G1 Bumblebee
G1 Bumblebee
Description from dA:
I went back to the past with this fanart. This is the very first time I've drawn the little Autobot Bumblebee but I've been meaning to do so for some time. I had a lot help from my reference (see below) but added the battle damage, sparkly shine, turned-on headlights and glowing optics as my own touch. Awe, he's a cute wittle Transformer. ^_^
Mediums:
Pencil, inked, colored in Photoshop
Reference:
Transformers Ultimate Guide (hardbound copy)

Nice job! I wouldn't know where to start with making reflective surfaces. Heck, I don't know the first thing about drawing 2-dimensional polygons.
But very nice job. He looks cool.

Thank you very much, Blazemane. ^_^ I used to think the same thing until I kept drawing Beast Wars and the "OPTIMUS PRIME" drawing I did. It's much easier when you have a reference because you just follow those shadows and highlights and colors. But the two Beast Wars fictional characters I managed to conjure up without any references was from practice and a lot fooling around with Photoshop.

No no no no no, there is no "same thing". It takes a certain level of skill to attain drawing abilities like that. You may claim you were primarily aided by gradual attempts and references, and I'm not going to say you're wrong, becasue I'm not you. You would know. But I can fully assure you, my base of artistic skill... is not a base at all. I have approximately nothing to go on. I just plain can't draw like that.I used to think the same thing until I kept drawing Beast Wars and the "OPTIMUS PRIME" drawing I did.
Seriously, people could blackmail me if they got a hold of any work from my art classes. It's that bad.

lol Yeah, Moosey's got a point on the new Bumblebee. It was actually funny cause I saw it and thought "Wow. The old bumblebee looks like he's wearing bell-bottoms compared to the camaro."
Nice damage and lighting effects there. Impeccable as always

It's ok sir. I'll be fine...
