Name: Ironclaw
Allegiance: Maximal
Function: Engineer and Warrior
Beast mode: Honey Badger http://cdn1.arkive.org/media/27/27E4B02 ... raging.jpg
Height:
10 feet happy?(in beast mode 3’)
Quote: “I'd rather just be fixing things”

Strength: 7
Intelligence: 7
Speed: 5
Endurance: 7
Rank: (Staff assigned)
Courage: 7
Firepower: 5
Skill: 7

Weapons (Robot mode): extendable claws mounted on his wrists. He also has cannons attached to his wrists which are suited to short to medium range combat.
In beast mode: Teeth and claws

Abilities: He can fix things under extreme pressure as is often relied upon for his engineering skills during a fight. Because of his beast mode he has a strong sense of smell and can find things under the ground.

Weaknesses: Because he is descended from the mighty Ironhide he tends to doubt himself, he also lacks confidence in battle, making him an easy target to his enemies. He prefers to use range weapons then hand to hand combat, because of his beast mode he can only run for short distances. His loyalty can he used against him, because he will not abandon a team mate nor will he leave them to their fate.

Bio: Because Ironclaw is descended from Ironhide people had great expectations for him, but instead of becoming a weapons specialist he became an engineer. While training as an engineer he also trained to fight, knowing that it would hurt to learn how to defend himself. He trained for years as an engineer and a warrior, but he was far better as an engineer then he was as a warrior. While working on a star hoppers wiring, he accidentally turned it on, having no experience on how to pilot, he had no choice but to allow it to travel to it’s destination. Moments later he past through a worm hole and began to descend toward a strange blue and green planet, during which the ship went haywire and crashed upon impact. His scanners managed to scan a Honey Badger before going permanently off line, now he is stuck on an unknown planet with no where to go.

Yes! We finally have an engineer! I actually have an idea for you (feel free to disregard it).

Military engineers are often used in assault squads as heavy arms specialists. I'm not talking about LMGs or pod placement guns. I'm talking about rockets, breaching explosives, anti-tank mines, etc. Keep in mind, these guys are counter-measures against the big things, not against infantry soldiers. Not only do they act as tools of destruction, but engineers would be responsible to repairing heavy machinery like vehicles, turrets, structures, etc. All that heavy duty stuff I mentioned before won't be possible for Ironclaw in Season 1 due to his meek firepower rating of 5 as well as his equally shaky confidence in battle. However, once Season 2 comes in, your OC may be able to segue into a more military-class engineer as opposed to civil class. His role as a tactical response against the Predacon's Leviathan transport, defense turrets, enemy vehicle modes, and more will help him with his insecurities. Will he be another Ironhide? Who knows, but at least Ironclaw's effectiveness and contributions in the Beast Wars will be on par with the actions of his ancestor.

Breaching eh? Well I suppose that would be more useful then Icebreaker's jury rigging and Rattrap being the only proper Demo expert.

I don't really see much of a problem with Ironclaw's profile, though this is the season 2 section, your stats are well suited for popping in at season one, specially as I mentioned in another post setting up a separate thing to bring new characters in. So that just leaves what you would like to do in season 2? You would still have the option of either going transmetal, or staying as a normal. If normal is the case, then you'd gain three extra stat points to use in season 2 as well as another weapon slot (you currently have 1 weapon slot remaining as OC characters are allowed 3 weapons, in season 2 this becomes 4. The arm claws are not counted as a weapon slot as they are likely from your beast mode. )

Ranking 6. Hrm.. the Maximals are going to have someone as good at tunneling as Inferno now.

I guess you mean a sort of mission specialist? That will definitely be considered although I still want to have a progression with him. He will start of as just a civil engineer and less of a combatant, afterwards he will be ready for most things. Yes he will be like Ironhide when the time comes. And by Ironhide I mean the depiction that the recent movies have portrayed. Thats why I put his firepower as 5 becuase I think that in the movies he doesn't have great fire power just deadly when it comes to mid-close range combat. I dont know if his engineering skills will translate into something more when he reaches his potential but I guess we can see what heppens.

I will add another weapon. I will remain normal, no transmetal for Ironclaw thanks. Arriving is season 2 would be a god enough opening for my character, I have discussed Ironclaw's first contact and the like with Night-hunter.

LOL! "Wai! Kawaii!" The edits are almost perfect! The tentacle drill idea is similar to Airachnid's drilling ability annnnd Cece won't have rings but glowing amber lines around her tentacles. Eh...I'm gonna work on her reference...

Just giving you guys a heads up, I added some information to TM Orcariner's profile. They're mostly clarification purposes. I'll do my best to summarize:

- Elaborated differences in armor (S1 vs. S2).
- Clarified that boosters and grav lifts allow him to fly in robot mode.
- Mentioned defensive use of sword.
- Expanded radius of bubble shield.
- Included weakness to hackers (we have some, but I don't see them do any actual hacking so maybe this weakness will help out).
- Elaborated weakness to status ailments.

