Cast Size

We all pretty much know that the reason why Beast Wars had a smaller cast than G1 was because production costs limit the amount of character models that can be included at the time. Then, there's the characters who were killed off because Hasbro had their own stupid reasons for doing so (i.e. - Tigerhawk). If these limitations never existed, would you guys have liked to have some characters get included from the comic book series? I personally would have liked to see:

- Razorbeast
- Polar Claw
- Snarl
- B'Boom

I enjoyed a lot of characters from the comics, but those four seemed to stand out the most in my mind. Polar Claw and B'Boom mainly due to their toys, and Razorbeast and Snarl for their roles in the story.

Razorbeast was my favorite characters in the IDW beasts wars comics. If he was still characterized that way, I'd love to have seen him in the show. And yeah, Snarl was cool.

I'd also enjoy seeing Ramulus- I think he had a great toy, and although Dinobot already covered the gruff role, it could have been interesting to see it in a character that had no conflict with Predacon heritage.

Hm.. when Tigatron came out I was really disappointed, Wolffang or Polarclaw would of been awesome. I also liked Spittor, Drill bit, Claw jaw, Razorbeast, and basically any of the TM2s or fusors made that weren't on the show. Some of the toys were pretty cool, yet only way to see alot of them animated was in the japanese versions. I used to like Magnaboss and Tripredicus as a kid, but seeing either in the japanese version.. geh.

"Tripredacus MERGE!"

"Magnaboss UNITE!"

What do you mean you used to like?? I _still_ love those toys, especially Tripredacus! :)

Hmm I didn't even think about Predacons. None of the comic book ones really stood out to me other than Magmatron. Maybe I'm just that much of a sucker for the good guys...

Uh.. well I could tolerate Magnaboss I guess other then Lio Junior being annoying while Skywarp and Santon do the butler/servant act.. But Tripredicus was the worse stereotype infused with japan's madness they could do.. Somehow I could tolerate the Seacons.. sometimes. But yeah, it would of been nice if BW had the gestalts..

The Predacons wont stand out for you because they weren't written to stand out other then Magmatron and maybe Ravage.

Dude, I wasn't talking about BWII Magnaboss (Lio Junior, Skywarp, Santon) and Tripledacus (トリプルダクス) -- I was initially talking about Beast Wars Magnaboss (Prowl, Silverbolt and Ironhide, aka The Maximal Imperium) and Tripredacus. Besides, Magnaboss II and Tripledacus have already appeared in a TV series, and also, the toys are different from Magnaboss I and Tripredacus.

Magnaboss I has never appeared in a cartoon and while the members of Tripredacus have appeared in Beast Wars, we never saw them in action (and certainly never saw them merge). They never came to Earth and nor adapted beast modes (hence we only ever saw them in their Cybertronian forms which look nothing like their toys).

As for character appeal, we know that the Maximals who form Magnaboss I are former Autobots who have been reformatted as Maximals and currently head the Maximal Council (possibly outranking Great Convoy and other councillors of the Convoy Council). They're not the relatively inexperienced youthful Maximals who form Magnaboss II, they're veterans of the Great War. And Silverbolt's had extensive experience as a member of a gestalt team (as ex-Aerialbot commander). It'd be funny if Silverbolt still suffered from acrophobia (fear of heights) - cos then every time he'd transform to beast mode and fly, it'd freak him out (although probably not as freaky as being a supersonic jet :p). Prowl could be a dick like he is in IDW's Ongoing G1 series. ;) We know that the Tripredacus Council are actually agents of Unicron planted to maintain dissent between Maximals and Predacons, which ties them to Tarantulas and they of course already have ties with Ravage/Tripredacus Agent.

And aside from their personas, I would just love to see gestalts in an Anglophone Beast Wars cartoon. :)

Yeah I think Magnaboss (combined or separated) should have made a cameo since those three characters hold a lot of influence and power over Cybertron's society. It would even make sense to have some sort of appearance in Beast Machines.

I would have loved to see Ramulus in the show, he was one of my favorite toys. Other than him, I was pretty content with who they chose for the maximals. The preds on the other hand... I would have loved to see Razorclaw, Powerpinch, Skyshadow, Scourge, Injector or Manterror... Such awesome toys. xD Also, for those in the RP, expect me to be changing my predicon character quite often to any of those mentioned above! xD

Polar Claw was originally intended to appear instead of Tigatron. I think I would have liked this tremendously as he would have been more appropriate given the climate in which he operated if nothing else.

o.O Actually, it was supposed to be Wolfang. Says it on the notes at the bottom. I also remember one of the writers mentioning it in an interview, don't remember which one though.

My mistake. Sorry. I still would have preferred Polar Claw though.
