Occupations and Apsirations!
Just wondering, for those who are working full time already, what do you do? If you're a student or part time worker, what is your current job and what do you hope to be in the future?
I'm a student working as a pharmacy technician, but I hope to become an actual pharmacist someday!

Right now I work at a clothing store called: GILLY HICKS. I'm a over night worker/stocker. And still looking for another job.
...As for my future plans... Hmm, I really want to be a writer. I guess well just have to see about that one. A cook, or a detective/cop, probably more ideas will pop into my head later on. Still somewhat undecided, but the writer part.

This is cool! Everyone has such diverse and neat jobs. ^_^
I've been in quality assurance for five years now. I did graduate college for digital art, but it's not easy to get into in my area. My job is easy work with great co-workers who are mostly male (all we do is joke around all day
). I get to inspect (visual and measure) tons of precision parts that we manufacture for military, defense, medical, semi-conductor and whatever else. Sometimes I laser scribe and assemble parts. Some parts we make are really quite interesting, like tiny pieces for Dr. Jarvik's artificial hearts, and parts for countersinks, and missile cones.
However, this is not something I want to do for the rest of my life. So I am currently getting training to become a voice actor. I should be done by the end of September and looking for auditions or anything for a new job. XD I probably won't drop my current job right away simply because it's been a steady pay check all the through this crummy economy and I needs money comin' in!

We do have some pretty cool career people on this board!
>.> I'm in college to be a Holistic Health Practitioner, which I think I may combine with psych just for a well-rounded clinical practice....
Tansformersvoice, do you just truck inside of a city or do you get to travel around a lot?
Good to hear that's coming along for you, OOP!

I work as a cashier at a Drugstore (can't say which one but it is popular in Canada). I prefer days but I often work nights (:()
I've has a few aspirations, I wanted to be a teacher, then an artist, but now I want to get into flim. Either working to create movies (Write, or just part of the technical crew) or I want to act, mostly voice acting.
Been trying to save up to go back to college and fix this whole OSAP business but haven't been able to save up. Slaggin rent, slaggin recession.

I'm currently a student at a bible college, working at a bookstore. I'm studying to be a Youth Pastor/Minister, and after I've graduated, I want to take a year off to save up to pay off a student loan. I want to study psychology and sociology as well, and want to work in a public school as a counselor. And on the side, I want to write books. I even have a few started.

Christ For the Nations Institute. I'm in the third year program, but I'm probably going to be staying in Dallas for a while longer so that I can continue to help with building up a small church that has really captured my heart. n.n

Just recently finished college for Diesel Repair, and applying to work again at the Navy Base here in Nova Scotia.
But aside from working on war ships and submarines, my best job has to be by far working in a night club/bar. Making up drinks, listening to the music and chillin' with the co-workers.
Favorite co-worker worked as a stripper in NY at one point (moved to the Maritimes when she became pregnant with her husband).
If Diesel repair doesn't pay a lot (though if I get the Navy job it will $32/hour) I plan on working strip clubs in the evening. I miss coming home in one night with over a hundred cash in my pocket from tips alone.
I plan on eventually going back to school (again) and taking some Psychology and Psychiatry courses just because, and I've had my eye on welding as well (my cousin does it and I've used an oxyacetylene torch before to make a chandelier and LOVED IT ).
In the meantime though, till those jobs come through, I do odds and ends for cash and volunteer for Habitat For Humanity (when we aren't being hit by tropical storms and hurricanes that is) and do side line things with Women Unlimited (a schooling that gets women interested in male dominated trades, like Diesel) and take them for a day in the shop to show them what class would be like.
I'm also looking into volunteering for other things as well, so that's one of the reason's I'm not around a whole heck of a lot. >>
