This is about the e-mail. ^_^
If any of you are good at computer graphics, designing things like headers and borders would be helpful, too.
I could also help with that. I suggest themed graphics, like if it were Valentine's Day, we could have BA and Silverbolt at the top or something.
f anyone else wants to send in something like a preview to a fic they're working on, or a collaborative RP-fic that runs monthly, or even something simple like a poem or short story, that's very cool.
*grin* Once in a while should be enough...
ow I think we can work this one is, every month, have a topic of debate about the show, which the four of you can argue on the forums (and then the debate can be shortened and posted in the newsletter) or we can have a long-standing debate. A topic can be raised in one issue and one of you four comment on it, and then someone replies in the next issue, and so forth.
I think we could go with the long-standing, but maybe each topic could only last for two or three issues. It'd get sort of boring after three...

Now here's something I could do on my own as a sort of editorial-story. See, my sister and I recently had the idea for something like Beast Wars: The Musical. Basically, we're gonna spoof a lot of songs and rewrite the Beast Wars with the songs in the episodes. My sister would help me, but it probably would be PG-13 at best, I mean, these songs....seriously.

Working under pressure is, for some reason, always good for me. My time is kinda limited though, I mean, I really am just a kid compared to all you fellow BWinters.

Well, anyways, just to let the natural kiddie-ness inside me out...

first debate

this has been bugging me for a while now

what type of spider is blackaracnia?

black widow
red back
katid

i belive she is a red back if u look at her during the show, her body structure etc

i think they chose black widow bcoz more people around the wolrd can relate to it. Red back is not so well known

its not a katid bcoz they used other australian wildlife n i dont know of any nz widlife eg snarl tasmanian devil, iguanus frilled necked lizard

does she have a red mark on her back?

please correct me if im wrong

black widow. she does have a red mark on her back

whilst it might be an interesting topic for debate, im afrid it doesn't really work for the show. she said repeatedly tht she is a black widow spider. plus, i've seen pics of real black widows......hard to mistake her beast mode for anything else. soz...

The Redback spider is a close relative of the Black Widow, the only difference being a red stripe on the Abdomen (Pictured Below)

Image

Blackarachnia in the show traditionally sports a similar red stripe. Although it is fine to call her a black widow, it's more accurate to call her a Redback :)

Eh? Definitely a harder question than one thinks.

BA is definitely a Black Widow. She can be seen sporting the traditional red hourglass right here.

Image

The only problem with the being of a black widow is that the hourglass should be on the underside, so if BA was true to the actual spider the hourglass wouldn't be where it is. I can't say its a red back at the same time mainly because it is without doubt an hourglass...and I really don't think about katid. So I'm going for Black Widow.

Yeah, I'm definetely thinking she's a black widow.

Named Blackarachnia.
As mentioned earlier, calls herself a black widow.
Looks like one.

I guess I don't have much to say, I never thought of it before.
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

k
i jus googled black widow n saw wat one looks like
i got the black house spider confused with the B Widow

i never knew bw spiders existed as they do till jus then lol

k now that i have undertaken further research on the topic

it is hard to answer
now im thinking black widow coz she refers to herself as one apparently but bcoz of the red on top instead of underneath.....

they do look very similar

scrap that it was the katipo spider of nz

all three belong to the same family so i guess its all the same, mayb a melding of all three before the land broke up n divided the species??? remember it was back in the past

teach me to rant on without doing my homework! lol

I also got the e-mail and won't be able to do any pics for this edition but I might have a little short story thingum done by the deadline (if we have one).

As for the debate: BA's definitely a black widow, no question about it. Her real counterpart was eating her mate as Tarantulus activated BA's DNA scanner and as mentioned before she stated every so often that she was a black widow. Even if her red marking's not placed very accurately, the animators weren't exactly striving for the biological likeness of each animal:

Just to let you all know I have FINALLY updated the site. Also, I have mentioned the newsletter on the updates page, so I'll give people a few days to respond to that and then I'll send off an email with people's official assignments for the newsletter. :)
