(( OOC: No worries, N-H. I just didn't want you to pass up the opportunity for Saber's confession since this topic seems to be slowly dying an agonizing death now.

Thank you so much for posting! I've been waiting for long for this. XD
))
Optimus noticed Saber-Fang's reaction while he dislodged the disk from her shoulder when her claws tensed, piercing the ground and she growled deeply. He supposed he didn't have a medic's touch after all.
"Yes, I should have some."
Primal sat back to give her more room and watched Whitegrazer's delicate touch patch up the former general's significant shoulder wound. She seemed so motherly sometimes.
"Your turn. We need to stop that fluid from leaking."
The gorilla didn't bother denying it or trying to convince her otherwise. Sitting there, he winced a little when Whitegrazer applied pressure to the hole in his shoulder, wrapping the bandage around his shoulder, under his arm and over his collar. With the fluid that had already drained, and being drug across the grass and dirt by Cecaelia earlier, he hadn't noticed how much of mess he must have looked like. Primal's eyes lingered on her face instead of watching her tending to his injury until he witnessed an energon surge disturb her systems.
"That should be good, Whitegrazer," he managed a grateful smile.
"Thank you. You had better revert to beast mode."
"Wait, Rhinox," “After every thing I put you through, you more then deserve an explanation. But given every thing that’s happened today, I don‘t even know where to start, but again you deserve to know the truth. This video data pad will explain every thing… more then I ever could.”
Hearing Saber-Fang, Optimus saw her jump off of Rhinox and maximize, walking over to him and placing a video data pad on the ground, activating it. He was speechless at first; he wasn't expecting her to do this now, of all times. He was barely coherent as it was. But since Saber felt it was time to get everything off of her chest now, Primal did his best to concentrate and view the hologram before him.
“Optimus and I’m sure Rhinox and Icebreaker are with you as well. If you are watching this, it means that you have found what I’ve been doing before I have a chance to tell you myself. I never wanted you to find out this way, I was going to tell you but… I didn’t how or even where to start. I know that’s no excuse and I don’t expect you to forgive me for I’ve done, I just want you to hear me out.”
Making a frown, Optimus glanced up at Saber-Fang before returning his attention to the video recording.
“You should have two sets of data pads laying on your desk, three of those data pads will explain a top secret project called Operation: Savage Beast, fitting name I guess. Turns out the Maximal Elders have known about the beast for more then a Millennia, the only reason there’s no information on it, is because it’s been labeled above top secret, even from me. As you can see I had to hack into a few computers to get this information. The data pads will tell you the first hand accounts of scientists who worked on this project and how they tried to replicate the effects of the creature but failed, seeing how the origins of the creature were unknown, they also tried to gain control of the beast so they could use it on the battle field, that also failed. Many bots with this condition died during testing, due to the massive stress on their bodies and sparks. And in the end The Maximal Elders called the whole thing off and declared that any Maximal or Neutral bot with this mutation is considered a threat and are to be taken to the them to be executed.”
The leader's expression shifted to one of frustration as he learned more of the Elders' secrets through Saber-Fang's own research and computer hacking.
Primus. He shook his head, distraught by the infomation.
“Some times I think, we’re just as cruel as the Predacons.
Not all of us, he grumbled in his own thoughts, disappointed and disturbed by what was going on higher up in the food chain on Cybertron for far too long.
Anyway… back to the topic at hand, as for the other fourth Data pad, it’s simply the structure of the beast and how an “episode” is triggered. As you have already seen, it’s triggered by loss of temper, but it also seems to be triggered by the sudden and last minute need to protect ones self or a strong need to protect some one close to said person. Thankfully it can not be created by science, due to it’s mysterious origins, it’s genetic, it has to be past down from parent to sparkling. But I also believe it has everything to do with ancestry I believe that’s the reason I have it, that and the fact that I’m descended from a Decepticon who joined the Autobots during the great war. As far as I know, I‘m the only Maximal with this mutation, curse; what ever you want to call it.Truth be told I was scared, I just didn’t know who to turn to at the time, that’s why I went to Sonar. I was worried that if I sought help from the Maximals, it would only be a matter of time before I was turned over to the Maximal elders and executed, as I said before,” “My rank and the fact that I have served them and Cybertron loyally for centuries would mean nothing, I would still be killed because of this… thing.”
