Beast Wars Language Reference

Unread post by starshadow »

Ok...probably some of you don't know the time unit and the languages they speak in Beast Wars such as me :X so I make a reference to help 'ya all for the rping dialogues :D you can tell me if I made any mistakes or add somemore of them. If some of the words I don't understand i would just put a question mark.

TIME UNIT
Stellar cycle = 400 days
Deca-cycle = 1 year
Megacycle = 1 hour
Cycle = 1 minute
Nano klik = 1 sec

VULGARITES AND IMPOLITE WORDS
Slag/Slagging = Sh** or F***(probably O.O)
Skidplate = Ass(I think :shock: )
(Example : Let's kick some decepticon skidplates! :twisted:)
Pit = Hell?
(i think they said that)

OTHERS
By the Matrix = Oh My God (i think)

That seems about right. One addition used in Beast Machines was Solar Cycle which was about 1 day.

other vulgarities

Exhaust port and command module have both been used the way a human would use the word ass. examples: Blow it out your exhaust port. Stick it up your command module.

In the episodes before Spider's game (Inferno's debut) the word Inferno was used as a rough equivalent for hell. After the character named Inferno was introduced they started using the word Pit as an equivalent to hell.

The matrix was the equivalent of heaven, but when used in the sentence "By the matrix" it would have been the equivalent of "Oh my God" or "By the Heavens."

Primus was the equivalent of God and would be use in phrases like "By Primus no!" which would equal "By god, no"
"And now, Optimus Prime, in memory of the Decepticons... for the glory of the Predacons... for the Cybertron that is rightfully ours, and mine to rule! ... I unleash the storm of vengeance -- farewell!"

"well that's just Prime"

is a reference to his namesake Optimus Prime

Its just a bit of a fan-nod to the G1 fans out there :D

When Optimus would say, "well, that's just prime. " I thought Prime was to his G1 as well as, prime meaning like dandy lol. I think I'm off a bit though.

I believe its a mix of both. It's a literal way of sarcastically saying things aren't going well, (literally sarcastic? Hmm... there's got to be a better way of phrasing that) and also a nod to G1 Prime, or to the fact he is leader (even though he is Primal).
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

OKay we know all know Inferno. But I remember Dinobot would sometimes say, "To the inferno with you!"

Is 'inferno' and 'pit' both meaning Hell?
