The Vok and the Theory of Intelligent Design?

I'm not exactly sure where I should put this so I'm sticking it in the Beast Wars section.

I am sure you all know exactly what ID is since it's been considered a "religious theory" that some people wanted taught in schools along with evolution. Now I am not going to go into that part of the discussion because this is not a debate threat. I am just asking a question.

Well you know the theory goes something like "what if a really smart being created the universe and everything in it?" It is left to your own interpritation of what that smart being could be. Some do think it's aliens..

Which leads me to my point.

Okay so the life on earth and stuff in the show was supposed to be created by the aliens as an 'experiment" and when the Transformers came to earth and started messing with things the Vok decided to terminate it and start over.

So in a way would that mean the Vok are in Intelligent being represented in the theory at least for the Beast Wars fictional universe? Are they in a way playing of lack of a better word "God" so to speak?

I'm not sure where I am going with this. It has just been something that's been nagging at me the past few days. What are your thoughts?

Please be civil. I'm just asking for opinions.

well according to the writers, the Vok are the Swarm from G2's comics, just in their new shiny evolved form given to them from the matrix

When they were the Swarm, they devoured alot of Earth, and partially caused Jhiaxus to blow up San Francisco

Apparantly, they felt so guilty that they decided to try and fix things, they developed Time Travel (as did the Maximals and Predacons) and started experimenting on Earth, like to give it better energy supplies, and weapons of sorts, they didnt affect the lifeforms on the planet (so far as we know)

Not that I'm aware of, in the Beast Wars Canon at least they're said to have seeded Earth with raw energon and are using it in some kind of experiment.

What that experiment entails was never really explored, neither was their motivations nor their aspirations. However, since life was presumably immune to the deleterious effects of raw energon it can be presumed that the Vok had no concern for life on Earth whether or not it was designed by some form of intelligence or had arisen naturally.

True the Swarm was definately suggested to be the Vok, however, one of the writers wanted that to be the case and the other didn't. So it is still undetermined as to whether or not they are the Swarm due to the argument, so they left it up to our imaginations.

Personally, I always saw them as Unicronian but that was only because I saw them use Unicron's image when I was ten years old and had a habbit of over thinking what I saw. :P

I personally didn't see the tie between intelligent design and the Vok. This is mainly because I thought the Vok didn't create Earth, but (like Aesir said) they chose to tamper with it. Earth would have been Earth regardless, but the Vok added energon, weapons, and other crazy things found in the Beast Wars.

huh. Maybe I'm just giving the whole thing way too much thought.