A great deal of sorrow washed over Primal's demeanor and face at the last portion of her explanation. Was this how they dealt with case or experiment that went horribly wrong? Just exterminate them, or exile them on a doscilent planet like Optimus was supposed to do with Protoform X? Using his good arm, he lifted his hand to his face and rested it over his mouth, astound and thoughtfully processing all of this information. Again, he glanced up at Saber standing nearby before shifting his eyes back to the video feed.
“Going to Sonar was one of worst mistakes I have ever made in my life, it’s a mistake that I wish I could take back, but I can’t. And lying to you only made it worse and in doing so it has shattered the trust between us and for that I’m sorry. I realize now that I should have trusted you, all you wanted to do was help me, but all I did in return was lie and push you away, again I am truly and deeply sorry.”
That was indeed exactly what she did, but since she recognized her mistake and took responsibility for her actions, Optimus found it easy to forgive her, accepting her apology, and move on.
“I’ll understand if you can no longer trust me after this. Having said that, I believe it’s best if I banish myself from the Maximals and from Maximal territory,”
Suddenly, as he lowered his hand from his face, Primal's expression became perplexed, almost panicky, watching this unfold on the hologram. His brown eyes quickly shot to the real Saber-Fang. Obviously, he disagreed with her decision.
“And in doing so, I will no longer participate in ending the Beast Wars. I wish you all the greatest of luck, because as long as I have no control over this creature, I can not be trusted within the confines of this base, nor can I be apart of this group. I have killed Maximals in the past, and if history were to repeat itself, I would never forgive myself, I do not want anything like that to happen again. This is what is best for all of us.”
This time, his eyes didn't return to the video. Instead, they studied the former general while he listened to the rest of what she had recorded. He understood what she was trying to do but he didn't fully support it.
When you make it back to Cybertron, tell them I died fighting and protecting my comrades. I’d rather be remembered as a dead hero, then alive coward and traitor.”
“I made that before going to Sonar,” “I planned on telling you every thing the second I returned the base, I just... never expected it to happen this way.”
As good as sitting down on the ground felt after such a chaotic day, the wounded gorilla slowly got to his feet and walked over to the saber toothed cat in robot mode, remaining upright.
"Saber-Fang, I am sorry for what you have been put through. This was not all your fault. I believe the Maximal Elders have some responsibility to take in this. While I'm disappointed that you sought assistance from Sonar before us, I understand your decision in doing so. Maximals haven't exactly been the best or the most reliable option for you, therefore, you probably have a tendacy to distrust them and avoid putting your life in any near their hands. This explains so much ever since we found you stowawayed on the Axalon. I only wish you had confronted us sooner. So much of what you've been through on this planet could have been evaded." Pausing, Optimus had to take a breath and close his eyes, just for a moment, as he felt his head spinning. The bandage over the hole was showing some dampness on the front and his back but nothing was leaking further than that.
"I certainly hope you reconsider leaving my crew and helping us fight this war. I need your help and your friendship. You still have a chance to redeem yourself, and we can help you. I'm sure Whitegrazer can find a way to tame that Beast inside of you so you can co-exist with it. Her methods are very successful. As for returning to Cybertron and what the Maximal Elders may or may not do to you, I will personally make sure that no one lays a hand on you or tries to imprison you... or worse. If you can learn to control the Beast, then you will have something to prove to not only them, but to yourself. I am willing to work on this and give you help if you are willing to stay and accept it," Primal finished with sincerity, and gently placed a hand on her shoulder as a gesture of comfort and reassurance.
