After sixteen competitors, fourteen matches, three completed rounds and two generations, we have finally come down to the Championship Final Round of the Armada & Energon Conference Singles Tournament. And it appears that even the help of the Mini-Cons was not powerful enough, as the last two opponents render this last match an all-Energon confrontation.

In one corner, it's the ambitious Decepticon Terrorcon Scorponok, marshal of the Terrorcon Drones, one of the most powerful of the Armada-&-Energon-era Transformers, and a Triple Changer. In the other corner, it's the heroic Autobot Leader Optimus Prime, armed with four switchable combat drones and combining ability!

This time, it's simple. You only need to pick the winner of the one match. As always, the trick is to pick the more realistic winner in this Championship Final, using the criteria that a win can be gained by (a) forcing a surrender from the opponent, (b) rendering him unable to continue after a 15-second count, or (c) destroying the opponent. The profiles of both combatants, and their respective road to the finals, are here once again for a reminder:

Scorponok (Decepticon) – Incredibly powerful and highly ambitious, with great power and sometimes questionable allegiance. An intelligent commander with Triple Changer capability and a varied array of firepower and assault tactics at his disposal. Is capable of flight in jet mode at better-than-average speeds, armed with dual laser cannons on both his roof canopy and his nosecone; plus side-mounted missile launchers. Scorpion-based construction vehicle is heavily armored, equipped with crushing pincer claws bearing hidden missile launchers, roof-mounted laser cannons, and an Energon stinger in his tail. Has immense strength in robot mode; uses the same weaponry from his “scorpion-truck” mode, but has better maneuverability.

{Defeated Ironhide (Energon) (100%), received a bye in Round 2, and defeated Bulkhead (Energon) (82%) to reach the Finals.}

Optimus Prime (Autobot) – The heroic Autobot Leader has undergone an upgrade of his own, with a reconfigured trailer and four Battle Drones for reinforcements. Is still one of the most powerful and wisest of the Autobots, and a long-time hero and idealistic champion of peace. Transforms into a heavily-armored tractor trailer; trailer transforms into a command base with a signal tracking system and four bays that store and launch the Battle Drones (fire truck, helicopter, drill tank, submarine). Standard robot mode uses a hand-held missile launcher as primary weapon. Can combine with the four Battle Drones (each one becoming an extended arm or leg) to form a more powerful Super Mode; any Drone can become any of the limbs, depending on need.

{Defeated Mirage (Energon) (90%), Scavenger (Armada) (91%), and Megatron (Energon) (73%) to reach the Finals.}

And, as in the other Tournament Finals, for those who feel a little creative, not only do you get to vote for the winner, but this is your chance to write out a move-for-move description of how you think the battle between these commanding figures will go! It can be long or short, concise or detailed. But make it a good and realistic battle, worthy of a championship final. Use the profiles and abilities of the combatants to whatever potential works the best, and keep them in character. And remember, this is a one-to-one battle, with Scorponok and Optimus Prime using their own powers. No outside interference. No additional reinforcements, outside of their own hardware. And... no need to worry about the "hero always wins in the end" rule in the cartoons. But if you feel like adding a little extra to your written description of the fight -- anything from crowd reactions to making it a cage match -- if it works, feel free to do so.

The deadline for voting and submissions will be Saturday, April 22, 7pm PT, shortly after which the results will be posted, along with some samples from any written battle scenarios, to be posted on all five participating boards; The Underground Hangar, Autobot.Net, The TF Collectors' Club Forums, Ages 3 & Up's forums, and Beast Wars International. You can cast your vote for the winner of this fight (and send your submission of your battle description if you wish), by e-mailing me at excellence-execution@excite.com, replying right here in this thread, or even letting me know in a Chat or IM. In the rare moment that we might talk in person or on the phone, casted votes also count there. I have also added a poll, if you feel too rushed to type out a whole post. As usual, you cannot cast your vote for the same match(es) more than once (yeah, an anti-ballot box-stuffing measure).

Really, is there going to be any match that Optimus CAN'T win? Maybe if he didn't have a super mode anymore...

About three days remain to choose your winner of the Championship Final match between Scorpronok and Optimus Prime. If you still haven't cast your vote yet, or written up your description of the fight, you still have some time left.
