A bit scared for the Newsletter so I made this!
Ta daaaaa!!!
I read here at the Newsletter forum that newsletters completely depend on available material and time and stuff. Well... I got scared and made this just now. n_n It's potentially a background but it doesn't have to be.
I <3 the newsletters and hope more come out, so maybe this pic will inspire others to get some materials together? Eh? Eh? :nudge:
I also have a newsletter idea - What if we made the Newsletter an image Sapphire merely has to upload to a page? Or several image, like pages of a real newsletter? I think the newsletters are a bit crowded and they are really wide and don't fit on a whatever-the-computer-term-for Standard Sized Screen -is-for-computers.With a couple images, we can fit stuff in in a nice, organized manner, with colorful borders and banners and extra images. Doing this also means less work for Sapphire during Update Tiemz.
Even though I get busy, if I have help/someone hands me the compiled material for a newsletter, I volunteer to make such an image(s). Given I have content to put in it, making a couple newsletter pages is quick and easy. . .
In fact, hold on a moment, I'll go make a sample.

Okay here's a really quick image. It has multiple color schemes and styles of boxes. The actual image would be much longer and way more organized according to what we'd have compiled. It would also be slightly transparent so the background image would be seen through it. The transparent thing would mean the image would have to be saved as a PNG file (or gif), though. I dunno if that's a problem. But it takes up less space and maintains the transparency.
Newsletter Sample with transparent background. (it looks solid because of the blue forum background. xD) :
Newsletter Sample as would be seen on screen...kinda. The background was cut off with all the cropping and stuff I was doing:
...and here it is, completely transparent, for fun. xD We technically don't need another background...:
Whatcha think?

OMG go for it! That looks amazing! And if other people could help sort out the newsletter then it'd be really easy for me to simply upload it and post it. I think this is a great idea, Dalgorath. You should have a title or something. Newsletter Project Champion. :p Seriously, though, that looks really spiffy. ^_^

Make it as wide as you think would look attractive on the average monitor. You seem to have a very good grip on layout and what is aesthetically pleasing, so I trust your judgement. Thanks for this, Dalgorath. It's just what the Newsletter needed.

Ooh, okay! I know for Widescreen comps, the background might stop on either side and I'm not quite sure how to help fix that. lol The size I made above, though, I tested on a copy of a background for a small website I made and it fits nicely. hat would be great, though, is if any part of the webpage that is not covered by the background image is black. Then it won't matter that the image stops, it'll just have a nice frame. So, if that's the case, it should look fine.
Thank you very much! I hope this comes together nicely! I think it'll be great!

Hey Dalgaroth. I am going to do my absolute best to update this weekend (if I have to do it at 2am, I will!) so if you have the newsletter ready, then please send it to me by Friday.
And I post this in general in case anyone else wants to submit any last minute additions to the newsletter.
