Account Registration - Updated 24 / 11 / 2010

It has recently come to our attention that there is, or rather was, a bug in user registration.

In the past we've required people to check their emails to confirm that they actually exist are not in fact spambots. With the new forum software, those emails were not being sent and thus newly registered people could not activate their accounts and post on the forum.

We've fixed the bug by removing the requirement of email confirmation. Newly registered users can now post immediately on the forums as long as they can pass the standard spambot tests.

If anyone registered prior to this post and has yet to receive their confirmation email or has an account that has been set to "Inactive", contact us at admin@bwint.net and we'll see about activating your account.

The prior post is now invalid.

User registrations are now handled manually by the admin team.

If you are unable to post, have forgotten your password, or have recently registered a new account, you MUST send an email to malachite157@yahoo.com

Part of the reason for this is increased security and protection from spambots. The other part is due to a problem with the webhost that is currently being worked on.

Dear members,

It has come to my attention that some of your emails are not getting through on the admin@bwint.net email address. Until I can get to the bottom of this, please email me personally with any problems or questions at my email address: malachite157@yahoo.com stating something recognisable in the subject line like "Bwint forums" or "question about Bwint" so that it doesn't wind up in my spam folder.

My sincere apologies to those of you who have been inconvenienced by this problem. I will try to get it sorted out before the end of the year.
