughout most of the series but later reforming and becoming a Maximal due to her love for Silverbolt (CURSE YOU ROVER AND YOUR MAXIMAL WILES!  ). When they reintroduced her during Transformers Animated they remade her as an autobot who was mutated into a biomechanical mutant & joined the Decepticons, basically being reimagined as a "Fallen Angel" sort of character who couldn't let go of the past and allowed her own self loathing and obsession with becoming normal again rule her actions. In that series she was mostly villainous, but had a few moments when she seemed to show signs of still having "inner autobot goodness" within her so to speak . So what I ask you all is...Do you prefer Blackarachnia good or evil? Pred or Maxi? And any particular reason why?

I preferred her more as a good character. I felt she contributed more to the story as a heroine than a villain. Also, I like Silverbolt so the fact that he successfully converted her made me like the two of them even more.

I agree with Alak 100%! Couldn't have said it any better.

I actually couldn't stand her after she became a 'true' Maximal. She just lost that edge that I enjoyed about the character initially. In the few episodes of Beast Machines that I saw, I kept hoping the character would die. She was still ok as long as she maintained that spunk I enjoyed from her Predacon days though, but towards the end of season 3 I was no longer a BA fan.

I appreciate her for being a fleshed-out character. Which side of the factions she falls into doesn't really matter to me.

So if they ever did another Beast Wars show as they've done for the G1 transformers over the years you'd rather BA be a heroine instead of a baddie again? Or at least make that change at somepoint?

P.S. I gotta admit the Silverbolt/Blackarachnia pairing was rather fun at times

Ugh, Beast Machines...That's a series I'd rather forget altogether, HATED what they did to all the characters on the show (Silverbolt, Rattrap, and Megatron suffered the worst I think), probably the main reason why there hasn't been another Beast Wars series since.

Anyway, I agree Blackarachnia, even as a heroine, should always have a bad gal edge to her. I enjoyed her during season 3, but I dunno if I'd want to see her go through the whole "Villain to hero" thing again if she showed up in a new series, might be more fun to see her as the sneaky anti-heroine of the Maximal team or as a devious Predacon from start to finish, just to keep her character fresh.

I agree. Blackarachnia is a bad girl even when she's a Maximal. But, being a Blackarachnia fan from the beginning, her character appealed to me more when she was a Predacon. But I don't mind her switching sides. I enjoy when things happen that are a little unexpected for instance a villian turning good or even the other way around...a good guy turning bad! And it was always Blackarachnia and all the other male characters....so I could relate to her. It's always me and a bunch of guys hanging out. I almost never hand out with girls. So that's probably why she was always one of my favorites.

I think making the transition, I liked when she was still technically a Predacon, but was helping Silverbolt and the Maximals. "Even if I'm good, I'm still bad." I think BA could never be a 100% Maximal good guy-err, girl. She would always have some Predacon into her.

Good/evil doesn't matter to me, I was never a big fan of Blackarachnia.

She lost her edge when she becames good. Plus it seen like she did more melee fighting when she was a predacon.
