Straight off of Michael Bay's website, no less!
Transformers principal photography set to begin June 2
04/25/2008 05:14 PM
Nelson here...

Spoke to Michael today and I was informed that Transformers 2 is set to begin shooting principal photography on Wednesday, June 2, 2008.

Enjoy the weekend!
Yes, it's a bit late, but doesn't that just blow that rumored cast list out of the water? I was talking with my brother who hates Beast Wars but thinks that the movie is sick (Northeastern term for "holy crap, this is gonna be on my mind for days!"), and he also thinks that whatever they've released out to the public has to be false information at this time. Whatever they've let us see is probably stuff that never made it past the cutting room floor or the editorial office.

And on a completely unrelated note, go look for the ad for the Verison FiOS featuring Michael Bay. You find out where the statue of Bumblebee ended up. Discuss it in a new thread ... XD

That's all for now, but post here if you get official picture links or news, not just rumors.

Sgt. Epps ("BRING IT!") and Secretary of Defense John Keller are back. o_o

They're also calling for a casting call in PA. What they're looking for, I don't remember...
Is the answer to this question "No"?

niiiiiiiiice.

Here's hoping that they'd do Ravage some pure feline justice. I'm glad that we're getting more G1 into the movie. And btw ... I can't wait to see the production sketches. Those are really what cemented in which characters were being used.

I reckon that Soundwave should be either one of those big spyplanes with the satellite dish on top, a mobile command unit or perhaps a stealth bomber. I was thinking that they could make Lazerbeak a UAV with a robotic avian robot mode and the addition of a holofield which can make him appear to be a real eagle and cloak him from any form of detection.

Don't get me wrong, Ravage is awesome, but I always remember Lazerbeak being my very first cassette tape transformer viewing (thus a personal favourite).

Maybe they can give Ravage a russian growl

I'm really itching to get the Botcon alongside this movie.... amusingly, I think I'm looking forward more to that than the movie itself. Its all about being immersed in the atmosphere of mad Transformers fanatics and being in the cinema with everyone cheering at the awesome moments.
It's ok sir. I'll be fine...

Just listen to your commander, bonebrain!

I read this in the newspaper this morning:

http://www.mcall.com/news/local/all-b1_ ... 9475.story

And here are more related links about the topic:

So, it's confirmed that they will be filming in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, which is only ten minutes down the road from me. However, I believe they're looking for Asians since Bethlehem is substituting for China, and I have no Asian background and certainly don't look Asian, so I don't think I'll get in front of the camera, but I'll most certainly be behind the scenes taking pictures and maybe even fetching coffee and donuts for the crew. Who knows. But it seems they might be offering several opportunities for the locals to from truck drivers to paid walk-on roles. If they keep this scene as one of the openings for the sequel, just remember that it wasn't actually shot in China, it was shot in Pennsylvania!

As for the filming in Philadelphia, which is about an hour south of me, that's going to be the better part of June, and I just might be able to squirm my way onto camera, even if it's just as an unpaid extra. My brother's trying to help me with an on-line sign-up that a Philly radio station is offering for roles on the movie, and I'm scrounging around on job listings and casting call websites looking for more information on how I might be able to participate and specific days and times when the filming will be. It's all very exciting news over here in PA!

Sweet. The NorthEast gets their share of Transformers filming. XD Now all they have to do is topple Providence, and I'll totally be on film there! Because while Providence did host a Botcon, we all know that Boston is twice as historic and beautiful.

...

Okay, so I'm biased.

But congrats to OOP! If you get into those films, I'm so gonna be watching for your face! And upon seeing pictures of the Bethlehem Blast Furnaces, I'm psyched about seeing what they're going to be doing. That's picturesque and totally cool. Sweet news!

 They so need a car chase to tear through Providence and whizz past the Hasbro HQ. Ohh! The Allspark animates Mr Potato Head and he goes all evil and fights against Bumblebee! Brilliant!

#cue Optimus Prime posing next to the statue of himself# :D

Bah. I looked up auditions for extras for the movie, and it came up with, "Want to be in *blah blah blah* ...looking for Asian extras aged 7 - 65"

Pah. Oh well. I have a job next year and I've already signed the contract >.<

Those in PA....luckyyyyy! But you know Bethlehem is going to double-up as a fictional Chinese city, right? *(Hence all the Asian extras  )

Please clarify "HnA" and please, let's keep the negativity in this thread to a minimum. TF-2 is an exciting thing. And if you have official news, Beastly, please back it up with a link providing the source of said news.

Thanks, in advance.
