lockdown

Unread post by Vampyerba »

Today a student at my school brought a gun, and was posing threats to others. I was on spare when he made the threats, but when I got to school, it was on lockdown. First I went to open the main doors, they were locked and I could see cops in the building. I went around to the back and saw 3 cops cars as well as global news van. I went back around when my principal told me to get inside. As soon I was inside I was grabbed and pulled into a room with about 7 other students, and was informed we were on lock down and had to remain quiet. No body got hurt, but I have no idea if they caught the kid. I am terrified to go back tomorrow. Has there ever been a lock down at your school? Any ways to calm the paranoia that follows?

Glad to hear you're alright though!

Never been a lockdown at my old Highschool, we have very strict gun laws here (I've never seen a real gun, ever). As for your paranoia, the only thing I can advise you to do is to try to rationalise things out.

I doubt such things are common occurrences where you live and with luck they apprehended the student with no harm to anyone and they're getting the help they need.

The best thing for you to do is to be brave and not let fear of what happened stifle your life or your education. You can be nervous or wary, that's natural, but try not to let it get in the way of life.

OMG! I'm so glad you're alright, VBA!

That's sounds scary...again, I'm glad you're OK. No, we havn't had anything like that in my school, but we're rather sheltered in Kuwait anyway.

I hope they do catch that kid. Honestly, what is this world coming to? It's a disgrace.

Hugs to you, and be strong. *hugs*
