Wintersong's full body concept for being transmetal.

This is Frilla as a Transmetal that New Moon asked me to do. She's my cousin and said she can't draw too well so did her a favor and drew this up.

And this was my very first Transformer character called Tundra and my first attempt at a robot form.

Hmm.. Very Organic style, reminds me of Transmetal 2s. Which interestingly there was a Iguanus version for Tm2.. if I remember right he had a skirt too..(yes I can't even remember the toys I own that well.*LOL*)

Yea not very good with robotic styles sot his is a bit of what I could throw together for transmetal type.

And a skirt you say?0o That seems very odd in my mind.

http://farm1.static.flickr.com/197/3263 ... 033d97.jpg The Frilled lizard head folds up onto his lower back/butt. In lizard mode his mouth has a missile launcher, otherwise his toy only has "etched" in weapons(missile pod on left shoulder) or claws and can hold the missile like a club. Always kinda reminded me of a Hula grass skirt with the segmenting.

Also IDW's design for the character. http://thedreamwolf.deviantart.com/art/ ... 0182&qo=54

Kinda creepy looking but still the design is better then what I could do.Though this is my first try with this so it'll take a few tries ebfore I can really get the robotics down. May end up changing up the concepts a little, use some zoids influence to get a few helping points for it.

Hm.. I'd almost say try looking at some styling points from TM Tigatron or Ravage for Wintersong. While both are repaints/retools of Cheetor, it's still a solid mold and those ones have hands.

Heh. When sketching remember to do fine lines. You may want to sketch out the humanoid body shape first, then start adding details. Also helps to try to picture the image in your head while doing it, poses generally you can gain some reference from other pictures as well as every artist on the planet does it,Just some over do it as tracing which is then very bad. I'd get into shadow and shading and light for making a image more 3d, but that's alot more complicated.

Will see what I can work out first and 3d is a lot more difficult. What I might do is work on the new forms and use a different medium then what I have been using. See how it comes out and keep working it.

Try to get the proportions of the body parts right. When drawing beast modes, look up images in google and try to draw out the exact shape of the animal. I hope these few tips would be helpful.