I'm a bit concerned that his Courage is still a 7 since I'm trying to develop his character, as well. It seems the experience has gone towards Skill, but maybe I'll attribute the lack of change in Courage to his change in mindset and personality. He'll be more experienced, yet retain a familiar degree of naivety... if that makes any sense at all. Also, I have one intended change in mind which was not included yet because I want some feedback first.

Insulation. Do we have mention it or is it implied for characters with flight-based vehicle modes. I thought of this while on the plane since many airplanes get struck by lightning every year, but they don't crash as a result of it. I Googled how planes insulate themselves from lightning storms and it seems like a universal trait for all aerial vehicles. There's going to be a LOT of flyers in Season 2 so would it be necessary to say in the biographies that these helicopters, planes, surfers, skimmers, etc, etc, etc. are insulated or can we just universally accept this?

Keep in mind that this is just for mother nature. I'm sure that if an electrical weapon like the Raver Blade impales someone, the side-effects of the weapons would be the same as intended.

(ok, apparently raver blade was tossed out for season 2 so replace that example with electro-katana instead)

That's fine. And the Raver blade was thrown out since I added the pinpoint barrier. Plus I figured it'd be easier for Glowstick to simply shoot Orcariner's sword or arm to parry or slow the course of his blow with the sword, or even block a slash with a continuous beam. And you noticed a key point about the lightning thing, that is in fact why Glowstick never uses that sword while on the ground, he'd electrocute himself far worse then he normally would be.

As for hackers, generally most of them would never attempt wireless hacking, as that was only seen done by Megatron in Season 2 briefly. I'm hoping Phoenix's new character might take that up. In Theory, Glowstick could do that(through comlink data, or TM style's tentacles in circuits), but since hacking isn't his specialty, I never bothered with it. So thus.. hackers are for the most part are useless, unless they gain some incentive to do something with it..

With all the discussion going on in this thread already, there isn’t need for anything too systematic as far as approval goes. But I haven’t actually discussed anyone’s characters yet, so here’s what’s on my mind.

Orcariner: Scary for the Predacons, but with equally scary Predacons running around, he isn’t too powerful.

I also feel that with Optimus relying on him regularly for debriefings, and with the initiative he takes in battle by making himself a shield, a rank of 7 is better than 6.

Terra: Obedience to commanders, level-headedness and loyalty to teammates are traits that don’t (normally) go together in the Predacon army. Very interesting character. And I like the choice of weapons. 6 seems like a good rank since, on one hand, Terra seems so willing to serve, and on the other, she can be trusted in that service.

Wintersong: Wheeled tiger sounds awesome. I noticed one thing, though- Wintersong’s bio says she’ll watch the planet buster from outside the Axalon. I don’t know that she’d survive that. The planet buster was superheating the Earth. The temperature would probably kill any Transformers stuck outside the two bases’ protective shields. And before Optimus destroyed it, it almost detonated enough energon to blow the whole planet up, so if there was a small part of the Earth which was sheltered from the heat (and given the insulation of the Earth’s atmosphere in the past, I’m not sure there would be such a place), I don’t think she’d be able to reach it in time.

As for rank, seeing as she’s becoming more of a team player, I think moving her rank from 5 to 6 would be cool.

Frilla: I notice that Frilla now has 5 weapons, but as was being discussed on the thread, the weapon limit should be different for season two (on that note, Phoenix- I don’t think there’s any need for you to remove your grenade launcher), so I don’t have a problem with that. Her firepower rating of 2, however, doesn’t quite add up to me since she has a double-barrel laser gun and electro-scrambler. Her bio also mentions that, although she has become more courageous, she’s “still a bit of a coward”. Yet her courage stat is 9. Just as a suggestion, maybe some points from her courage stats should be shifted to her firepower stats.

As for rank, Frilla had a rank of 4. And she was rather reserved in the Predacons. But once she discovered she didn’t belong with the Predacons, she seemed to have taken a more active role for her new team. Again, a shift to a rank of 6 (or maybe just 5) seems logical to me.

By the way, giving a lizard the ability to glide is also awesome.

Feralnight: I don’t think anything needs to be changed in her bio, and I still like the rank she had earlier (6). I’m surprised that the quantum surge changed her accent from Australian to English, though. I… suppose it’s possible. Alien technology and all that.

Manterror: I see that stats were adjusted from Hasbro’s own, but I like the new ones. I know he gets beat up a lot in the game, but I kinda’ think it’s just him not catching a break- he still has the potential to be very deadly. And while Megatron has seen at least one of his grudges (against Frilla), he still throws him into battle consistently (and hasn’t recognized his desire to become leader yet, unless I’ve missed something). So I still like 6 for a rank.

