Keeping going with this wave of Q&A's, IDW comic book artists Don Figueroa and Guido Guidi have agreed to answer some of your questions.

Don is well known for his G1 run with Dreamwave and for doing thier single BW story. He was due to do thwir BW series before the company folded. Since then Don has done more G1 material, BW The Gathering, 3 issues of BW The Ascending and contributing to the BW Sourcebook for IDW

Guido has contributed character sketches for the BW Sourcebook and he drew the last issue of BW The Ascending for IDW as well as working on G1 material for them.

I have a question that really applies to both of them.

The various Transformers continuities all have their characters based on toys that have been released, so each character has to be adapted from those toys into the comics. How challenging is this process, and how much liberty are you allowed to take in the artistic adaptation? Do you more enjoy adapting characters or designing new ones?

Well, I have another question, which, again, applies to both of them.

As the comic book artist, you have the opportunity to draw in facial expressions, characters gestures, and even the way characters fight. How much of the portrayed attitudes and fighting styles for the characters are controlled by the intention or direction of those who are writing the comic book? How much influence do you have over the direction of the stories in general?
