but i agree with what you said about villains being cool...my dad LOVES megatron. he hates Beast Wars, but i was watching the low road and he was standing behind me. it was when megatron said, "I. Want. That. Virus!!!!" my dad poked me and said, "I LIKE him" typical daddy
What? SB and BA relationship was really interesting. Yeah, I know that SB is a jar full of honey... sooooooo pretentious... but made Beast Wars to have any kind of stories, from warlike to spiritual and also love stories. Different points of view, my friend ;)

I have to agree with the other thing. Megatron is an awesome villain! Highly ambicious, egocentric and a real authority. One of my favourite villains indeed, next to Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine and Count Dooku from Star Wars, and Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean :P

Silverbolt is too mushy for me but it was nice to see that love can conquer evil! Now I'm getting mushy :P

Who doesn't like Megatron? I mean he is that villian you love to hate.

Little did your dad know Jagna, that he was quoting Megatron when expressing "I LIKE him".
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

Hello Optimus Primal08. I will admit that I don't follow Primal as close as others here, but some credit should be given to the leader of the good guys. Enjoy yourself. And if ya' want a more proper/thorough welcome, post somethin' on introduce yourself. But yeah, definitely good to see another maximal.
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

Wow, long post.
Blazemane wrote:stuff about Maximal No More that is too big to quote
This I agree with. Megatron himself said Dinobot had been changed (weakened) my compassion. (In Code of Hero.)
I recall that the predacons and maximals had achieved peace, even though, as Megatron mentioned in his speech in Beast Wars Part 1 that it was pretended.
Well, the Autobots/Maximals were sincere about it, if that helps any.
So, if the preds had their way, they'd have total control over everything and all others would be horribly oppressed,
Eh, if it were Predacon rule and not BM Megatron's rule, then I think it'd be alot similar to how the Decepticons controlled Cybertron during the 80's TF movie, namely, still at war with the Autos/Maxies.
as opposed to the maximals who probably had a small touch of the upper hand (I'll admit that's by no means good, if it's true. I know Megatron claimed the predacon existence on Cybertron was slavery, but the conditions are probably far better than that. Anybody would use anything as a way to gain support for intergalactic conquest, yesss...). The maximals had no intention to make predacons worse off and probably believed they were happy since the predacons did feign peace.
Now, the following websites are wikis, and I know some people absolutely despise wikis, but I'll post them anyway.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pax_Cybertronia
http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/Pax_Cybertronia

So it may or may not have been slavery but there was definite disadvantage to being a Decepticon/Predacon once peace came about.
I know the show didn't make it sound completely like that, but the maximals were written as the good guys of the story. That's why you can trust that their intentions were pure and that Cybertron probably wasn't as bad as can be thought. I know people like to write fics about the maximals being partially corrupt (oo, I need to write a rant about this), but that's not what the show presented.
Well, this can be taken several ways. Were the Axalon crew (the ones NOT reprogrammed to be Predacons) paragons of goodness, with Optimus Primal as their glorious, caring champion? Yes, they were. (Until Beast Machines, but I won't get into that.) But Maximals weren't seen outside of the Axalon crew, but you've already addressed the dual arguments point.
As for Rampage, this is one I'm not so wishy-washy on. Here's my opinion: the maximals made a robot with a nearly immortal spark; Rampage made Rampage.
Correction: The Maximals made a robot with a nearly immortal spark based off of Starscream. Surely they might have considered him going on a rampage? (No pun intended.)
This is fun. It's nice talking to another fan about Beast Wars.
Great isn't it?

Ah yessss. GLORIOUS MEGATRON PRAISE. PREACH ON, PREACH ON...
One of my favourite villains indeed, next to Darth Vader,
Yessss.
Emperor Palpatine

and Count Dooku from Star Wars
...Yesss...I think.,
and Davy Jones from Pirates of the Caribbean
Noooooo.

Doh! We were going on the right direction  Nah, it just depends on each one points of view. Those are the villians I like, between others... but those are my favorite. Davy Jones... C'mon! I really feared him when I watched POTC 2 (and in the third one it became totally vulnerable, that's cool). But I tell you it all depends on our point of view. Anyway, that's another topic... the important thing is that we agree with this: Megatron = Cool villain...! YESSSSS!

Well, not if it was actually rule. Rule is victory.
Now, the following websites are wikis, and I know some people absolutely despise wikis, but I'll post them anyway.

I don't hate wikipedia. I will admit that I use it. And seeing as I can't succesfully argue against Teletraan 1, I'll give up. So, it wasn't right of the maximals. Still, I'd rather be a pred under maxi rule rather than a maxi under pred rule (from an objective standpoint. Obviously if were really a pred under maxi rule I woldn't prefer it that way).
Correction: The Maximals made a robot with a nearly immortal spark based off of Starscream. Surely they might have considered him going on a rampage? (No pun intended.)
I thought that "based on" meant basic scientific principle, not also intigrating Starscream's qualities into the spark. I mean, from "Possession", we saw that Staracream had been floating around beyond the reach of space and time. So they couldn't have integrated Starscream's actual spark into this project, could they have? So, if all they were doing was attempting to make an immortal spark like Starscream's (like Starscream's is how I understand it), then weren't personality and ethic's Rampage's choice? Or am I missing something?

*blinks* Egads the Maximals outnumber us. o_o

Maybe it helps that we have bigger guns, though?

For Blazemane:
So, if all they were doing was attempting to make an immortal spark like Starscream's (like Starscream's is how I understand it), then weren't personality and ethic's Rampage's choice? Or am I missing something?
*scratches head* This is how I see it: They tried creating a spark like Starscream's. Somehow they must have known some of its special properties, or they just tinkered with existing sparks until they got the winning combination. As far as Rampage's personality and ethics, I believe they were a product of the horrors commited to him and the effects of having emotional empathy. In my little world, he was just an average Joe to begin with and had an already established personality that was warped due to scientific experiments.

And after having all that crap happen to him he might have decided "Screw this, I'm gunna kill people now." I covered that possibility in my story "Descension", so it's purely my own thoughts on how it happened.

It's getting kinda late for me to make any sense, but hopefully that did. ^^;

You don't need bigger guns to constitute the destructive majority - imagine if the Maximals were armed with flea bombs and cans of Mortein:

Predacon: *cocks great big whacking gun* Mwahahahaha!
Maximal: *rigorously shakes can* Eat DEET!
*SHHHHHHHHH*
Predacon: Mwahah - ARRGH! I'M MELTING!

And there goes half the Preds
We just keep growing and growing!
Whatever you guys say, neutral is still the best way to go *waves flag*. We'll just let the two of you fight it out and laugh from the sidelines while we complete our own agenda