Starshadow: A galva-conductor! Yes. I have no issues with her abilities, weapons or weaknesses. I’m hovering between 6 and 7 for the rank here. She has taken on a mentoring role for Cecaelia, and she may well prove one of the Predacons’ most dangerous warriors this coming season. Of course, she did have to be forced to stay with the Predacons by Glowstick (so her loyalty is in question), and she continues to be unpredictable. So I’m not sure.

Sonar: I like the story arc planned for him. Of course, as he grows more and more insane, he is going to be less and less reliable for Megatron. And, even in the first season, it seemed he was often doing his own thing. If it’s not too drastic, I’m think his rank could drop from 7 to 5.

Glowstick: Another one of the scary characters. This season is going to present some interesting battles. I like his weakness, though. Rank 8 still seems good to me.

Icebreaker: Not much has changed. His bio was good then, it’s good now. But he is another character who, in the role play, often plays a key role in the Maximal operations because of his versatility (provided by all the equipment he packs combined with his fighting skills and his knowledge of field medicine and improvisational engineering). A rank of 7 seems better than 6.

One question, though:
His courageous nature makes him almost seem a daredevil or suicidal against impossible odds though seems to have enough luck not to hang himself a lot of the time.
Seems to have bad luck almost as bad as Waspinator's.
I admit I’m a little confused.

For what it’s worth, I haven’t seen any examples of his bad luck. Maybe I’ve forgotten something.

Nemesis: I don’t have anything to say about the rank. But the stealth jet idea rocks. And again, I think she should keep the grenade launcher. She has 6 firepower, after all. Maybe she should even get another weapon. Or… what happened to the explosive ability

Cecaelia: Once again, I don’t have anything to bring up concerning her bio (whether Starshadow’s going to use the one she has posted, or Naitokage’s edited version). I’m thinking rank 5 for her. She could fit well into many Predacon missions, but the fact that she doesn’t attack aquatic Maximals (and is, in fact, friends- of some sort- with most of them) means she could often disregard mission objectives.

Ironclaw: I really like him, especially since he’s a honey badger. Technically, the movieverse Ironhide is a separate character from the generation 1 Ironhide, but… if people are fine with the continuity discrepancy, we may as well that be. Of course, even if we decide generation 1 Ironhide has to be his ancestor, there are many common qualities among the two. I think both versions would be equal heroes to aspire to (or to suffer being compared to). Of course… the movieverse Ironhide is my favorite character in that continuity, so I can understand if Mystrea wants to be particular.

Also, Mystrea, Ironclaw definitely doesn’t have to go transmetal, but, like Naitokage said, he still gets a +3 boost. You can add it right now if you want (assuming you want the boost). We’ve only got a few episodes left in season one.

I agree with Naitokage on rank: 6.

Venatrix: I’d just like to mention that, when her stats were updated to include firepower for her new weapon, her season two stat bonus wasn’t included (my suggestion is that the 3 points should be added to her skill so she still has a 10 in that area).

Arachnitron: Everything seems balanced in Arachnitron’s bio. I think her skill set will make her valuable to the Predacons, but her tendency to keep to herself and her occasional personality glitches will make her unpredictable. I think a rank of 6 would be good.
Heh, originally it was just Blaze. I was added when OOP wanted the extra help. Heh.. well that is why I was looking into getting a tank character for the Preds. Instead, they'll be getting a tank.. in another sense.
I don’t want to leave Tor unmentioned here. Originally, there was a large group of people in charge of the technical details of the role play, but most disappeared, so I jumped in just to help Tor with the character applications. Anyways, Tor was there handling most of the season one characters.
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

Well..I'm gonna use NK's edited version of Cece's bio. As for Starshadow's rank, Nk would have to decide on that since he's playing Meggy boy. :P

Wow.. can't believe I missed that. Uh yeah, a firepower of 2 when your carrying two guns and a courage of 9 on a cowardly character is.. odd. Well, if you want to increase the weapon cap on the transmetals we can. Though then we'd have to figure something out for the normals and fuzors.. either that, or just modify the weapon cap based off the strength stat.

Perfect example of why we have multiple mods.

Yeah, I have no intention of raising Glowstick's rank further.

Heh, Between setting himself on fire the first day in base, his habit of being mauled by wild animals while unconscious to the corpse baby event, I'm pretty sure that would count as "unlucky". As for why no changes, didn't really see a need for them. Icebreaker has always been decked out and should be able to keep up with the transmetals easily enough.

I assumed she'd probably do that.

Yeah, I didn't forget about them.

As for Cecaelia's rank, I agree with Blaze, pretty sure Megatron isn't going to like the idea of one of his predacons swooning over the enemy.. considering that'd be happening with Blackarachnia too.

