Wherewith the Powers of Random did Varyn share her poem...

Being the antisocial nitwit that I am, I have hardly contributed a whit of content to these forums that I help admin [it's no secret that I just signed up for this job so that I could BAN AT WILL, muwaha!], so I thought I would post a poem here beause I am miffed with DA at the moment and need some alternate means of foisting my dreck on the unsuspecting masses.

I'm not very good at writing poetry, and this particular piece --aside from being completed after the amazingly dedicated effort of ten whole minutes-- will not make any sense to anyone who does not happen to be either me or someone who spends way more time with me than is healthy for anyone, so if it perpelexes you, don't worry, you're not going crazy-- I've already gone and done that for you.

Twin Flames in Twilight

I suppose it is your nature
To wonder in frames more than pictures
Until dust and darkness go gathering
You come covering all exhibition
With the shades of a thick silence
You linger,
Waiting for the next twilight;
Where shadows in all things can be mistaken
And the senses made so much keener so easily
Overtaken by guise,
Disarmed of shield but not of sword
[we are]
The night
[all we can will to]
Keeps
[still]
Falling

And so your gaze follows further in
Until you're left in that lingering,
Placeless yet remembering,
Longing yet embracing
Being left
[Short of sight in the distance]
Between the switches flickering lies,
[You're lying lost]
Along with the right to closed eyes
You're slipping behind yourself always
You go deeper
[but never quite down]
Drowning in the private sea of the blind
[we see so blindly as to dream falling]
How your pressures build
[Further down]
As the uncomfortable are by silence
Comforted dead
Still
Driven you drive the call of the quiet complete
Beyond the edge of the horizon,
The fringes of an event
After which nothings finally can be
None
Can be anything but
Will.

Awesome!! Curse this typing being unable to express how cool that was. 10mins and its always the ones who say that they are no good a poetry that come up with the groovy stuff.

I loved "Disarmed of shield but not of sword." It works so well.

Also as I was reading it I had a flash to part of my season 1 ending for the BM fic I'm working on. It is soooo fitting for one of the dramatic moments I am planning on. I'll have to discuss this in more detail with you in the future however I would be very interested in incorporating that very piece into the Dark Covenant which is a key source of knowledge for the Tri-predacus council. I have actually been thinking of how to phrase certain passages for it as a voice over/narration for the final scene. I think that would be perfect. Obviously I would only do so with your consent (AAAND actually getting to writing that point is going to be quite some time away) but I reckon it would be very cool.

So, big thumbs up at the work. I enjoyed it quite thoroughly. :D

Of course you can use my dreck! Erm, writing, whatever. I'm quite flattered that someone sees such potential in it

I haven't read any fanfiction in aaaages, but if you'd like to email me your series [or is it posted up on this forum/site? Yes, I'm too lazy to check right now, I got 3 hours of sleep last night], I'd happily read it and give you my input-- if you wanna discuss such, feel free to email me at your leisure [jen.field@sympatico.ca] to discuss your nefarious schemes, or if you'd like you can request a summoning of the Varyn on Skype at some point, if you tell me your available hours [even if it's 2 am my time that's fine... I'm a vampire].

That poem kicks ass!!! It isn't about Silver staggering home after a drunken escapade, is it? lol
Seriously though that is amazing work, especially for 10 minutes!!
Your wrinting skills have captivated my imagination monsiuer, well done

Thanks!! :D It just fits perfectly because there is a certain character who is going to be dragged through hell throughout the entire first season and this will be an excellent narration for a number of closing season components. That whole sentence was inherently rambly however I'll leave explainations for another time. Too many ideas and concepts to cover in a single post. Skype conference sounds like a great idea. Being free of work during this training period, I am pretty much available any time (the vampiritic traits are very hard to shake and I still roam about the house and bakc yard late at night and sleep till midday).

So far I have posted 4 episodes thus far and am starting episode 5.
First episode is:
viewtopic.php?t=780

and the rest of the episodes are labelled in a similar fashion on the console. It's the only fan fic I have posted thus far and Sapph has a copy of the only other BW thing which was my entry for the fanfic comp. But that's a completely different screaming pile of silliness.

Drunken escapades? Me? Never... and by the way Primus from SCOTLAND.. you should have some interesting drunken stories of your own. Either that or I'll just have to mosey on over there and rock on with the Scots. :D

Primus--- Ha, I should write a poem about him doing such. Poetry is much under-utilized as a vehicle for public humilation, I say. And thanks for the compliments :D

Silver-- Excellent, good sir; when I have read the chapters you've got down I'll send you a pm and arrange some Skypeable moment betwixt our tempestuous timetables. And then we can let the destruction begin

Yes but how many times can you truly rhyme with the word vomit? :P

Why thank you fair maiden. I eagerly anticipate much silly conversation time following your literature review. May tumultuous temporal tangents take #slaps side of head# blasted alliteration loops... I look forward to receiving the chaotic assistance required in the near future.

Alliteration is fun. See my first post for examples.
