Like I said, in the book he seems about as articulate as Frenzy. His whole "Warrior Goddess" nickname for Mikaela came off serious, not sarcastic like in the clip. Especially in later chapters...
I agree though. Now that I've seen his movie personality, I think he's going to be my new favorite too!

Joshin, there are three books so far; Transformers: Ghosts of Yesterday (prequel to the movies), Transformers, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Ghosts of Yesterday is about a crew from Earth who get lost while testing out an experimental star ship based off technology gleaned from Megatron. While lost, they draw the attention of both the Ark and the Nemesis. At the same time on Earth, Megs is being moved from the Arctic military base down to where we see him in the movie - the Hoover Dam. I don't know how well it ties in to other prequel material like the comics, but it's a good look into the TFs' first contact with humans and how stupid modern day Simmons and crew were for thinking Megs posed no immediate threat to world security.
The Transformers novel is pretty much the same as the movie, with a few extra things thrown in. For example, if you saw the Imax edition of the movie, you would have seen the deleted extension to the "Your Brain on Drugs" chat. While not in the normal cut of the movie, there are a few scenes like that in the book. A few extended conversations, clarified details, stuff like that.
And then there is the new Revenge of the Fallen book. While Alan Dean Foster's eloquently hilarious text kicks aft, there are areas in which it is significantly lacking. For example, the half of the paragraph dedicated to Devastator's transformation; containing little more detail than the words "seven metal shapes fused together, piling one atop another...," it pales drastically in comparison to one of the most mind-blowing transformation sequences you will ever see. Silver, Beastbot, and Baron may confirm this. Just saying that seven shapes fused to create one Decepticon whose mass blocked out the sun creates a slightly less magnificent image than an extended "cables shot out of seven metal shapes, whipping around furiously as they painfully snapped and pulled together to form one massive beast of a Decepticon whose head fell to the ground from its own weight before lifting up with a tremendous roar to block out the sun."
The books are a good addition to the movies, but nothing beats Micheal Bay's explosions.

Actually, all three of them are in the movie (you can see this if you look carefully in the trailers/commercials we've gotten). However, I believe they're all collectively referred to as Arcee, and the toys of them can combine to form a larger robot mode (this was dropped from the movie late in the game), so she's sort of like one consciousness split up into three different bodies when it comes to the fiction.Baron Fel wrote:Chromia, Arcee, and the third unamed motorcycle all share a similar mold.
However, Arcee is the only one in the movie.
When it comes to the toys, however, they didn't want three deluxe class "Arcees" on the shelves that obviously looked different, so the blue one's named Chromia and the purple one's named.... whatever it's named.

o.0 okay, so just to recap, Alan Dean Foster refers to Arcee as a "tripartite Cybertronian," but at the same time makes it seem very much like the triplet of bikes is just one entity. And, pardon the mild spoiler here, as she's fighting Sideways the three parts combine to form a singular form of Arcee. Beastbot, you're saying that the fight in the poor Chinese family's house where she combines doesn't happen in the movie, and that when it comes to the toys, those 3 parts are individually named? Okay, I think that makes sense now...