QUOTE: “The greatest fun is to dismantle a new toy to see how it works.”

STRENGTH: 5.0
INTELLIGENCE: 9.0
SPEED: 6.5
ENDURANCE: 6.0
RANK: [Assigned by the staff. ]
COURAGE: 6.5
FIREPOWER: 5.0
SKILL: 10.0
[Stats excluding rank must not total over 48!]

BIO: After the demise of the Maximal medic Nightmist at the hands of Nemesis, the body was found to have some of Nemesis’ nanotechnology remaining behind. The nanobots reformed the remains into a completely new being before they deactivated. Providing the life force needed to generate a spark, Icebreaker also took part in the creation of the new Maximal.
The new Maximal would come to take the name Aurora, after the aurora borealis she so loves to watch. Being brought to life inside the Maximal base rather than through a crashed pod, Aurora got to choose her alternate mode. Her final selection came down to a butterfly and an ermine, so she chose to fuse the two.

PERSONALITY: Being a new creation, Aurora looks at the world with the curiosity of a child. She is very intelligent and learns new skills quickly, often tagging along with those more experienced so that she might learn from them. Often she will come up with her own solutions to problems when she is allowed to explore independently. She will often get fascinated by equipment she comes across and will, if given the chance, not hesitate to disassemble said equipment to figure out how it works.
Although unaware of her link to the key players in her creation, she does possess certain traits found in each of them. She may be reckless at times and may get into trouble, yet her intentions are usually good. She shows an interest and skill in the field of medicine and the science of engineering, and is perhaps especially adept at computer technology and hacking. In robot form her appearance has similarities to both Nemesis and Nightmist, without interfering with the uniqueness of Aurora herself. Her robot form is white and blue in color with black details. In both modes her wings can be folded down so that they’re not in the way all the time.

WEAPONS:
Stun Gun; Aurora carries a small stun gun for close encounters with hostiles, allowing her to provide a non-lethal shock which may temporarily scramble the circuits of the attacker and let her escape.
Tranquilizer gun: Armed with a cocktail of drugs, including tranquilizers, this pistol gives Aurora a medium distance weapon to sedate opponents without inflicting serious damage.
Vibro-knife: When activated the knife will produce powerful vibrations capable of knocking a semi-thick door off its hinges. The knife doubles as an emergency surgical tool when turned off.

EQUIPMENT:

Smoke grenades to provide a smoke screen for cover.
Portable computer gauntlet for hacking purposes, equipped with a wireless access point as well as an extendable wire hook-up for situations where wireless is not an option.
Energy shield powered by the computer gauntlet to provide temporary cover.

ABILITIES:
Aurora’s iridescent and translucent wings function almost like a hang glider, allowing Aurora to glide through the air on currents of wind. To do so she needs to gain enough altitude to catch updrafts that will keep her airborne for a while. She is, however, incapable of flying like a bird and cannot take to the skies from ground level. Her speed while in the air is also dependent on how strong the winds are, as is the amount of time she can stay airborne.
In her beast mode Aurora has typical traits of the ermine, such as a keen sense of smell, ability to climb well, as well as swim short distances.
Hacking; Aurora has the ability to perform different hacking skills such as take control over a computer through programming or ‘viruses’, extraction of information, or interfering with communication.
She also has some extent of engineering and medical skills.

WEAKNESSESS:
Aurora’s wings are rather fragile and will not offer much support in a fight. They also make it more difficult to hide, since light bounces off them so easily. Aurora’s curiosity and lack of field experience may get her in trouble as well. Aurora prefers not to use lethal force and will hesitate if she believes her actions may cause severe injury or death.

Just want to point out one contradiction in Aurora's biography. Her weakness states that she's inexperienced, but her skill is maxed out. A person's skill is developed through experience. Maybe you could specify that her field experience is low at the moment so she's more helpful at base rather than in the fray.

Did some editing for Frilla's stats and I did take out the katana from her weaponry since the limit is four and well she'd likely be better for long range come to think of it. As for Feralnight's accent she's keeping the Australian one since I don't think it could be altered unless perhaps something were to happen to her vocalizer or something.

I wouldn't worry about the accent. If you want to retcon it, then by all means retcon it. Ven's skill dropped from a 10 to whatever it is now in the middle of Season 1, but that doesn't detract from all her already written achievements and fights. If Feralnight becomes English, then I for one will accept her new voice for both Seasons 1 and 2 (or whichever scenario you see fit since you're her owner).

***EDIT***

I'm getting pretty excited for Season 2 now. Maximals have a lot of variety now: archiver, engineer, field medic, hacker, tank, etc. Definitely will be interesting to see how the RPG turns out in the future.

I'm eager to get started. With all these new characters does that mean there will be several episodes to introduce each of them?
